Epilogue

Six months later

“Please, Morgan, just sit down. I have something important to talk to you about.” Olivia’s gaze darted around. “Where is Emily? Geez, now that the girl walks I can’t keep up with her.”

“I’ve got her.” Jamie came around the corner, Emily in his arms.

These days the only one Emily ever let hold her was Jamie.

“I told you it would be best to do this inside
, Jamie. Emily is impossible to keep up with outside,” Olivia snapped.

Jamie leaned forward and lightly kissed her on the lips. “I’m here, you don’t have to worry.”

He was right. As long as he was near, she didn’t have any stress. He always made her feel better.

Morgan
, who was now seven, huffed as she waited for things to settle down. Olivia wished someone had told her how hormonally her daughter would be
before
the teenage years.

“Okay, let’s start.” Olivia sat down in a chair next to Jamie.
With his free hand, he held hers and she looked at Morgan. “As you know, Jamie and I have been seeing one another. And we think it’s time to move our relationship forward. What do you think about him moving in?”

“Is he going to babysit us again?” Morgan asked.

“No,” Olivia replied.

Jamie had left the nanny agency and was now
pursuing opening his own childcare center. The man loved children and could not wait until they had their own. Without a doubt she knew he would be a great father. He already was wonderful with her girls.

“Are you two going to get married?” Morgan asked next.

Olivia wasn’t sure how to answer. Nothing had been official. The two knew it was in the future. What were they waiting for?

“Would you like that Morgan?” Jamie asked.

Her daughter nodded.

“Mama,
” Emily said.

“Yes
, sweetie.” Olivia said, turning toward her little princess.

Her mouth fell open and
she placed a hand over her heart. Emily was holding a black velvet box in her little hands. A sparkling diamond glistened in the sun.

Jamie set the little girl down and took Olivia’s hand.

“I love you, Olivia. I’ve been looking all my life for the right woman to spend my life with and I’ve finally found her. Will you marry me?”

She tried to speak, but she was too excited.
She moved her lips but nothing came out. Jamie laughed.

“Mommy, he asked you a question. It
’s rude not to answer,” Morgan said.

Olivia did her best to contain the laughter, but her daughter was right. It was quite rude.

“Yes, Jamie, I will marry you.”
