She immediately swerved her head towards the
ugly beast and sent large blasts of magic power into it.
The beast immediately fell to the floor,
writhing in pain. “You are really powerful, where did you get all
that power?”
Emily smiled in satisfaction, hoping that the
beast was gone for good.
“I’m not done with you yet.” The beast said
as it hit her hard from behind, scratching her with his nails.
Emily tried hard to maintain her balance, but she couldn’t. She
fell hard on the floor, her back soaked in blood.
Emily stood up and used the only spell her
remaining power could cast. She formed a large circle ball around
herself and is engulfed by magic. She immediately launches herself
at it and hits her tiny stomach.
The creature fell to the floor, as it spat
out a large green substance, which disappeared into the darkness.
Emily could hear the people rejoicing. The barrier began to
fade.
Emily got out and the people raised her in
the air and flung her like a heroine. She begged them to put her
down as she held on to her bag tightly.
As she began to leave the place, a guy came
to meet her. “Hi, I’m Donald. Thanks for everything.”
“Oh, it’s nothing, I had to pass too” Emily
said as she chuckled aloud.
“You were really amazing” he replied.
“Thanks, I have to go now.” Emily said after
studying his cute blue eyes and blonde hair. She turned to go.
“Wait”
“What? Why?” She replied.
“I don’t really have anywhere to go. Can you
take me with you? I kinda got lost before I met myself here.”
“My mission is supposed to be discreet but
since you mean well, you can follow me.” Emily said, still looking
impatient.
CHAPTER 9
Evalle opened her mouth wide as she studied
the room. The walls and floor seemed to be covered in blood. She
looked to the ground as she hit her leg on a skull. “What is this
place?” She asked herself.
Removing her heavy bag from her shoulder, she
sat on floor and brought out the map from her bag. “Am I really in
the right place? God, what is this?” She stood up and put the map
back into her bag.
Evalle carried her bag on her shoulders and
climbed the stairs, looking for a room to rest. “Why does
everything have to be tough? I really need to have a warm bath and
cook a nice meal. This place will give me comfort until I find
whatever I’m supposed to be searching for.
She kicked the first door she saw. She left
her eyes wide open.
The most beautiful kitchen she had ever seen
was right in front of her. She stepped into it and wondered who
lived in the house before and what chased them away. “This place
will make a really good home. I can start a new life, meet a new
guy, get married and have lots and lots of wonderful kids.”
She moved to the large fridge in the corner
of the room and opened it. She was amazed because of all the
various delicacies of food in there. She picked one up. “The food
items in here are all fresh. It seems this place was prepared
specially for me.”
Evalle picked up her bag and hurried out of
the room. “I really need to find a room. This place requires
thorough cleaning. She saw no doors but she kept on moving forward.
She stopped abruptly when she arrived at a long hallway.
“Is this place a hotel or what? It’s so
large.”
She pushed the first door and saw a large
honeymoon suite. She immediately dropped her bag on the bed and
slipped off all her clothes.
Evalle rushed into the bathroom she found in
the room. The walls were stained with blood but she shrugged her
shoulders as she filled the tub with hot water.
Something is wrong with this place. I really
need to spice it up. I can continue with the search later. Oh God,
I’m so tired.
She hopped into the tub and slid in slowly.
“Aargh, this feels really good. Evalle said. “It has been a while
since me. . .” She stopped talking as she heard a pot fall down in
the kitchen. Goose bumps rose all over her skin.
“Who’s there?” Evalle screamed. No one
answered. She jumped out of the tub and wrapped herself in a
towel.
She walked out of the room and ran through
the same passage she followed, heading back to the kitchen to see
what is going on.
As she stepped in the kitchen, she met the
lid of the pot on the floor. A door she didn’t see before swung
open. Evalle screamed.
* * *
“How did you get lost?” Emily asked Donald
who was looking at the disappearing wall. Everyone had started
packing their bags, preparing to leave the place.
“I actually ran away from home.” Donald
replied.
“You did? Why did that happen?” Emily asked,
looking a bit confused.
“Well, my dad wanted to kill me. I didn’t
know where to go. I just continued running till I met myself here.
I really regretted my actions.”
“Why would your dad want to kill you?”
“It’s a really long story but I’ll tell you,
since you are not in a hurry.”
“Okay, I’m listening.” Emily said, looking
for a comfortable place to sit.
“Okay, it started long ago, my mum died when
she gave birth to me. My dad told me that I was too strong and
killed my mum. He said I punched her from the womb and destroyed
some of her blood vessels. She bled from the inside and died. She
was operated upon for them to remove me. I grew in a pod.”
“I’m really sorry about that.” Emily
said.
“Yeah. Thanks. Since when I knew my father,
he had always hated me. I was told that my great grandmother had
amazing powers. I never got to see her. I was told that I got
powers from her.
“I don’t think it’s your fault that she died.
You were little and could not control yourself. Your powers were
too much for you to control.” Emily said, scratching her toe with a
nail she found on the floor.
“I know it’s not my fault, but it’s strange.
I’ve not been able to use any magical power since I was born. I’ve
always tried, but every effort doesn’t always produce a desired
result.
“Maybe your powers were taken away from you
when you were put in the pod. There may also be some other
explanation. It may not be time for your powers to reveal
themselves. If I may ask, how old are you?”
“Is that stuff even possible? I’m twenty
five. It’s getting really long and boring.” Donald replied.
“I’m twenty two. You already know I have
powers. I’m sure you will discover it soon.”
“Wow, you were really amazing. I actually
felt pity for you at the beginning of the fight but before I knew
it, you were winning.” Donald said, making patterns in the
sand.
“Can we leave now? You could be of great
help. I would love to have a companion.” Emily said.
Donald blushed as he stood up and went to
pick his bag.
They began walking towards the narrow path as
they talked.
“We have to take the forest path.” Emily
said.
“It’s really dangerous out there. Where are
we going?” Donald asked.
“Emily began to narrate her ordeal with
Kujoo. “I am going to kill Kujoo and rescue my father. I pray he is
still alive.”
“I feel bad for you. You are really hurt. I’m
sure everything soon be fine. We have to hurry. It’s almost
dark.
THE BATTLE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN.
What happened to Emily's father and Kujoo?
Will the librarian's plot be revealed? What are the two ladies
searching for?
This will be revealed in the sequel of this

Evalle hit her head on a hard substance and
fell to the floor as a great wind sent her flying. “I don't think
I'm ready for this kind of ta. . ." She caught a glimpse of a
shadow from a distance and sought to check it out.
