“Let’s see.
I’ve given it some thought, and I think I’d really like that.”

They rubbed
noses.

“How about
that celebratory cup of coffee?” asked
Jake.

“You think
we’re really going to go for coffee or to my place to fix those taps?”

“They loose
again?” asked Jake.

“I think they
do need checking out.”

They held
hands while heading for Jake’s car.

“I’ve never
asked you what Gen is short for, and seeing how you’re going to be my wife I
guess now’s a good time to know.”

“Genevieve.
Can you see why I use Gen?”

“I like it.
Maybe I’ll start calling you that.”

“You do and
the wedding’s off.”

They both
laughed as Jake put her hand to his mouth and kissed the back of it.

He was happy.
He was at peace. He now had a future to look forward to.

Sadie stood
smiling, looking out her office window at the happy couple walking away. She didn’t
hear her phone ringing until the receptionist called to her.

“Okay, I have
it,” she shouted back.

“Hello.
Perfect Pairing, Sadie Sutton speaking.”

“Ms. Sutton.
My name’s Lucy Davis, and a friend recently told me about Perfect Pairing. I
was wondering if you have offices in
Helena
,
Montana
.”

“Yes, we do.”

She smiled.
Just a little lie
.

“I know
you’re supposed the match me up with someone, but I already have my heart set on
one guy.”

Sadie tapped
the pencil on her desk. “And you can’t simply ask him out?”

“You just
don’t ask Bryce Connors out. He’s
the
top rodeo rider, and every girl wants him. But I want him more.”

Nothing like knowing
what you want.

“So can you
get him for me?”

“Well, I
don’t work magic if that’s what you’re thinking.”

Sadie crossed
her fingers while she said that.
Though she had to be careful
when she did use some magic.
She didn’t want it to look too easy or
someone would notice.

“No, but I’ve
heard you’re the best matchmaking service around. So you think you can help
pair us up?”

“Oh, I think
we can at least give it a try.”

“Great, I’m
in the middle of my shift right now, but I’ll call you tomorrow and get
directions to your office.”

Sadie jotted
down their names.
Montana
,
rodeo riders, looked like she’d be getting herself some cowboy boots and a hat
for this next Perfect Pairing.
