Reese dropped down when Harper gave him room, scooting over so he could sit with Smith. Harper then handed Reese the lit joint. He puffed it and handed it to Doug. “Well, Mom’s a little surprised at our rush.”

Heath laughed. “Did she think you knocked him up?”

Hermy flipped his wrist. “Oh, that happened to me once. But all I gave birth to was a song from Zwitter.”

“Twitter?” Doug asked, blowing out the smoke and handing the joint to Heath.

“No!” Hermy turned up his nose. “Right. I have loads to do. If I have any questions I’ll text. You!” He pointed to Reese,

“Number of people flying. Oh, I mean in an actual airplane. ASAP!” Hermy headed to the door. “Oh, screw it. I’ll just do an Endora.” He snapped his fingers and vanished.

Reese coughed and spit out the drink in his mouth from the shock.

Harper patted his back sympathetically. “You have no idea what you’re in for, marrying into our family, do you?”

“No.” He wiped his shirt and chin. “Smith, tomorrow you’ll meet my parents.”

“Oh. I do good with parents. That’s fine. They’ll love me. It’s my side that’s the bitch.”

“Hear hear.” Heath nodded, puffing the joint.

“You’re bogarting the weed, dude!” Doug whacked him. Reese rubbed his face in amazement. “I’m insane. I think I fell into the rabbit hole.”

“I’m glad you didn’t say that in front of Hermy,” Harper said.

“Dude…” Heath pointed to his chest. “I gave the rabbit its libido.”

“Yeah. What a good idea that was.” Doug rolled his eyes and snatched the joint out of his hand to give to Harper. They all jumped in fear when someone materialized. Reese grabbed Smith to protect him.

Orion walked over to the sofa. “Heard there was a party.”

“Dude!” Heath high-fived his hand. “Red Bull and vodka for the man with the bright belt.”

Reese released Smith slowly, seeing he was safe.

Smith smiled at him. “Good reflexes.”

“We have allies all right. But I had no idea they were all around us.”

“Gods work in mysterious ways.” Smith winked.

“So?” Reese smiled at his silly grin. “Percodan, vodka, and weed. How ya feeling, Smith?”

“It’s the ambrosia. It’s nectar for the gods. Look.” He unwrapped the gauze and Reese could see the wing had healed. He picked up his glass and chugged it down.

“Drink! Drink! Drink!” Heath held up the glass for Orion as he cheered Reese on.

“Gimme that.” Orion swiped it out of Heath’s hand. “To the coming nuptials. May you get it done before—”

“Eh!” Smith held up his hand. “Do not say her name. She’s a curse.”

“Hey, Orion.”

“Yes, Pan?”

“Can I suck your cock?”

Reese looked at the handsome hunter in the outfit of a warrior.

Orion asked Reese, “Can we use your bedroom?”

Harper jumped to his feet and danced around like Snoopy in the Peanuts cartoon.

“Be my guest.” Reese pointed to the bedroom door.

“Little dude’s finally getting some cock!” Heath whistled.

“Yes! Yes!” Harper slapped Heath and Doug’s hands as he made a victory lap before heading out of the living room. Orion downed his drink, slammed the empty onto the dining room table, wiped his mouth and grinned devilishly. “Later.”

“Later!” Heath howled like a drunken college kid on spring break.

Reese looked at Smith who appeared wasted. “Only
you
are meeting my parents, right?”

“Right.” Smith curled up against Reese’s chest.

“Will they see your wings?” Reese tried not to panic.

“You can. So one of your parents will.” He closed his eyes and sniffed Reese’s armpit.

“Dude.” Heath shrugged. “No worries. Smith’s hot with or without the chicken wings.”

“Without!” Smith yelled, still with his eyes closed. Reese kissed his hair and sighed.

Chapter 18

The next evening Adonis stood before a full length mirror in his home. He straightened his sport jacket, feeling it pull on his wings, which always managed to protrude out of his back no matter the outfit.

Reese stood behind him, kissing his neck.

At the tingle it created in his stomach, Adonis’ wings fluttered. He stared at Reese in the mirror’s reflection and said,

“Don’t you look delicious.”

“I was thinking the same thing.” Reese licked his way up Adonis’ ear to his lobe, nibbling.

Adonis looked down at the diamond engagement ring—a wide, gold band with a crescent shaped diamond inlaid—which they had bought that afternoon. “Seems odd I wear the diamond since you’re the woman in bed.”

“Hey!” Reese nudged him playfully. “Low blow!”

Adonis reached up to touch Reese’s cheek, affectionately.

“Just teasing you. I love being your wife-to-be.”

“Husband-to-be.”

“You mortals are as obsessed with semantics as you are with numerics.” Adonis pressed his bottom against Reese’s crotch as Reese ran his hands up his chest, under his black sport jacket.

“Words.” Reese used his left hand to cup Adonis’ chest, and his right, his crotch. “I make a living using words.”

“Your words turn into numbers, eh, Reese?” Adonis smiled into the mirror at him.

“If I’m lucky.”

“Are you lucky? Punk?”

Reese appeared suspired. “Quoting Dirty Harry?”

“I’m well versed.” Adonis grinned.

“You’re the most amazing man I’ve ever met.” Reese held him tight, pressing his head against Adonis’.

Half
mortal man. Close enough for government work.”

“Now I don’t want to go. I want you back in my bed.”

“You’re as insatiable as Pan.”

“Oh yes.” Reese pushed his hard cock into Adonis’ bottom.

“Where are we meeting your parents again?” Adonis rubbed his bottom into Reese’s groin.

“Falcon restaurant. It’s five minutes from here. We could walk, actually.”

“Anything you want.” Adonis closed his eyes and inhaled Reese’s cologne, loving the scent.

“Look at you…” Reese purred into Adonis’ ear sensually.

“You are beauty and desire incarnate, no doubt.”

“You say all the right things.” Adonis reached back for Reese’s hips.

“Can I suck your cock?”

Hearing Pan’s constant request made Adonis smile. “Yes.”

Reese moved Adonis sideways to the mirror and knelt in front of him, opening his belt. Adonis enjoyed both the view from the mirror and looking directly. Reese stared into his eyes as he exposed Adonis’ hard cock from his trousers, running his warm palm over it. Adonis’ wings began to spread from his excitement.

With their gaze on each other, Reese opened his lips and ran his tongue over the slit of Adonis’ cock.

After a quick peek up at the ceiling in paranoia, Adonis gave his attention to his lover. He dug his fingers into Reese’s brown hair and felt his length being engulfed by wet heat. “I love mortal men.”

Reese chuckled with his mouth full and drew Adonis’ cock to the tip, then slowly sank it into his mouth again. Adonis watched their reflection smiling in delight at seeing them from a different perspective, and the view made him even more excited. Reese tugged at Adonis’ black slacks and they fell into a heap over his shoes. He cupped Adonis’ bottom and pulled him deeper into his mouth, creating a thrusting rhythm that had Adonis already near the edge.

“I won’t hold back.” Adonis knew they were constrained by time. That mortal clock that forever ticked, making everything a rush.

“Mm-mm.” Reese appeared to agree with Adonis’ comment. He dug his fingertips into Adonis’ ass crack and rubbed his rim through his briefs.

Adonis arched his back, threw back his head and gasped. As his cock pulsated with the orgasm into Reese’s mouth, Reese moaned and sucked deep and hard.

At the peak of his climax his wings spread out like reaching fingers to the sides of the room.

“Damn, you taste amazing.” Reese lapped at the tip, still milking him.

Adonis smiled as the waves of pleasure subsided and then noticed his wings in the mirror. He reached over his shoulder and swatted at them. They closed up immediately and lay flat against his back.

Reese stared up at him curiously.

“They ruin a good thing.” Adonis pouted.

As Reese stood, he brought Adonis’ pants with him, tucking in his cock and zipping his fly.

“And would you like me to do you?” Adonis gave him a seductive look.

“After dinner. If we’re walking, we need to head out now.”

Reese kissed him.

Adonis could smell and taste his own body on his lips. He smiled at Reese. “It is sweet.”

“Milk and honey.” Reese made a growling noise teasingly. The bedroom door swung open and both men jumped and spun around.

“Maria. Mortals knock before entering a private bedroom.”

Adonis tucked his shirt in and straightened his jacket.

“Mortals-schmortals. Who is guarding you while you are out?”

Adonis looked at Reese. “Him?”

Maria rolled her eyes.

Reese said, “No way. I can’t have an army to meet my parents.”

“You’ll need an army to keep”—Maria looked upwards and pointed—“you-know-who from interfering.”

“Where is she?” Adonis whispered.

“Bathing with the nymphs.”

Nodding, Adonis made sure he had his phone with him and his leather pouch over his shoulder. “Then we should be safe for a while.”

“Bathing with nymphs?” Reese patted his own pockets as if checking he too had all he needed. “Is she gay?”

Adonis blinked and looked at Maria. “Is she?”

Maria shrugged. “With the way she hates men and loves her time with Sappho? Could be.”

“Huh.” Adonis thought that through as he and Reese headed out.

“Watch yourself, Adonis.” Maria walked them to the front door.

“Yes. Thank you, Maria.” Adonis stepped outside.

“Are you taking the red metal firecracker?” she asked.

“No. It’s a beautiful evening for a walk.” Adonis gazed up at the sky. It was twilight but no stars had yet appeared in the heavens. He reached out his hand and Reese took it. They walked towards Sunset Boulevard, trying to feel

‘normal’ when nothing in their world was at the moment.
Hopefully soon.
Adonis held tight to his man’s hand, smiling at him adoringly.

Reese forced himself to not be a mass of nerves. Yes, they were meeting his parents for dinner, and there was a furious goddess out to destroy them…but…

He was walking hand in hand with the man he loved, and the June evening was glorious. The broiling heat had vanished in favor of a mild night with a refreshing breeze from the ocean. As they strolled down the busy boulevard, Reese watched as every man and woman ogled Smith. It shouldn’t surprise Reese. The symbol of male beauty and desire was bound to get attention, even here in Hollywood, where the ‘beautiful’ people lived.

Smith appeared slightly oblivious to the stir he was creating. A celebrity walking the boulevard couldn’t be that unusual. Hand in hand with a man? Was that why they were abuzz with chatter and energy?

“Smith?”

“Yes, my husband-to-be?”

“Are you out?”

Smith’s confused puppy-dog look was back. As they waited for a traffic signal, he gestured with his free hand to the area.

“Aren’t we out?”

“I didn’t mean outside. I mean…to your fans. Your movie fans. Are you openly gay?”

Again Smith looked as if Reese was speaking in riddles.

“Never mind.” Reese had no idea if Smith was even a real movie star. Just because he had academy awards and photographs of himself on the red carpet with the Hollywood elite, did that mean he was an actual celebrity? Or was that just a front to cover the fact that he was, in reality, a Greek god?

“What am I not getting?” Smith asked, moving on as the light changed.

“Are you really a star or—”

Just as Reese asked that, a young man with short cropped blond hair in striped shorts and T-shirt with a sports logo on the right chest, raced up to Smith and asked, “Are you Smith Gold?”

Smith smiled and nodded. “I am.”

“Love your movies, man! Can I have your autograph?”

As Smith reached for a pen and pad from the young man, they were swarmed with people all shouting Smith’s name in excitement.

Reese was nudged out of the circle and nearly into traffic. Smith smiled and appeared to be enjoying the attention. Paranoia took over instantly, and Reese grew nervous that someone in the crowd would harm Smith. He elbowed his way back in and grabbed Smith’s arm. “We have to keep going.”

Smith waved and thanked everyone, as Reese continued to get Smith out of the miniature mob of his fans.

“That was very empowering.” Smith smoothed his hand through his hair. “Do many mortals get adoration like that from strangers on the street?”

“They do here in Tinsel Town.” Reese peered behind them to make sure they were not followed. If a select few could see Smith’s wings, they were never out of danger. “Maybe I made a mistake walking. We’re taking a cab back.”

They finally approached the restaurant and there was a small crowd of people waiting to get in. Reese said, “Excuse me,”

passing them by and approached the hostess, still holding onto Smith as he once again made a stir in the masses.

“Yes, hello. I’m meeting a party here…” Reese leaned over to tell the hostess.

She looked right through Reese to Smith.

“Iris and Ben Anderson?” Reese said, trying to keep the woman’s attention long enough to figure out if his parents were there. Seeing her dreamy gaze aimed at his man, Reese waved his hand in front of her face. “Hello?”
