o
you think they’re going to be alright?” I asked Lonnie as the gate locked in front of us.
He shrugged. “Better in there than anywhere else, right?”
I nodded and sighed.
“Shit,” I said. I’d just remembered.
“What?”
“I need to call my boss. Again. Tell him I’m going to need to take a few vacation days.”
He nodded. “Alright. Then let’s go back and tell Twatface the good news.”
I grinned. That fucker had kept my sister from me for his own twisted idea of how to build publicity for a stupid rock band. It was going to be fun telling him that his bassist wasn’t coming back. Let’s see that smarmy little fuck deal with that.
I searched my phone for the number, and then hit dial. As I did so I noticed the clock in the corner. It was just past midnight. Shit. I was amazed the rehab had accepted their new residents at that hour. Must be 24 hour service for their VIP customers.
“Ava?” he answered. He sounded pissed. And tired.
“Hi. I’m so sorry. But, my sister. She’s gone into rehab. I know I’ve used my personal days, but I’m going to need to take some vacation days too--”
“Take all the vacation days you need,” he said, interrupting me. I heard him yawn.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” I said, hardly believing his kindness.
“And when you’re done with your extended vacation I suggest you start looking for another job. I’ll file your paperwork in the morning. We’ll leave a box for you at the security office.”
“Wait, what?” My blood ran cold.
“Don’t call me again. Good night, Ava.”
“Fuck you! Fuck you very much!” I managed to get in before he hung up.
Lonnie turned to look at me, a quizzical look on his face.
“Fucker just fired me.”
“Oh, shit.”
He put his arms around me and pulled me into his chest. It felt good to have someone hold me.
“Do I need to go beat him down?”
I giggled into the smoky leather jacket in front of me, as I shook my head.
“He sounds like an arsehole. Why don’t you let me go give him a couple of black eyes, maybe have him eating through a straw for a while?”
Would he do that for me, I wondered. As if reading my mind he answered.
“I will you know. If you let me.”
I lifted my head from his chest. “Thanks, but no. I was getting sick of that place anyway.”
It was true, I was. But I still needed the paycheck. Unless I started dipping into the money Mom and Dad had left us, but I had promised myself that was for Lily’s college fund. Lily, my drug addict sister. I let out a sigh. Where had it all gone wrong, I wondered.
“Well don’t worry. I’ll look after you until you sort something out.” He squeezed my shoulders and held me out in front of him. His eyes were stern and brooked no argument. He meant it. He
would
look after me. I gave him a brave smile. God it was good to have someone to look after me again. There hadn’t been anyone to really do that since the car accident. He reached a hand clad in fingerless leather gloves and wiped a tear away from my cheek. The touch was soft but the strength in the hand and body behind was anything but.
“Come on. Let’s get back in the car and go give Chad the news,” he said.
I nodded and pulled out my keys from my bag. I gave one last look at the dimly lit building where my sister was being looked after, no longer my responsibility. For the time being at least.
W
e stood
at the door of Chad’s room. He was wearing only boxers and we’d just awakened him from sleep. I was surprised by his toned torso as he stood in the doorway staring out at us and blinking. He was no patch on a real man like Lonnie, but he wasn’t the pale soft-bodied suit I’d thought he was. It had only taken a few words to take him from bleary eyed confusion to red faced panic.
“What the fuck do you mean he’s not coming back?”
“He’s quit. Finito. Done. All finished up.”
“He’s done?”
“Done.”
“But the final show on Saturday. Shit.”
“The final show’s on Friday, Chad. You’re losing it.”
“Not that final show. There’s another one. I didn’t tell you about it yet.”
Lonnie and I both raised our eyebrows at him. This sounded ominous.
“What the fuck do you mean? Have you been keeping yet more shit from us, Chad Chad?”
“Look, I don’t
enjoy
keeping secrets,” he said, clearly lying, “I just have to act
fluidly
. I have to react to changing situations. I’m trying to make this motherfuckin’ band a
success
and to do that I have to make executive decisions which not everyone is privy to right away.”
I rolled my eyes at him. “So what have you got planned for Saturday?” I asked.
“Only the biggest surprise concert in the history of the fuckin’ world.”
Lonnie and I looked at each other. What was this idiot smoking?
“You what?” said Lonnie.
“The word’s going out in the morning. Social media is going to go apeshit. We’re leaking a video of Simon’s fight and the news of the free show at the same time. Thousands are going to want to see him after this.”
Lonnie laughed and shook his head. “Mate, you’re screwed. Si ain’t coming back. Sounds like your show’s going to be a dud.”
“Shit. Shit, shit, shit. Shit-fuck, shit-fuck, shit-fuck.” Chad span around and walked back into his room, slamming the door behind him as he did so.
“That was fun,” said Lonnie.
I nodded at him and gave him a grin.
“I’m beat.”
“Me too. Let’s go to bed.”
That was a nice feeling, the assumption that we’d be going to bed together. No umming and ahhing about which room we’d each be sleeping in. We were together. At least for now.
Before I could respond he reached down and grabbed me around my thighs, swinging me up into the air and depositing me on his shoulder. His right arm was wrapped around my legs.
“Hey!” I said.
He used his left hand to give me a firm smack on the ass. It stung at first then faded to a pleasant burning as he marched down the hallway toward our room, me bouncing on his shoulder as he did so.
“No complaining,” he ordered.
“Bu--” I started and got just the response I wanted. Another smack on my pleasantly glowing ass.
A moment later we were in the room and he deposited me onto the floor where I found myself on my hands and knees.
I started to rise but he looked down at me with a wicked look in his eyes and pushed my two shoulders down firmly to make me stay there. I looked up at him and licked my lips, slowly. So this is how it was going to be, huh?
He maintained eye contact with me as his hands left my shoulders and went to his belt and pants, quickly undoing them. They dropped to his ankles revealing his semi-hard cock in front of my eyes.
I wanted it. I wanted him. I wanted all of him. I cupped his balls for a moment, rolling them gently in my hand and then took his cock in my hand. I looked into his eyes as I pressed my damp lips against him, slowly parting them as I took him into my mouth.
As my lips slid down him to the base I could feel the blood rushing into him. My left hand cupped his balls and my right hand went around to squeeze his buttocks where I felt the steel muscles underneath the soft smooth rounded flesh that covered them.
Having a man grow in your mouth is really something, isn’t it? The knowledge that
you’re
doing that to him,
you’re
the one turning him on,
you’re
the one causing his turgid member to fill frantically as he moans above you, fingers grabbing at your hair to stop you from trying to escape him.
I dug my nails into his ass with both hands as I began to slide my mouth up and down him, his hands in my hair controlling my speed. As I knelt on the floor in front of him, taking him completely in my mouth I realized I’d truly given myself to him. I was no longer Ava, the tough independent woman. I was Ava, Lonnie’s girl.
“Fuck, that feels good.”
Faster and faster he slipped in and out of my mouth.
“I’m going to cum. I’m going to cum in your mouth.”
I was flushed with desire of my own but right then I wanted, more than anything, to please him. He would cum in my mouth and I would swallow it down, all of it, greedily. I knew now he would look after me, and I needed to look after him too. This was just one of the ways I’d do that.
When he finished he let out a guttural moan, arched his back and yanked at my hair to keep himself fully inside me. He spurted inside my mouth and the knowledge that
I
had done that to him; it was
me
that had made this beautiful hard man cum turned me on.
He held me tight against him as I swallowed down his release. Once upon a time that wasn’t my thing, it grossed me out. But with him, this man I felt such an intense desire for, it felt so right, so natural. I let him fill me up and then gently rolled my tongue around his twitching cock as it slowly lost some of its hardness.
The man above me,
my
man, let out a long sigh of release.
“Holy fuck that was good. Let’s get you to bed.”
W
ell shit
, if that wasn’t one of the best damn nights of my life. She’s a real firecracker that one. A bit fucked up -- aren’t we all -- but goddamn.
“What’s wrong with you?” Jase said when he saw me in the lobby. “Why are you grinning like that?”
“I’m not grinning. I’m just my normal cheerful self.”
Jase shook his head and laughed. “You
ain’t
normally cheerful.”
I was normally cheerful, wasn’t I?
“Fuck you, Prez. You seen Chad this morning?”
“No. I heard him shouting last night though. You been fucking with him?”
I laughed. “Nah. He fucked himself. Si isn’t coming back. Gone into rehab with the red-haired chick, Ava’s sister.”
“No? That sucks. They did the last couple of shows without him though. Is that all he’s worried about?”
I grinned, remembering the little twat’s reaction last night. “Nah. Apparently there’s going to be another show. A big one. On Saturday. Some surprise bullshit.”
“Oh? Thanks very fucking much for letting us know, right?”
I nodded. “Right. Silly twat. Anyway, he was going to have Si make some triumphant return. Now he’s given it the kibosh and Chad is screwed.”
Jase laughed. “Serves him right.” I saw Jase’s eyes flick across the lobby. “Oh look. They seem to be getting on.”
My eyes followed. Ava and Nicole were getting out of the elevator together, the crossbred puppy following right behind the Prez’s ole’ lady. They were laughing and chatting like old friends. That was good. Very good.
Ava arrived and slipped her arm under mine. Nicole did the same to Jase.
“Chad says meeting in his room in five minutes. The band’s already there. He wants you two as well,” said Nicole.
“Unfortunately he doesn’t seem quite so pissed anymore,” said Ava.
“Yeah. He was grinning like an idiot,” Nicole added.
“Shit,” I said, shaking my head. I reached into my pocket and grabbed my wallet, pulling out a fifty. “Here, why don’t you two go get yourselves some breakfast and grab something for us too. We’ll go see what dickface is up to.”
Ava looked at the outstretched bill for a moment, a conflicted look on her face, before finally taking it. I was glad she realized we were together now, a team. She could buy me breakfast next time. I couldn’t be dealing with any of that arguing over who’s paying for stuff crap right then.
We both kissed our respective women on their lips before hustling them on their way.
“Remember,
two
sausage egg muffins for me, and three hash browns,” said Jase to Nicole.
“I know,” said Nicole with a laugh.
Ava raised her eyebrows at me.
“Yeah, that’ll do me too,” I said.
Now it was time to see what bullshit Chad had cooked up for us to deal with next.
H
e was already
in full flight when we entered the room. He was waving an iPad in the air, occasionally jabbing at it with his finger.
“Check it out!” He pulled up Twitter. “Dozens of tweets a minute. This shit is going
off
.” He switched to Facebook showing an event scheduled for Saturday. “Look at this, hundreds of likes every few seconds.” He switched to the web and pulled up several music and celebrity websites, one after the other. Each one featured the Full Force as their two top stories.
“Your boy Si, that little sacrificial lamb, has done you all a massive favor. And he’s going to earn us all a lot of fucking money. The web is exploding with ‘Force news. The fight last night, and now, the massive free concert we’re putting on.”
“We need Si for the concert though,” said Neal.
“We ain’t havin’ any fuckin’ more fuckin’ shithouse fuckin’ session fuckin’ musicians,” said Rabbie, shaking his red locks as he pronounced his opinion. He certainly hadn’t lost his way with words.
Johnny Tranquil stood up. “Chad, we’re musicians, not salesman. We need to put on a good show. These session musicians man, they just don’t
get
us. We’re not going to embarrass ourselves in front of a giant crowd. Without Si, without our bassist, we ain’t performing.”
I watched as Chad threw the iPad across the room where it landed on a sofa. For a moment I thought he was going to have a shitfit. He licked his lips. Huh. He had something else to say.
“What if I told you, gentlemen, that I had someone
better
than Si.”
“What do you mean?”
He pointed at his eyes. “You see these bags under my eyes? Gentlemen, I was up
all fucking night
. I was working. For you. For us. For the show. For the greatest show in decades.”
“What’s your point?”
“Gentlemen, I’ve got you the best goddamn bassist for your band in all of California. Maybe the world.”
“What?”
“Boys, who’s your favorite California band of the last twenty years or so?”
I saw them look at each other. I knew the answer. It was the ‘Chili Peppers.
“Do you mean…”, said Neal.
“You’re got us…,” said Johnny.
“Fuckin’ Flea? From the fuckin’ Red Hot Chili Peppers’? fuckin’ ‘ell.”
“Gentlemen, I’m not, legally, allowed to answer that question just yet. But let’s say you are definitely not a million miles off.”
Was he having a laugh? Surely he couldn’t have just got on the phone and gotten Flea to agree to play with the band, could he?
Holy shit. If he had. Well. That was going to be a show and a goddamned half on Saturday. My estimation of Chad was rapidly rising. Maybe he wasn’t a complete plonker after all.
“Now gentlemen, you’ve still got two more shows of our secret tour to do. Can you put up with a session musician until then? I’ve got you a new one today. Supposed to be much better.”
“Oh aye. We’ll make do until Saturday,” said Rabbie.
I saw the rest of the band nod in agreement.
“So, about Saturday,” I said to Chad.
“On Saturday I’ve arranged for the band to perform at a rather special little place just outside of San Diego. We’ve got some beautiful land owned by a high school down there. There’s a natural hill, almost a bowl shape, which will give us a real stadium atmosphere. In return these guys are going to go in and give a little talk and a little one-on-one music tuition to a couple of their students next week.”
“We are?”
“You are,” said Chad.
They didn’t complain. They were still excited about having motherfuckin’
Flea
coming to play with them. As was I.
“So what, the stage is going to be at the bottom of this little hill?”
Chad nodded. “It’s perfect.”
It certainly wasn’t perfect. Not for crowd control purposes. But shit, motherfuckin’
Flea
was coming.
“We’re going to need more guys,” Jase said.
Chad nodded. “Yeah. Sort it out. Payment in beer. A case per guy. And all the groupies they can persuade to go with them.”
I tapped my chin thoughtfully and nodded. It’d actually be easier to get guys to work a show like this. It wasn’t in some shitty club, it was going to be a massive outdoor affair, a real party atmosphere I could tell. We’d call up some of the local MCs, see who was up for it.
Johnny Tranquil stood up and went to clasp Chad’s hand.
“Thank you, Chad. You’ve done good.”
“Aye… “
“Yeah…”
“Good man…”
Jase grabbed me by the shoulder. “How’s this going to play out?” he asked me.
I grinned and shrugged. “It’s going to be a fuckin’ gong show. But shit, it’ll be something to tell the grandkiddies about.”
He shook his head and laughed. I think we both knew it was going to be one hell of an afternoon when Saturday rolled around. But we weren’t quite prepared for all the fuckups Chad had planned.
