With the front of his pants open, he lifted his hips
just enough to let her ease the fabric down. His dick slapped his abs and
smeared its clear liquid as it struck. But she didn’t take his jeans all the
way down and off. She stopped when they were down to just above his knees. Then
leaning over, she placed her flattened tongue against the base of his dick and
slowly licked a trail up to the angry red mushroom head. Slate moaned loudly
and tried to catch his breath. He had never felt any sexual experience before
near the intensity that she made him feel.

While suckling
the leaking spongy head, one of her soft delicate hands wrapped the base of his
dick and slowly pulled up and down while her other hand glided and teased the
hair and skin on his inner thigh as it traveled up to wrap around his sack. She
rolled and teased his balls and sucked the pre-cum out of his dick. His release
caught him by surprise, slamming into him suddenly. His balls pulled hard and
tight into his body, jetting his essence into her mouth. Katie hummed around
his dick head and drank down every drop that escaped his shaft. She slowed down
until he became too sensitive, and then, letting the appendage slip from her
mouth, she kissed her way up his treasure-trail, over his navel, and up his
ripped abs. Bypassing his pecs, she kept her trail centered until she reached
his neck.

Her administrations were getting the attention of his
dick again. It twitched and slowly started to fill back up with blood. He felt
the warm puffs of her breath on his heated skin and heard his heart thumping
hard in his ears. Her arousal was heavy around him, and as she nipped his neck
and shoulder, his cock came fully back to life aided with the thought to do the
same thing to her neck. His canines descended through his gums, and his mouth
watered, craving for the taste of her.

Again, she pulled away, leaving him feeling cold and
empty. She climbed off the bed and stood just a little ways from him. Her eyes,
filled with want, never strayed from his as he lay watching to see what she
would do. He was eager to see what she had planned, as so far she had surprised
him immensely. With need, mixed with mischief playing in her eyes, she
unbuttoned the top of her pants. His eyes were pulled toward the motion of her
hips as they swayed back and forth and around as if to music only she could
hear. She hooked her thumbs in the top of her pants and worked them down slowly
and methodically, giving him a rich show of curves and skin. Her movements fed
his desires, and he couldn’t keep quiet as she stripped for him.
“Oh yeah, Baby-Kate.
I love how you move. You are so
beautiful, so sexy.” He urged her on with his rough whispered words … that is,
when he could get his tongue unglued from the roof of his mouth. It was a
recurring problem.

Her lacy true blue undies hugged her treasures, and
her tasty breasts rolled and jiggled while she flicked her leg out, tossing her
pants away from her. She laid her hands flat against her sides and slid them
down until her middle fingers slid beneath the waistline. Then rolling her hips
around, she turned so her backside was facing him. She slowly lowered the
pretty fabric, gliding her hands over her thighs and then her calves following
them down, giving Slate a stunning view of her moist slit, which glistened with
her desire. Slate took in a deep breath and savored the scent of her provocative
state. He had to pinch the base of his twitching dick to keep from coming
again.

“Come here.” His voice had deepened to a growl.

Her walk was that of a predator, and the look on her
face made his lion roar with excitement. Slate held his hands out for her, and when
she took them, she climbed up on the bed. He pulled her up his body.

“Put your legs over me, and grab the headboard.” He
let out a pleased growl when she complied without question or hesitation. He
wrapped his arms around, cupping her butt cheeks in his hands, and pulled her
into the position he wanted. His face was directly beneath her folds, so he
didn’t waste any more time. Lifting his head and pulling her down, he flattened
his tongue and licked a long and slow path from her den to her nub.

Slate let his tongue taste and explore
her sweet folds as she writhed above him, keening and
shouting in euphoric pleasure. He didn’t realize how close she was, and he
didn’t think he was at it long when he felt her muscles spasm around his lips
and her juices coat his tongue.

After she had her senses back, he directed her down
his body and lined up the head of his dick, then drove up into her as he pushed
her down onto him. Her heated and slicked channel surrounded his phallus in a
tight embrace. He felt his instincts take over, and he was lost to the pleasure
of it all as their two bodies slapped together. The pain of his injuries was completely
forgotten by both lovers as they melded together with loud shouts of pleasure
and the thumping of the bed.

Katie stiffened and screamed her release, her channel clamping
hard around his rod as he continued to piston in and out of her. Slate’s balls
pulled tight, and an urge in his chest and teeth had him pulling his mate down,
sinking his long canines deep into the apex of her neck. Her shout of pain
morphed into a high pitched orgasm, her channel clamping down even harder than
before on his shaft. At the taste of her blood on his tongue, he stiffened, and
his balls pulled tight against his body. Jet after jet of his seed shot into
her wet, heated passage. He felt their bond click into place before he followed
his mate into black oblivion. His last thoughts were
hallelujah,
she’s a screamer,
mine.

Chapter Eight

Katie woke with a smile on her face, and a very sore
body. Draped possessively over her waist was the strong arm of her mate
spooning tight against her back.
Mate!
I’m mated!
A flutter of excitement
and a giddy, happy feeling of completion washed over her, and she quietly did
some exaggerated breathing exercises to keep herself under control.

She looked up
through the window above their bed and could see it was still dark out so she
couldn’t have been out too long. Carefully removing herself from her mate, she
eased herself off the bed.
Seriously, I’m
mated!

Looking over Slate’s injuries, she was relieved to see
they didn’t pull any of the stitches. It helped that shifters healed faster
than humans, or she figured they would have most definitely been pulled. They had
been pretty rough in their activities … and loud. An impish grin washed over
her face with that last thought.

With a growl from her stomach alerting her to how long
it had been since she had last eaten, as quietly as she could, she put on her
discarded clothes and slipped out of the room and down the stairs. She hadn’t
really gotten a tour yet, but the space was open enough to easily navigate and
explore. She didn’t dwell anywhere enough to examine anything, though. She was
on a mission looking for the kitchen.

Once she found the kitchen, she stopped and took in
the large open area with its rust colored slate tile floor. It had another
entrance at the end of a long large kitchen counter island that doubled as a
breakfast bar. A six burner electric range and two of the biggest fridges she
had ever seen in a private home furnished the space. She guessed that only one
may actually be the fridge and the other might be the freezer. The area gave
her a cozy rustic vibe, and she loved it.

Making her way to one of the two-door refrigerated
cabinets, she opened it up to see it completely full of freezer goods.
Yup, that means the other on must be the
fridge.
Opening the other appliance, she was delighted to see how stocked
the cooling unit was. Grabbing some things to make sandwiches, she bumped her
hip against the fridge door to close it.

After placing her booty on the counter, she scrounged
around looking for the bread and utensils she needed. She washed the lettuce
and cut tomatoes and onions and was quite pleased when she had three large
sandwiches, one for her and two for her mate. She hoped, with Slate being a
shifter, that only two would be enough for him for now.

She grabbed the lettuce and mayonnaise and turned to
place it into the fridge when she saw, standing in the kitchen coming towards
her, a dark blue giant winged demon with teeth longer and sharper than any she
had ever seen. Her stomach felt like it leaped into her skull, taking her heart
with it.

Katie screamed and threw the lettuce and mayonnaise
jar at the thing. She turned around to see another giant winged demon standing
in the entrance on the other side of the kitchen. Screaming again, she didn’t
know what else to do. Seeing the knife she used still on the counter, she
grabbed it and held it out in the most threatening manner she could. Her back
bumped against the fridge as she swung the knife back and forth between the two
creatures.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa!”
A yell brought her back around to the second demon.
Standing beside him with his hands up in placation, with his blue eyes wide was
Enzo. “Katie, what are you doing? Put the knife down.”

Katie had no doubts her eyes were as wide or more so,
and her breathing was getting difficult.
“Ss-s-stay b-back!”
Her chest hurt from the lack of control over her breathing. She was starting to
hyperventilate.

Katie could hear voices but couldn’t make them out.
She focused on bringing her breathing under control as she continued to swing
the knife back and forth. A familiar voice grabbed her attention. “What the
fuck!” Slate roared in obvious rage.

Katie looked around to where the first monster stood
and saw Slate limping forward with sweat forming on his brow. That was when she
noticed his eyes were no longer brown. They had turned into the golden color
she noticed he took on when his lion was close. She didn’t know if it was her
he was mad at or the others, so she stood still, but her eyes wouldn’t agree to
that. They kept darting around, which was starting to give
her
a
headache … or maybe that was the stress level she was suffering from,
or both. Either way, she was getting really sick to her stomach.

“Baby-Kate,” Slate’s voice was low with a growl, but
it wasn’t angry. It was more like he was trying to reassure her. “I need you to
put the knife down.” He slowly walked towards her with his arms up. “Please,
give me the knife.” Katie let him walk up to her, and he wrapped his hands
around her wrist with the knife and put slight pressure on it, then took the
knife as she let go. She hadn’t realized she had been holding the knife so tightly
that her hand had a hard time letting it go. Slate placed it on the counter,
then
drew her into his arms.

“It’s all right, Baby-Kate. I’ve got you. Everything
will be all right.” He kissed her on her temple and rubbed her back. His heat
and scent went along with his soothing tenor, bringing her breathing back under
control, and her mind further focused.

Still secure in his arms, she looked over her shoulder
at the giant winged thing. Lettuce still stuck to parts of his chest, and on
the floor behind him was the plastic jar of mayonnaise. If it had been glass,
it would have most definitely been broken.

“Don’t you see them, too?” she whispered.

“See what?” He leaned back and looked in her eyes and
turned in the direction she was staring. His brows rose high on his head. “Do
you mean the gargoyles?”

“You mean it isn’t a demon?”

Slate laughed out loud. It didn’t make her feel good
about herself. She soured her face and tried to pull back, but Slate wouldn’t
let her go. After the extreme shock, she still didn’t have complete control on
her emotions, and it hurt to have her mate laugh at her. Tears welled up in her
eyes, and she struggled against him.

“Stop!
I’m sorry, love, I wasn’t trying to hurt your feelings.” She didn’t have the
heart to keep struggling, so she stilled in his arms as he introduced her.
“Honey, this is Dultyn, and the other is Bogdon. They are gargoyles. There is
another one around here somewhere, and I’ll introduce you to him later.”

“We did not mean to frighten you.” Dultyn’s low voice
was a rumble that was actually very pleasant to hear.

Now she felt mortified. No one wanted to be looked at
like they were a monster. “I’m sorry for my reaction. I didn’t know there were
gargoyles. I only knew about shifters and vampires.”

Enzo snickered. “I don’t know which side of you to
fear more, the angry side or the frightened to death part.”

She turned around to see a smug look painted across
Enzo’s face. Katie raised a brow and narrowed her eyes. “Oh that should be an
easy one if you remember what I said in the van.” The comment wiped the smirk
off his face.

“All right, that’s enough, Baby-Kate,” Slate gently
admonished. He brushed her cheeks, “Are you ok now?”

She noticed the way he moved. He was most definitely in
pain. Her nurturing nature kicked in. “What are you doing out of bed?” She
wrapped an arm around his waist and started to lead him out of the kitchen.

Dultyn moved out of the way as they passed. “Would you
like for me to bring your food up to you?” he asked.
