Emma

“Justice!” I scream as I see Rachel fly into the glass window, watching it shatter around her.  I didn’t think I shoved her that hard. I just saw red.  The bitch killed Danni and took Elizabeth.  I couldn’t help myself.

There’s blood everywhere, so much blood.  I scream for Justice again.

Rachel lies amongst the shattered glass, her body a mass of cuts.  It’s the jagged piece of glass sitting in her neck that scares me the most. Blood spurts from the cut. Rachel’s silent, unmoving.

Justice bursts through the back door, stopping dead in his tracks at the devastation in front of him. He looks at me with shocked, wide eyes.

“It was her.” I whimper. “She killed Danni. She took Elizabeth.”  He rushes to Rachel’s side, feeling for a pulse in the blood around her neck.

“She told you that?” He roars.

At my nod he turns towards her. “No!” He yells out. “Don’t you dare die on me bitch.”

He sags back on his knees, and I know.  I’ve just killed the only lead we had to Elizabeth’s location.  What the fuck have I done?

Chapter Twenty Six

Angel

I’m almost collapsing from exhaustion, but I can’t stop. I need to find Elizabeth. I can’t go home to Eve until I find our girl. As much as I want to go back and see my woman and comfort her I can’t until I have Elizabeth. I won’t return to her empty handed.

We’ve searched the area around Scalp’s house all night.  Both clubs have called in other charters, and if the kids are out here, we’ll find them soon. That’s if the kids are out here. We’ve no fucking clue who’s taken them, or any idea where they’ve been taken to. I just pray that whoever has them is looking after them. If any harm has to come to either of the kids, blood will be spilled.

My phone lights up, and I see Scalp’s name on the screen. Please let him have some news. He’s been camped out at the hospital all night with Maggie.

“Tell me you’ve got something.” I waste no time in greeting, I just get straight into it.

“You’re not going to fucking believe this, Angel.” Scalp sounds broken.  “Maggie’s come round. She’s just fucking told me who took the kids. It’s her sister, Rachel.”

“Rachel? I didn’t know Maggie even had a sister.” I reply.

“It gets worse.” Scalp sighs. “Turns out, Jamie is Satan’s son. To help keep her sister safe from him, Maggie adopted him.”

I almost drop the phone in shock.  Satan had a son? What the fuck is Scalp talking about?

I’m left feeling pretty fucking confused “But Jamie’s your son?”

He breathes heavily down the phone. “No, he’s not my biological son. Maggie can’t have kids, so I thought nothing of it when she told me she wanted to adopt her sister’s kid. I knew he was Rachel’s boy, but Maggie never told me who his father was. Maggie says Rachel was obsessed with Satan, to the point that she wanted to get her some medical help. She suspected Rachel was behind the letter your club received, but Rachel threw her out when she tried to talk to her.  Maggie says it was Rachel who stabbed her yesterday.”

At the reminder that Maggie was stabbed I come to my senses and ask how she is.

“She’s going to be okay, looks like Rachel missed anything vital thank fuck. But you’ve got to find our kids, Angel. I haven’t told her Jamie’s missing yet. Fuck, it will break her. She started asking for him and was getting stressed out so the Doc sedated her again. I can’t leave in case she wakes up.  How’s Eve?”

“Sedated as well.” Shit. How the fuck are we going to find the kids if they’ve been taken by a mad woman? “Any ideas where Rachel would take them?”

“None. I already had guys go to her apartment last night to let her know about Maggie. She’s not come back there yet, I’ve left someone there in case she does.”   Scalp pauses before continuing. “Angel… she’s a druggie club whore.  Satan used her, like he used everyone.  If she’s really obsessed with him, and she’s on drugs… we’ve got to find her.”

He doesn’t need to say anything else.  Satan was the scariest motherfucker I’ve ever met.  If she’s obsessed with him there’s no telling what she’ll do.

My phone beeps to alert me I’ve got another call waiting. “Look Scalp, there’s another call coming in. I’d better take it in case there’s any news. Keep in touch.” I quickly hang up and take the other call. It’s Justice.

“Angel, you need to get your ass over to the tattoo shop now.” Before I have chance to ask him anything, he’s hung up on me.  What the fuck has happened now?

Justice

I’ve called Prez, Angel, Ink and Cowboy to get down here. I daren’t pull anyone else from the search, but we need to see what we can do, now that we know who took the kids.

I look at the devastation that’s the shop front, and wish to fuck Emma wasn’t such a strong person sometimes.  She has a temper, and letting it loose just cost us our only witness.

Ink’s the first to arrive.  I quickly fill him in on what Emma’s told me.  The dead bitch on the ground is the same one who killed Danni and took the kids.

“I don’t get how the window smashed.” I mutter.  “Isn’t it supposed to be stronger than that? Bitch went flying though it.”

Ink looks over at me, shock on his face. “It was temporary glass.” He groans. “Remember that fucking drunk driver who smashed into the shop last month?” I nod my head. “Well they couldn’t get the right size glass, and I refused to have a shop front made of plywood till they could, so they fitted some plain glass.” He wrings his hands together. “The new glass is coming next week. This shouldn’t have happened.” He looks around.  “Where’s Emma?”

“The cops took her over to the coffee shop. She’s in shock.  It was upsetting her too much looking at all this.” I gesture to the shop front.

The rest of the guys pull up together.  Angel is the first off his bike, running up to us.

“What the fuck happened here?” He asks.

How do I tell him that the woman who took his kid is lying dead at his feet? Ink saves me the trouble, quickly filling him and the rest of the guys in.

Angel sinks into a chair, his head in his hands. What the fuck are we going to do now? The person who took the kids is lying dead on the floor, leaving us none the wiser as to their whereabouts. If she did this alone, then that means those kids are going to be on their own now. I thought today couldn’t get any worse, but then Angel fills us in on his phone call with Scalp.

“Satan had a son?” Prez groans.

“Oh shit.” Ink adds.

“Scalp didn’t have a clue. Maggie hid that little nugget from him.” Angel tells us.  “Shit, that means that boy is family. He’s my nephew.” Angel looks haggard.  Not only is his daughter missing, he’s now found out he has a nephew he knew nothing about, and he’s missing as well.

“How the fuck are we going to find the kids now?”

Chapter Twenty Seven

Ted

I followed Holly to this shithole a few days ago.  Why she’d want to come here was beyond me, and then I saw him.  Justice. The perfect big brother. That explains why she’s here. That fucker is mine.

I’ve kept my distance, because I don’t want her to see me.  I want her to pay for what happened to me, but I want her brother to pay more.

I was watching her yesterday when her friend was killed.  I hadn’t expected that.  They were all too busy worrying about the dead girl. Holly was too busy screaming and crying to see me watching from the shadows. They were all too distracted to notice the woman that ran off. I saw her though, and I decided to follow her.

I followed her to the house on the outskirts of Carnal. Keeping hidden, I watched as she snuck around to the back yard. I followed. Something about this girl intrigued me. I watched her as she stabbed the woman.  When she came out of the yard with the two scared kids and drove off, I drove behind her all the way. She didn’t realize, although she almost caught me out when she braked at the last minute for that turn off. I didn’t stop though, I just drove past, turned around and followed her to the cabin. I waited outside all night, then I tailed her back here to Severed and the tattoo shop this morning. She left the kids behind.

That’s a shit load of following, but it looks like it’s going to pay off.  I don’t know quite what happened over there, but she’s dead.

The blonde that was with Holly yesterday has just come into the coffee shop with the cops.  They’re questioning her.  Pretending to be engrossed in my paper, I listen in instead.

As I snoop, I hear something very interesting. The little girl that’s locked up back at the cabin is part of the club that Justice is in. They have no idea where the kids are.  I do though.

I could be an upstanding citizen, walk over to the cops right now, and tell them where the kids have been hidden.  But, I’m not an upstanding citizen. I’m a man who’s out for revenge.

That fucker cut my dick off.  The hospital did their best, but it’s never going to be good enough. I can’t even take a piss without a ton of painkillers.

He’s ruined my life.

I see an opportunity to get my revenge. Sure, there are two innocent kids involved, but who gives a shit really.  If anything happens to them, then they’re collateral damage. This is between Justice and me. He needs to pay for what he’s done. I’m a fucking joke now. For all the good my dick is, I might as well not have it. Sure I can piss through it, but I’ll never be able to fuck anyone with it.

I noticed a couple of computers at the back of the coffee shop when I walked in. One of the policemen looks over when I stand, but goes back to questioning the girl when he sees I’m heading to the rear of the coffee shop, instead of walking past them to the front door.

Opening up the word processing package I think about how to word my demand.

Justice

If you want to see the kids alive again, then meet me at the cabin off Jacobsfield Road in one hour.

Come alone.

Don’t tell anyone. If you do, I’ll put a bullet in each of their heads and leave their bodies at the compound gates for their mothers to see.

If you don’t come, then not only do I kill the kids, but your bitch of a sister as well.

You owe me.

Just to be sure, I add in the directions to the cabin. I want to make this as easy as I can for him.  I make sure no one’s watching me as I print my demand off.

My coffee’s still warm, so I sit back and enjoy it.  There’s no rush here. Let them all sweat a little more. It’s obvious from what I already overhead that no one has a clue where the kids are, so it’s unlikely, as remote as the cabin is, that they’ll find them anytime soon.

When I’ve finished my coffee I leave the shop, nodding politely at the officers as I pass.  Stupid fuckers haven’t got a clue that I’m the key to finding what they’re looking for.  I call in at the general store. I’ll need an envelope to deliver my letter in.  I also need a way of delivering it.

As I walk out of the store I have to duck back inside the doorway. Justice is heading over to the coffee shop, and I don’t want him to see me yet.  I need to retain the element of surprise.  I don’t have to wait long before he comes out, the blonde girl with him, and they both get on his bike.  I’m guessing he’s taking her back to the compound, but just to be safe I follow at a safe distance.

I was right. The gate opens to allow him access, and he rides in.  I need him to stay in there and not come straight back out.  My prayers are answered when I see him get off the bike and escort her into the clubhouse.

Driving back a short way to towards the town I find what I’m looking for.  A group of boys, performing stunts on their bikes at a street corner. Winding my window down I gesture for one of them to come closer.  They look hesitant at first, seems their parents warned them about talking to strange men in cars, well good for them.

“One of you guys want to earn five dollars?” I shout over.  The oldest looking boy saunters over to the car. He’s trying to look cocky, but to me he just looks immature.

“What ya want?” He asks. “I don’t do drugs,” He looks at me suspiciously.  I might not look my best right now. After all, I spent the night outside a cabin in the woods.

“Just want you to deliver a letter for me.” I hold the envelope and a five dollar bill just out of his reach.

“Wouldn’t’ a fuckin stamp be cheaper?” He snorts with laughter. Cocky little shit.

“Yeah, sure, but this letter’s important. It’s a surprise. I need it delivered now, don’t have time to wait for the mailman.” I wave the money in front of him. He’s tempted, but he’s cautious.

“It’s not illegal is it?” He asks. He’s wavering.

“Nah, it’s just a joke I’m playing on an old friend.” I reassure him.

“Make it ten dollars and you’re on.” He blusters. Greedy little shit. Part of me admires his enterprise. The other part of me wants to rip his fucking head off.

I pull another note from my wallet and put it with the other one.  I carefully explain what I want him to do, and make sure that he repeats the message exactly as I gave it to him.  Satisfied, I hand the envelope and the money over.

I watch as he waves goodbye to his friends, and heads off in the right direction.  I don’t have much time.  Pretty soon I’m going to be alone with that shit, and I’ll be exacting my revenge.  I drive off to the cabin, whistling as I go.
