The intimacy of his voice in her head gave her the courage
to unsnap the bra and drop it on top of the blouse.

Duncan groaned and unbuttoned another button in his pants.
And another.

Realizing she’d only stood and gaped, she took back the
reins and thrust a finger into her mouth. She suckled it, showing him her
tongue curling around the slender digit.

He sat up from his elegant sprawl and finished undressing.

Fire clenched in her core. The flames shooting higher as he
grabbed his thick, hard cock and stroked up and down. Challenge shimmered in
his eyes, but one where neither would end up the loser.

Still, she wanted to be in the pilot’s chair this time.
Tanasha stroked her wet finger across her nipple and moaned. Her head fell back
as sensations raced through her. His eyes were like a touch.

He tightened his grip on his cock. The intensity in his eyes
flared out of control.

She stroked her finger across her other nipple and rubbed
her legs together.

“Finish it.” Impatience and hunger growled in his words.

Power filled Tanasha. She’d never blatantly undressed before
a lover and the hunger in Duncan’s eyes helped her to overcome the last little
hesitation. She pushed down her trousers and underwear and stood before him
naked.

“You are so beautiful.”

Then she unfolded her wings and spread them wide.

Duncan groaned again. “They are gorgeous and I can’t wait to
play with them again, but it’s you who carries the wings, not the other way
around.”

Truth jumped from every word. Sharing their minds made lying
impossible, even a little white lie, and the image she gleaned from him had her
as the center of his attention, her wings a beautiful accessory.

He saw the woman, the chubby, confidence-lacking
goody-two-shoes. And he thought she was amazing.

Tears filled her eyes.

Duncan held out his hand. “Come here, love. You can torture
me another day. I need to hold you, remind myself that it’s over and we’re both
alive.”

She strode to the bed and climbed next to him. He pulled her
close for another mind-bending kiss and then proceeded to torture her with his
mouth. Duncan kissed his way from her toes to her knees, where he spent an extraordinary
amount of time. She’d never realized how sensitive the backs of her knees were.
Then he moved farther up her thighs, her hips, her gently curved stomach.

He pulled her to her knees and moved behind her.

Tanasha anticipated the first touch and when it came down
the middle of her back, where her wings were the most sensitive, the sensations
nearly threw her into orgasm. She dropped to her hands and knees.

Duncan moved his touch slowly from the inside out. Each
caress drove her higher and higher. His whispers of encouragement partnered
with the ever-growing hunger flowing and doubling between them drove her nearly
crazy.

Finally he moved his hand down her back, caressing her skin.
She missed his touch on her wings. As soon as the thought formed in her mind,
his mental touch caressed her. The double brush on wings and skin drove her
nearly to point of no return.

He cupped her behind and slid his hand between, thrusting
one thick finger into her molten core.

Her arms nearly gave out under the pleasure racing across
her body. “Now,” she panted. “I need you. Please.”

“Shh, love, I’m here.” He knelt behind her and before she
had time to process the scorching heat of his skin touching hers he thrust. His
thick, hard length tunneled inside her, taking no prisoners.

Tanasha balanced on the knife-edge of explosive pleasure and
pain. Unsure which side she fell on, he pulled out and plunged in again.

She groaned with pleasure. Unable to process the sensations
racing through every inch of her body, her arms weakened and she sank onto her
elbows.

He curled his arm around her waist and pulled her upright
against his chest. And pushed deep inside her. So deep and hard. Her head
dropped back against his shoulder. The feel of his chest stroking her wings
with each strong push on top of the teasing touches on her outer feathers made
her gasp for breath. “You’re killing me.”

“Hell of a way to go.” His hot breath caressed her earlobe.
He tightened his arm around her waist and played with her nipples.

“Drink from me, Duncan. I’m so close. So close. I want to
feel you everywhere.”

He groaned and kissed her neck. “There is nothing I want
more.” His teeth sank inside her at the same time his thick, hard length did.

The pain of his bite swirled through her, combined with the
heavenly agony of his cock driving in and out of her threw her onto a new, even
higher level of arousal. Tanasha gave herself up to the pleasure. Every part of
her body felt so alive. Every nerve ending stood at attention.

Duncan increased the speed and the strength of his thrusts,
bumping her sensitive cervix, but not in a manner that she could predict.

Together they climbed higher and higher. One hand, one
imaginary hand, moved lower. One finger stroked across her clit.
I love you.

She exploded into a million pieces but knew he was right
beside her, holding her no matter how far they flew. Gray edged her vision as
she clenched around his erection. Their minds merged and she felt her cunt
squeezing him, felt her pulsing walls massaging his member as he exploded just
seconds after her.

They clung to each other, panting, sinking down on the bed,
her wings the softest bedding.

She curled one hand around his and pulled it between her
breasts. “I love you.”

He kissed her neck and spooned tighter around her.

Once their breathing had calmed down and the air felt cool
on her sweat-drenched body, Duncan withdrew and stumbled into the washroom.
Moments later he was back with a damp cloth to clean her with.

He dropped it beside the bed, climbed back under the sheets
and pulled her against his chest.

Tanasha wallowed in his closeness, his scent, his heat, but
a part of her still processed what had happened. “Your friends
¼
I still can’t believe you’re friends with an
ArchNaema. Anyway, Galen and Nikolai, do they have a plan to take down this
human-trafficking ring?”

He stroked his fingers through her hair. “They’re working on
it. I thought maybe you’d like to take a long trip off planet. We could explore
other worlds and cultures, see new places together.”

A smile curled along her lips. “And should we come across
any Ferals who may or may not have a human blood slave in their possession, we
obviously have to do something about it.”

Duncan shrugged and sounded nonchalant. “Niko mentioned
something about a group of settlers that has gone missing. They have some ideas
where the missing people may be, but they have only so many men helping to get
the humans back.”

She leaned up and kissed him. “I have never been off world.
I think I would enjoy it. If you’re with me.”

He grinned and stroked his thumb across her cheek. “I have
absolutely no doubt. You are one sassy lady.”

Tanasha wasn’t sure about that, but loving Duncan and
staying in her District was not an option. She’d always wanted to see the
galaxy, but her self-doubt and lack of confidence had held her back.

Saving the settlers with Duncan would be hard and dangerous
work. They wouldn’t be in time for everybody. But they would be able to save
some and each freed human was one more step away from all-out war.

And she’d discovered that she had a rather unique Gift.
There was no telling how it would come in handy.

“When are we leaving?”

Duncan’s eyes turned silver. “Tomorrow.”

She kissed him. “Tomorrow.”

About the Author

Tina Christopher spent her early years flitting across the
Channel between Germany and England. After touring the world extensively, she
finally laid down roots in Toronto. And while Canada’s winters may be frigid,
Tina’s characters are anything but!

Like most writers, Tina often hears voices in her head, but
it took the encouragement of an editor friend before she actually put fingers
to keyboard. While those first stories will never see the light of day, she’s
subsequently honed her craft and learned to build not just worlds, but entire
galaxies. Her first book from Ellora’s Cave features a galaxy filled with
Vampires, Humans and angel-like aliens called Naema.

When not imagining faraway worlds and scorching-hot
encounters, Tina can be found on her sofa working through her never-ending TBR
pile or venturing into the real world—whether to a nearby café or a passport-required
destination. She’s a member of RWA’s Toronto chapter. Her two degrees in
environmental conservation, majoring in large animal studies, come in handy
when wrestling with supernatural beasties.
