She sat stunned for a minute but the taste of
the beer, the empty stomach and the acid churning from her shopping
experience quickly brought one hand over her mouth and the other
over her stomach. She could not do this here. She was a lady, a
professional business woman. She reached for her purse on the bar
counter with the hand that held her stomach. Better that hand, than
the one over her mouth keeping anything down that might churn up
inside.
Ugh!
Just the thought was making her stomach want to
heave.

She looked around the bar like a deer caught
in headlights until she saw the sign directing her to the lady’s
restroom. She ran as fast as her three-inch red heels could carry
her. She made it to the sink. Nothing came out, but she was there
where safety and security prevailed itself in the shape of a
porcelain god.

She really should have ordered something to
eat. The place did serve food, and it was only yesterday morning
that she remembered eating anything substantial. She skipped lunch
yesterday at the meeting because what they were offering did not
look very good. She planned on a nice dinner at home, to find her
microwave had quit on her. She had not yet unpacked any cooking
pans. Therefore, she ate a few crackers and a diet coke but that
does not constitute a meal. She needed to hit the corner store,
down from her apartment, soon, or she would starve.

She took a swig of water from the sink and
swallowed down. It tasted like nasty water from a sink facet, which
tasted like Perrier compared to that beer glass that she just took
a swig out of.

She peered up at the mirror over the sink and
noticed she looked rather pale. She opened her purse, which was
loaded with a few small things she picked up shopping. She dug
around and found some makeup to touch up her color and a breath
mint in a plastic wrapper. She popped the mint in then stared at
herself and wondered what was so flipping wonderful this time of
year and why this song was playing over again on the bathroom
speakers.

John had peered out the double swinging
door's porthole to notice she was not at the bar. Thank God. When
he made it the bar where she had been sitting, her credit card was
still sitting there along with a full beer. Her purse was gone, but
her coat was still draped over the next barstool. Peeking over the
counter he saw two shopping bags from local stores still sitting on
the floor. The thought ‘Great, she’s still here’ popped into his
head; however, with a meaning, that could go both ways. One he
would have been happy to see her go but from the opposite end, he
also would not mind getting to know her. Give her a second chance
so to speak.

While she was in the backroom, he could do
nothing more than think about her long legs wrapped around him
while his hands tangled up in her long red hair and his body
getting the relief it so desperately craved lately. Thinking how
nothing would be better than a hot looking redhead as an early
Christmas present.

He envisioned how sweet she would look all
spread out on his king-size bed back at his hotel suite. With her
red hair, all fanned out behind her as she lay waiting for his
throbbing cock to enter her. Her eyes would smile with anticipation
and her arms above her head showing her openness. Then a flash of
her tight white ass in the air, bent over his couch and the long
red hair trailing down her back as she arched backwards in
orgasm.

He was no longer sensing a feeling between
his legs. He was rock hard. He took a few deep breaths and
visualized anything that would soften his resolve.

He saw that the bar was down to two tables of
regulars, with their tabs closed and their drinks full. Normally,
they both would finish and leave when they felt like it. Those
booths belonged to them. He had known some of these customers as
long as his brother had started this bar ten years ago. Not too
many of them knew too much about him. He liked to remain the
brother of mystery. However, ever since his brother’s stroke and
triple bypass surgery, he had put all his mystery aside and chose
to help, by running the bar until he fully recovered.

At his age, he was at that dilemma of not
getting any younger, but he still felt young. He was ten years
younger than his older brother was, and he had done very well for
himself. His brother was also successful in a way. This bar was his
family and everyone who was a patron here treated him that way.
Still he wondered sometimes how two great guys, with great parents,
never chose to settle down. After their mom died, all three of the
men in her life, him, his brother and their dad, just did not seem
to want to get close to another woman. He knew it would just hurt
too hard.

As his eyes caught Bobby, a local, sitting at
the farthest table, he shouted out. “Have you seen the woman who
was sitting here? Did she leave?”

“The beauty in the red nice sweater and
heels?” His hands made the signal of a full-figured beauty.

“Yah. The woman who was sitting here?” John
could not help but roll his eyes. Yes, she was gorgeous but she was
trouble. He was sure of that. Just the vision of her looking up at
him with her green eyes shining against her reddish-brown hair and
the cute grin she gave for a split second made him think about all
kinds of ways he wanted to put a permanent smile on her face.
Thoughts came into vision of her mouth, over his hard cock, green
sparkling eyes looking up and red hair draping down her naked back.
He was at it again and figured the bar would hide his
excitement.

“She ran into the restroom. What’d you put in
that beer anyway?” A hearty chuckle resounded from the older
regulars sitting in their standard booth, and John just gave them a
devilish grin.

He wanted to tell, but he was not the type.
He just grabbed the beer and dumped it down the drain. He replaced
it with a glass of water with a lemon slice. Figuring he would buy
her a drink on the house, and then run and hide back to the storage
room again. This way, she could leave without paying.

It was his plan until he watched her walk out
of the restroom and almost glide back to the barstool with a look
on her face, a look that made him even harder that quick. It was
those green eyes with that red hair, and those full luscious lips
that he wanted wrapped around his cock like a Christmas present
that softened his resolve to her.

Her lips looked fuller, her eyes mischievous,
and her walk almost too sexy for this end of town. He had to stay.
He had to ask her what she was doing stopping in at his brother’s
bar, this time of day. It was only two in the afternoon and her
type usually frequented the upper side of town on happy hour.

She sat down and looked up at him with a
seductive smile. “I don’t think I should have ordered a beer.”

“It was flat and I shouldn’t have served you
that. Sorry. Long day. I didn’t notice. What can I get you on the
house that might soothe that mistake over?” Somewhat stumbling over
his words out of guilt, John grabbed a wine glass thinking that was
more her style any ways, and he should give the woman a second
chance. She was after all drop-dead gorgeous.

“Actually I really could use a bite.” A bite
out of him, her mind quickly thought. He was hot. His build was
strong, and his features spelled out Greek God in neon over his
head. He probably had a few girlfriends hanging in the wing and a
steady on his side. Nevertheless, it sure felt good to flirt with
him a little. It was not as if she had set a good first impression
coming in here all cranky.

She quickly envisioned what he would look
like naked, behind that bar serving her. Better yet, servicing her
on the bar, with no one but them and the empty bar to themselves.
Those thoughts put a sexy smile on her face, and she liked the
reaction it got out of him.

“Well my kitchen staff left for the day. We
have sandwiches and chips for the blue plate special. I can whip up
for the stragglers coming in looking for a bite. I’ll be right
back.”

Callie watched him walk or rather stomp to
the back. He seemed sexy as hell, and warm and inviting one second,
and then put out and in a rush the next. Maybe he was gay. Not that
she had anything against gays. Her only new best friends and
neighbors were a gay couple.
'It's just a healthy-looking man
like that, and a sex-starved woman like myself should really get it
on.
Oh my god… did I just say that to myself. I did. I am a
naughty, naughty girl'.

She took a sip of the iced water with a slice
of lemon and had to take note that he was quick to fix his mistake.
However, the ice water was not doing anything to cool her sexually
heated thoughts about the man and what she wanted him to do to her,
or more perversely her to him.

Watching him walk into the backroom, her mind
quickly went to the warm mental place that all women go when they
see a man like that. A flash of warmth filled between her legs as
she could think of nothing better than a slow linger of her fingers
over his chiseled chest. Then letting her fingers wander on down
below to wrap her slender freshly manicured hand around his hard
throbbing cock and letting herself moan out her sexual requests of
desire.

However, the thought of him in bed making her
scream in the throes of orgasm kept slipping into her mind. She
could not imagine him making any mistakes in the love department.
He had what looked to be very large masculine skillful hands; hands
that could wander over every curve on her body and dip into her
warm moistness to get her to the brink. She fanned herself with her
hand for second and tried to come back to reality.

Smiling to herself with her devilish
thoughts, she looked around the bar, with a silly grin on her face
from her last thought. She noticed the place was pretty well empty,
except for the five men, sitting at two different tables, staring
at her. She gave them her confident smile and finger wave and
turned back around watching their reflections in the mirror over
the bar. They were still staring at her. Maybe a bar off the beaten
path was not a wonderful idea.

Moreover, why in blazes, is this flipping
song playing again.

As her hunk of a bartender came back with a
plate of food for her, towel over his arm, wearing a tight fitting
black tee shirt and a very sexy grin on his face, she warmed up all
over instantly. Gay or not, he was hot. Grumpy or not, his looks
were doing things to her body that her new job had made her forget
what she’d like to do to a man like him.

“Here ya go. On the house. What can I get you
to drink to make up for that beer?”

“Oh no, really, I can pay. I just have not
had beer in a really, long time, and I haven’t eaten in a while.
Diet coke please.” She could tell by the look and hard set of his
jaw he was not going to let her pay. He looked like the type of man
who took direction from no one, and no one set him in his
place.

She took a bite from the sandwich, and after
eating microwave garbage for the last month this sandwich was
heavenly. She moaned accordingly. All five men at the two tables
rushed out of the bar. The last one out flipped the sign to
close.

“Oh gosh.” With food still in her mouth, she
chewed quick and swallowed. “I’m sorry you’re closing. I can take
this to go or there’s a bench out front I can eat outside. Let me
get out of your hair.”

John smiled at this woman, which went from a
miserably frazzled nasty, to a sexy apologetic sweet one. He could
not let her leave. Not just yet.

“No sweat. If you don’t mind the fact that
I’ve got shift work to do. My night shift just called in sick, and
I’ll have to close the bar tonight. It's going to be a long day,
besides, I could use the company.” He let the last part of his
sentence roll out with a hint of sex to it, just to test the
waters.

“No please, ignore me on my account. I’ll
just eat in silence. Really, go on ahead and get your work done.
I’ll just sit here in silence.”

He really wanted to stay and chat, but he
just did not see her being his type. Why waste your time he
thought? He glanced at her credit card as he handed it back to her.
“Here ya go Callie O’Conner. It is on the house. I insist.”

She took her card and as their hands touched,
she felt something. A slight tingle or maybe it was just the cold
dry air that caused a slight shocking sensation. Maybe her hand was
tired from all the shopping, or maybe it was the electricity of
their sexual desires. Liking the last part of her thoughts,
whatever it was, she felt it. She was going to embrace it. “No
really I don’t mind paying. I’m sorry about my comment early.”

“Which one?”

She stared at him with an open mouth. Well,
he was straight forward she would give him that. “Well it’s just…
oh never mind.” She watched him turn and start in on some work.
However, that dang song, started over. “Excuse me, but did you
notice that this song keeps playing over and over.”

He turned and looked at her then walked to
the back. Then she heard silence. Well better that than ‘it’s the
most wonderful time of the year’ playing over and over.

Hitting the off button on the sound system
left John with a chuckle. He had put the song on that seemed to
annoy her when she first came in, on replay. Hoping it would make
her leave. Now he would just leave the silence and still hoped she
left. Really though, he had to come to grasps that something was
definitely there. Deep down, just a little part of him would not
mind if she stayed. That would be the part of him, which got him
into bed with women, that were far too young and immature but sexy.
Providing her attitude did not sway back to the woman who first
walked into the bar, she held a slight air of possibility.

As he walked out he saw an awkward smile on
her face, and she mouthed the words “Thanks.” Half her sandwich was
gone along with her diet coke. He refilled it with a smile and set
back to his work.
