Then, she noticed a few of the bikers from Satan’s Attitude looking toward the door and her eyes didn’t believe what she was seeing. There stood her daughter Angel Rose and her granddaughter Chrissy and her stepdaughter Bebe.

The blonde was stunning with her light blonde hair, which hung down her back and was curled at the bottom. Angel looked exactly like her mother Violet, except younger and taller. She was holding the child’s hand and both were dressed in dark blue. Bebe was taller with dark hair that she had curled the same as the blonde. She was dressed in a short black dress with rhinestones all around the low neckline. Her daughter Dusty rushed toward them as Violet got out of her chair.

Rebel looked to see where Violet was rushing off to, then saw his daughters. He took off right after her and hoped Violet wouldn’t cause a scene.

usty reached Angie first and hugged her tightly. She gave Bebe a hug too and knelt down to hug Chrissy. “Who’s your favorite aunt?” she whispered.

Chrissy whispered back, “You are, but don’t tell Aunt Bebe. Did you know Mema and grandpop are here? They’re coming up behind you.”

Violet pushed Dusty aside to get to Chrissy and kissed her chubby cheeks over and over. Rebel helped Dusty up and kissed her forehead. He did the same to Angie and Bebe. They watched Violet fuss over Chrissy until Rebel decided they should all sit at a table.

The three younger women exchanged glances and looked pointedly at Violet Rose. “It’s Dee’s wedding. Get along for a few hours, please. If she gives you any shit, I’ll handle it. I promised Whiskey there would be no trouble.”

Rebel rarely asked them for much, so they found their table and sat down by Lacey-Jane. Violet insisted on taking Chrissy around to meet everyone, and she was truly excited to see her granddaughter. Rebel watched her like a hawk and followed them as Violet moved from table to table.

“I don’t know why he puts up with that evil bitch. Ang, how can you let her near Chrissy?” Dusty exclaimed.

Angie shrugged. “It’s only for a short time. Aren’t you going to ask us how we knew there was a wedding that we basically crashed?”

Lacey-Jane looked wounded. “I told Dee to expect you. See your names on the place cards? Once you said you’d be here, I called Dee and she arranged this.” She waved her hand over the table. “Plus, she talked to Kima, Jack’s sister, and she has a house if we all want to rent it together. It’s big and it has furniture. Whiskey said I could live here with Shanna.”

Dusty looked at all of them in shock. “Angel Rose, nice of you to tell me. I would have asked Darko if you could have stayed with us.”

Bebe finally spoke up. “We didn’t want to put anyone out, honey. We plan to live in New Jersey again. Until we got up here, it was safer not to tell anyone but Lacey-Jane and, it seems, Deidra. Angie decided to finally tell Hyway the truth about everything.”

Dee walked over and asked Lacey-Jane to help her with her wedding dress, and the two left the table.

“Kima is my friend, but her ol’ man is in Bound for Hell. Did Lacey-Jane tell you that, Ang?” Dusty pushed back the hair that was escaping her French twist. “I’ve had it with this hair, I need to take it down. All the pictures were taken already, and my hair is too long for this.” She began to pull the hairpins out and Angie helped her until her hair fell free.

Violet was getting close to the table as Lacey-Jane rushed up. “Jack’s adopted sister just went off on Dee and then Dee slapped her. I’ve got to go and get him.”

“Chrissy, can you be a big girl and sit here until Mema, your mommy, and aunties get back, honey?” Violet coaxed.

Angie went into a bag and got a coloring book and crayons out and placed them in front of her daughter. “Stay in the chair, Chrissy.”

The four women headed to the room that was set aside for the bride. They could hear yelling from inside the room. With a shove, Violet pushed the door open.

Violet Rose, Dusty, Angie, and Bebe stood there looking at the two women arguing.

“Did I hear you call our Deidra a slut and biker trash?” Violet Rose advanced on the pregnant woman who was calling Deidra names.

“Violet, don’t. She’s Jack’s adopted sister and she’s not herself. I sent Lacy-Jane to get her ol’ man to take her home. Jo, don’t make this any worse, you do not want to mess with Violet.” Dee knew Violet’s famous temper and she was afraid Jo might get knocked out by the older woman. “Dusty, could you get Jo out of here, please?”

Dusty moved forward and tried to grab Jack’s sister Jo, but she refused to move. Violet was screaming obscenities at the woman while Deidra looked miserable. Finally, her ol’ man came for her with a few other bikers and Rebel. Jack got Deidra out of the room after speaking quietly to Rebel.

Violet looked pissed off and suddenly her ol’ man was by her side. “I promised Whiskey you’d behave today, Violet. You’ll be going back to the hotel if there’s another outburst from you. Go sit with Chrissy and behave.” He watched as his wife walked out of the room with her head held high.

Rebel looked at Dusty, who stood off to the side. “I want to speak to Dusty alone. You all go back to the reception.” Rebel patted the sofa next to him and Dusty sat down. “You haven’t been home in a long time. I hear you’re living with Darko. Are you happy?”

“Rebel, home to me is New Jersey. I know you mean well, but I can’t stand Violet. I know she is your wife and my mother, but the things that happened in the past, I can’t forgive or forget them.”

Rebel said nothing but patted her leg.

She continued. “I’m happy for now with Darko. He wants more from me, but I don’t know if I have more to give. I think I love him, but after Loco, I am not sure if I can love. I don’t even know what love really is. For now, it’s working. I know my mother expected me to find a man in Satan’s Attitude, but I can’t be that close to her.”

Rebel said nothing but held her in his arms, cursing the secrets that he and Violet held, and swearing that the truth was going to come out very soon.

Dusty had a question that had been on her mind for some time. “Rebel, where is my daddy buried? I want to go visit his grave. Violet wouldn’t tell us, and Diablo hated to talk about my daddy. He did try to stop Violet from getting rid of me, but she had him wrapped around her pinkie.”

“Dusty, do you remember your dad at all?” Rebel had to know.

She looked up at him and smiled. “Of course I do. He looked like a younger you. Violet said that you were his twin. I remember when you got out of jail and there was all that fighting. I was sure there had been a mistake and that you were our daddy, coming to take us away from that evil witch. Angie thought that, too. It took a long time for Violet to convince us that you weren’t him, too. That is when we found out he had a twin brother. I think that was the first time I ever saw Diablo really hit Violet, she went flying across the room.” Dusty smiled at the memory.

“What was life with Violet like? Was she good to you girls at all?” Rebel watched his daughter carefully.

“We were always in her way unless there was a reason to bring us out. Diablo was much nicer and he made sure we got to go to school and had nice clothes. He treated us as well as he treated his daughter. Angie was Violet’s favorite because they look so much alike. She used to say that Angel was her sister.” She rubbed the tears from her eyes.

Rebel hated Violet more than he ever had in that moment. “Don’t cry. Let’s get this wedding over with and I promise you that I’ll tell you anything you want to know. If I could have changed things for you and Angie, I swear I would have.”

“I always tried to get her to love me, but I looked more like my father, Diablo said. It brought her bad memories because she loved him so much, I think. Angie was lucky; she met Hyway and fell in love. I stayed at their house as much as I could until that bastard Loco saw me. Diablo was just getting sick. He didn’t know he had the cancer, and Violet thought I should settle down. I wasn’t even sixteen when she packed up my stuff and made me leave.” Dusty’s tears were flowing freely now.

“As soon as I knew what Loco and Rabid were up to, I made sure I ended him. Never could get Rabid, but I did my best to help you, girl.” Rebel was trying to contain his temper.

Dusty looked at him in surprise. “Oh my God, you killed Loco?”

“Yeah, I did. And if I’d known earlier what Vi was doing, I’d have come and gotten you. Now dry your eyes before Darko comes looking for you.” He ran his calloused fingers down her face, wiping away the tears as best as he could.

Dusty finally had the hint of a smile on her face. “Thank you. I used to pray he’d die. Everyone thought I killed him somehow. I would have if I could have. They said his bike exploded and I made a bomb, as if I knew how.” She looked at Rebel strangely, a thought crossing her mind. “My dad used to wipe my tears like that.”

“Don’t give that piece of shit Loco another thought. He ain’t worth any more of your time. Why don’t you go make yourself pretty and I’ll see you in a few minutes?” Rebel stood up and left the room and went in search of Violet Rose.

He found her sitting with Chrissy, his shadow falling over the table. She looked up at him and wondered what the hell had him in such a foul mood. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up as Rebel yanked her out of her seat and pulled her out of the reception hall.

Once out in the parking lot, he looked at her with such hatred that Violet was truly scared.

“So I’m a twin now? Why didn’t you tell me that? You bitch, if you didn’t want the girls, you knew I did. Well, chew on this Violet: your stepdaughter, Bebe? She’s my biological daughter, too. Diablo didn’t seem to be able to make babies, so when Carmella came to me and asked me to give her a kid, I did. Make up any more lies to those girls and I’ll choke the life out of you.”

He strode away, leaving her standing there openmouthed.

Violet walked slowly back into the Country Club and found herself a bathroom. She tried to calm herself down as much as she could, but there was this odd feeling that life was about to change for her. Bebe was Rebel’s daughter and she had never saw that coming. It all made sense now. She still loved Bebe, but she doubted that Diablo had known that she wasn’t his daughter. Rebel had left out a few things too, like how Carmella had gotten caught fucking Rebel and that was why she’d disappeared and Rebel had been charged with her murder. She wondered how much Rebel knew about her affair with Diablo before he went to jail.

She prayed he didn’t find out after of these years.

hiskey and Elena were unaware of the drama that buzzed around them. They only had eyes for each other and they danced quite a bit. A few times, Whiskey felt Thrash’s or Joy’s eyes glaring at him but he paid no attention to them. This was his daughter’s wedding and his time with Elena. Nothing was going to ruin that for him. He watched as Deidra cut the wedding cake and laughed as she smashed some of it into Mad Jack’s face. Elena laughed alongside him and held his hand firmly.

As the wedding was winding down, Whiskey declined attending the parties that were being held. He wanted to be alone with Elena and have her to himself. They drove back to her house separately, as Zero had brought his car to the Country Club. He let Elena lead the way and thought she looked so cute in her big truck.

He parked next to her and paid her babysitter. He removed his tux and stripped down to his wife-beater before sitting on the couch. Elena quickly made coffee while sneaking peeks at him. As soon as the coffee was ready, she brought it out on a tray and placed it on the ottoman.

“Do you mind if I change? I’m dying to get this dress off, but I need help with the zipper. Would you unzip it for me?”

Whiskey stood up and he brushed her hair out of the way and his fingers left a path of fire on her skin as he unzipped her dress.

Elena walked to the bedroom to change as he took his flask and added whiskey to both cups. He wasn’t sure where this would go with Elena. He wanted her badly, but he wouldn’t push her. He didn’t see pictures of Hunter and he wondered if she was truly done mourning him. Elena wasn’t just a fuck; she was the type of woman you made a commitment to. He wanted to know everything about her.

Elena came back dressed in black leggings and an oversized gray sweatshirt. Whiskey looked at her and liked her choice of clothing.

“I added a shot to the coffee, darlin’.”

Elena sat on the floor and looked at the man before her. There was such a pull to be with him, it was scaring her.

“Whiskey, what’re we doing? You make me feel alive again. I haven’t felt this way in such a very long time. It’s scaring me, to be honest.”

“Elena, I won’t push you into anything until you’re ready. I’ll be honest with you. I’m no angel, and I’m trying to be a better man for my girls. I want a relationship. I’m no good single. I want a son or two, and I like marriage. When I’m settled, I don’t stray none. I did with Margo, but she was a big mistake. I don’t want to make those kinda mistakes again.”

“Are you asking me to have a relationship with you and maybe more?” Elena wanted to make sure she heard him right.

“I’m asking you to trust me and get to know me. I’ll be coming to Jersey often to check on Shanna. We have a chapter way down in Southern Jersey, so I have a few reasons to come up here. What I’d really like to do is lay in bed and just hold you, nothing more, darlin’.”
