Sam took hold of him and sucked him faster, helping guide him into that mysterious bliss. She wondered if he’d do it in her mouth when he suddenly pulled out with a roar.

Sam moved quickly onto her knees before him and stroked his length with one hand while finding his mouth and kissing him. His first orgasm.
Wow.
Toren opened his mouth for her and Sam literally tasted his ecstasy, sucking his lips and tongue, tasting every savage groan and grunt while he came long and hard, his hot seed all over her stomach.

Sam suddenly found herself on her back, arms pinned and legs open while Toren remained with his eyes closed, kneeling before her. His wings suddenly sprung out behind him, sounding like a hundred steak knives rubbing against each other. She whimpered at realizing he was holding her down. It felt like lead weighed her blood down and pushed against
her body into the mattress.

Fear mixed with her excitement as she waited to see what he was doing, or would do. He finally looked at her. Sam held her breath at seeing his eyes. Nearly bright white. “I’m sorry.” His words sounded warbled, like they passed through a huge windmill. “I thought…it would ease my hunger for you.”

And it hadn’t?

He shook his head and his eyes very slowly roved over her body while his wings vibrated with a metallic hum. When his gaze stopped between her pulled back and open legs, the hum intensified. “I’ve never been…hungry in my existence.” He fell forward and yet it seemed he came at her in slow motion. Maybe his wings held him. His tongue licked along the center of her
stomach, feeling almost cold. Or was it extremely hot? “I need to be buried in your sweet body. Or I may die.”

He wasn’t joking.

“Let me go,” she whispered.

His white gaze rose to hers. “I can’t.” He sounded full of regret. Maybe ashamed. “I have to touch you. And taste you. And…”

“Make love to me,” she finished with a gasp. “Do it. Please. Let me go so I can help you.”

He released her and she reached her hand toward him. “Lay on me.”

He did and she wrapped his enormous body in her small limbs, gasping at how huge he was between her legs. “You’re…so hot.”

“Does it hurt?”

“No. Feels…really good.” Sam rocked her hips beneath him, wanting to increase the delicious friction he created with his pelvis between her legs. “Do you know…”

“Yes.” He kissed along her cheek softly. “I know what to do. Are you sure you’re ready?”

She slid hungry fingers over his sides and back. “I’m…pretty sure I’ll die if I don’t have you too.”

His shaft pulsed hard between her legs and he pulled up and stared at her, his breath eager on her mouth. “Samantha. You should know that…that I want you in a forever kind of way. Never want to be apart from you, I want you with me always. And I don’t ever want you to need or hunger for anything again. I want to be everything for you.” He slid his nose and silky full lips softly over hers. “Will you
please
have me this way?”

Sam gasped and blinked back tears. “That’s…a strange way to say you love me.”

She felt his lips smile on hers. “Yes. That’s the correct term.” He gently nibbled her lips apart with his. “I love you. More than you can understand.”

Sam kissed him back, wrapping her legs tighter around his waist. “I’m a fast learner.”

Toren seemed to suddenly catch his breath and hold it, his entire body stiffening. He pulled his head up and slid his silvery eyes right as his upper lip rose with a scary snarl. The deep metallic sound vibrated all the way into her bones. “That
human
is coming.”

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Kassern hated waiting. Despised it with a passion. Yet he could do nothing else. Since flashing an unconscious Karly to the Grotto of Aesculapius, he'd felt incredibly useless. He'd answered all their questions in less than five minutes.

After that, they left him to cool his heels in a waiting suite while they worked over Karly. No one came to update him or ask questions, nothing. They just left him to his own worst nightmares, visions of Karly at death's door, or being taken over by some horrendous evil he wouldn't be able to save her from.

Finally, driven to desperation by the lack of information, he used his Angelic senses to search for her spirit. Everywhere he searched, nothing but hugely convoluted angel psyches hovered, flashing brilliant colors as the angels used different parts of their minds.

If the damn medics had let her die, he'd be lost. The search became frantic as he imagined one horrible scenario after another. Eventually he slowed, exhausted.

A brilliant starburst of pale gold caught his attention with both its size and color, and he looked closer.

Karly.

No wonder he hadn't been able to find her. Her mind and spirit were just as large as those of the angels, but active on entirely different levels.

"I see you've found your mate." The dry whisper reminded him of rustling newspaper.

Too late he realized his search might have offended the medics, and in turn the Serith supervising them. Kassern reigned in his senses and turned, careful to keep his expression neutral. Rather than the Serith he'd expected, the Hecarith—most powerful of all the angel physicians—stood before him. Offending the Hecarith would be worse than a grave mistake. The archangels needed the Hecarith's support if their mission was to have a hope.

"Don't worry, Warrior. I'm not easily offended." The ancient looking man almost smiled. "Human brains are active mainly on the cognitive and physical levels, and ours mainly on the psychic and spiritual. Equal but opposite, like the rest of creation." He turned away and motioned Kassern to follow down a broad corridor.

Kassern gauged his stride to match that of the much smaller angel. The questions he needed to ask choked him, but he held them back. The old dude reputedly despised being asked anything and generally just refused to talk period.

"Admirable patience, Warrior. I know you want to ask, yet you hold your tongue." The ancient shook his gray head. "I'm afraid I have no answers for you. She is awake and stable now, however." He paused outside a door. "Prepare yourself. She is changed from the female you brought us. It appears our tests have aggravated the…condition this wound is causing."

Changed how? Kassern followed the angel into the room, and froze in shock.

"When the creature bit her, it injected a sort of venom, a long acting toxin. We now know that it spreads over time, increasing its effect. It seems to darken the person, but we don't know the extent or the depth of its reach. We can only pray this reaction is spiritually superficial."

Karly, or someone that resembled her, stood there before him. Her silky pale hair had turned dark and coarse, standing out from her head in clumps and spikes. Heavy makeup obscured her lovely eyes and red paint glistened on petulant lips. A tight black lacy garment clung to her torso and pushed her breasts up until her nipples were barely concealed. A pair of snug leather shorts revealed the lower curve of her ass cheeks while the front waist dipped so low the top of her silky pubic hair peeked above it.

A bolt of heated desire shot through Kassern, followed hard by a deep rage. What could compel her to display her body that way? Before he could object aloud, a wave of anger crossed her face. She wanted a fight?

"Aren't you going to say anything about my new clothes?" Red painted lips curved into a glistening smile that dared him to do something.

Provoking her felt like the wrong thing to do. So Kassern bit his tongue and smiled. "You look gorgeous."

A disappointed look crossed her face, quickly concealed.

The angel physician nodded slightly in approval. "We have a number of tests to perform on the samples we acquired. Unless there is a change, Karly is free to leave. If there are further episodes, return here immediately."

That was it. He turned and left them staring after him and Kassern nearly couldn’t contain his horrified objections. Karly was clearly not free, much less free to
leave
and the only reassurance otherwise was the docs
you may return to your regular programming
tone. "I guess we’ll…join the others?" He couldn't think of anything else they should do.

Karly shrugged a shoulder with that need to fight look plastered to her beautiful face. He located Dorn and flashed them to the haze of yet another hotel room, more like a dump that matched his wife’s new ensemble and attitude. Despite all the bad news, his entire being fucking blazed with the need to dominate whatever the hell had a hold on her. And judging by his massive hard on, his instinct said he needed to
fuck it out of her.

** ** **

Toren
knew deep down in his angelic heart that the little prick approaching the cabin was merely playing a role in his mission. It meant Toren apparently wasn’t supposed to sink his phallus into his beautiful wife
just yet.

Dammit.

He kissed her with an eternal hunger, holding her strong jaw in his hand, loving that she was his. Waiting to be claimed entirely by him. And the sweet sound she made in her throat told him she was so very ready.

There was only one other thing he couldn’t wait to do besides becoming one with Samantha. And that was finally dealing with that sniveling piece of shit for hitting her.

“What human?”

Joe.”

“Ugh, that bastard.”

“Get up, I don’t want that insolent fecal matter to
ever
see more of your beautiful skin than absolutely necessary.”

She smiled with a pretty blush. It would be the first time she actually
considered
his compliments to be true.

“Get used to hearing it. You’ll grow weary of it, I’m sure.”

“Oh, I’m sure I won’t.” She quickly slid up her jeans and stuffed her panties in her back pocket then proceeded to put on her t-shirt. Toren groaned when her breasts disappeared. “My God,” she whispered, smiling from ear to ear at him. “You liking my breasts I’ll
never
understand. It’s as fascinating as it is ridiculous.” She added an ecstatic little giggle and Toren’s mercury demanded he take her now, in that instant. Unbelievable the way it did with her.

A booming knock sounded on the door just as Toren put on only his black BVD’s. He left his shirt off to rub in what he could already smell on the human. Jealousy.

“Your clothes!” she whispered.

Toren ignored her and opened the door. Immediately the human appeared stumped at meeting a
nearly naked man. He stuttered stupidly then peered around Toren and caught sight of Samantha. Toren tensed, waiting for the varmint to speak.

“I see you’ve got Sam—”

Toren ordered his mouth to freeze, not waiting for him to say something to kill him for. He stood there with wide eyes, wondering what was wrong with his jaw.

“You hit Samantha the other day.” Toren named the sin before issuing judgment. He released the man’s jaw to hear his excuse and to justify to Sam what he was about to do.

“She came at me when I had a loaded gun, it was reflex—”

Toren slammed his fist into
Joe’s chin. The human flew off the porch and landed in the snow on his back, unmoving. “If you so much as look at her wrong,
human,
you’ll get far worse.” Toren made sure the words found their way into his warped little unconscious mind and rooted them there.

He shut the door and turned to find Samantha’s wide eyes leveled on him.  “It was reflex,” he said.

She finally burst out in cute snickers, putting her hand over her mouth. She flew into his arms then. The way she hugged him said she was grateful he defended her. Something she apparently wasn’t accustomed to.

That would surely change.

She pulled away and looked up at him. “You didn’t even find out what he needed.”

“Yes I did.” He leaned and nibbled at her lips, sliding his hands all over her body, too damn hungry for her own good. “My couple just showed up at your house. Answering your ad.”

She gasped in astonishment and he kissed her deeply. When he reached those sexy whimpers that boiled his mercury, he pulled up and said, “I can’t make love to you now...” he undid the fastening on her jeans. “…but I can taste you.” He dropped to his knees and pulled the denim down with him. After helping her out of the clothing, he guided her legs onto his shoulders. “Hold on,” he murmured while placing hungry kisses on the smooth skin of her sex.

She gasped and grabbed on to his head. Perfect. The leverage forced his face tight to her essence and he eagerly worked his lips between her folds and began suckling her clit. Supporting her back with his forearms and hands, she began moving on his mouth, her sweet squirms making it just right for her. God in heaven he’d never tasted anything like her. Ignorance was certainly bliss but knowing was beyond any universal ecstasy he’d ever fathomed.

No wonder this had been forbidden.

“Oh God, yes,” she moaned, rocking against his mouth.

Toren growled hungrily on her, letting the metallic vibration add to the assault. Her
inner thighs trembled on his face and neck and her heels dug into his back. She was so close. He pressed his fingers into her spine and rapidly flicked his tongue on the very tip of her clit, unraveling her in an instant.

“Toren, Yes, yes, yes.”

He slid a hand up, feeling the spasms of pleasure arcing through her body, and soon intense need made him dizzy. He wanted his finger buried inside her so he could feel the break entirely and intimately. What would it be like when he buried his shaft in her, when she climaxed this way on him? When she made those desperate sounds in his ear while he kissed her? He couldn’t stand the suspense.

When she’d shuddered her delicious last, he carefully helped slide her legs off his shoulders and eased her down his chest to his waist. Toren wrapped her in his arms, coveting her body while kissing her neck, and jaw, then lips. The aftermath of her orgasm sounded almost as tormenting as the orgasm itself. Full of awe and rapture at what he’d just given her.

“Oh my Lord in heaven that was…oh hell that was so…so amazing!”

“You sound ready to do it again,” he whispered at her temple.

“Oh Jesus…damn, I’m sorry.”

“For what?”

She gasped like it should be obvious. “I keep taking every entity in heaven’s name in
vain!”

He closed his eyes loving how devout she was without realizing it. “It’s not vain sweet heart.”

“What? I’m…I’m saying it when I…when you’re…”

“When you’re doing what God designed you to do when a…a man…” What was he saying? He wasn’t a man and…and yet he was…

“What’s wrong?”

He shook his head. “If anybody needs to worry about blasphemy it’s me.”

She gasped and looked him in the eyes. “You told me it wasn’t wrong, I thought—”

“It’s not it’s just…I’m supposed to not want this until my human couple bind
s and I inherit part of their humanity.”

She smiled like that was the greatest compliment. “Wow. I’m so amazing.”

He nuzzled her lips with his. “Heaven yes. Yes, you are.” Though Toren figured it was more than that and wished he knew the reason for it. He’d wanted her since she’d kissed him. But why?

** ** **

“What?” Toren
finally had to ask, looking at his beautiful wife sitting there in the driver seat just staring at him.

She shook her head and gave a light gasp. “Just trying to figure out if I’m dreaming or if you’re actually real.
An…
angel.”

“You say it like you weren’t sure we existed.”

She gave a cute non-lady-like snort. “Hello, human here. Frail. Corrupt. Fallen. Of course I wasn’t sure. It's not like there’s been a whole lot of miracles happening in my life.”

It was Toren’s turn to snort.

“What!”

He nodded a few times and gave a light laugh. “No miracles? Baby, there have been more miracles in your life than recorded in your Christian
Bible.”

Shocked gasp. “Oh please!” She started up the truck and yanked at the wheel till they were aimed in the direction of the ranch. “Like
what.”

Toren kept one nostril to the wind for danger and the other all over his delicious soon to be wife. “Well, there’s the whole you breathing thing.”

“I mean besides the regular obvious miracles.”

“Ah, okay. Let’s see. The bear you got for your sixth birthday.”

“What? That was no miracle, my uncle gave me that after I
asked
for it.”
