Author’s Note

It goes without saying that this is a
work of fiction. I wanted to write a book involving terrorism but I didn’t necessarily
want to fall back on the tired clichés of Islamic insurgents. And that’s how I
veered toward the concept of globalization and environmental terrorism.

This was never meant as a political
treatise. I do not condone or espouse any of the viewpoints expressed in this
novel. Of course, sometimes Greenwood makes some compelling arguments but I
think that’s why a story can be so riveting. It’s fun to have bad guys and good
guys somewhere in the big gray area.

You might find mistakes in this book,
especially when it comes to law enforcement and military procedures. Some of
these were not really errors but artistic license, to make the story more
interesting, visually and emotionally. I mean, there would be no exciting
dogfighting scenes if we had to abide by complete realism given today’s
technology. It’s cooler my way, right?

Finally, though I may often forget to, I
need to thank Laura Keysor for her awesome proofreading wizardry.
