For some reason, they ate that sort of shit up:

I'm so sorry...Please forgive me...”
his ultimate favorite:
“I found religion in here and I'll never do it again.”

Yet, now, as he stared at his cousin's dead body, he felt actual remorse and grief over losing the one family member that had kept him somewhat human.

At the sound of movement in front of him, he stared up into the face of his cousin's killer; their uninvited guest stood towering over him, looking more menacing up close than he did further away. While Victor might have felt frightened, at that moment, the emotion that overwhelmed that emotion was the anger he felt for this...this...whatever he was. It did dawn on Victor, that this vampire was not at all like the kind of vampires he had been introduced to by the Sandman; he was different.

You son of a...”

Before he could finish, the sword came down and his life flashed before his eyes. He saw his cousin and him as children; running on a grassy field and laughing. It was home, a time when they were actual innocents—of anything remotely evil.

No sooner had this image flashed in his head, was his head flying from his body.

As Victor
Stormer's head flew through the air, his dead eyes saw his cousin's decapitated body slowly fading away.

Before this fledgeling's head had even hit the ground, Cirpian swung his sword and decapitated the man who had been standing next to him.

While that fledgeling had been surprised to see not just one of his compadres' decapitated torso, but his other buddy die in front of him; the other two, on the roof of the car, had had enough time to come out of their shock.

Jumping down from the car, they both withdrew their guns and started surrounding him.

As they both fired at him, emptying their clips into him; they were very much astonished by how their bullets did absolutely nothing to him. They might as well have been shooting blanks, because the bullets didn't even deter him from first picking one up; and ripping his head clean off his shoulders. Then, before the other one could react to seeing another one of his friends killed in front of him, Cirpian swung his sword and took the last of the five fledgelings' heads off.

Angelia had been almost positive, that the monsters, outside of her car, would get them, but no sooner had the destruction and the voice in her head started. Did the slamming, not just quickly cease, but her guardian angel's voice was no longer talking to her – reassuring her that everything was okay.

Granted she had heard the shooting outside, but for some reason, she hadn't been that scared by it, because the voice had told her to stay down and not to worry.

As she looked through the shattered windshield out at the reddish night sky, she was surprised to see the fog dissipating and, when she finally was able to make out something, she noted a darkly clad figure; hastily sauntering away.

If she wasn't just astonished by the disappearing figure, she was by the calmness in the car; her children, her two month old and daughter, were practically asleep—behaving as if nothing had happened.

What practically made her jump, was the groggy little voice of her five year old daughter,  “Mommy...,” she surprisingly looked down at the groggy little girl in her arms. “I still have to go potty.”

Chapter Sixteen

Cindy Holmes had gotten done at the strip club at half past ten.  Seven hours up in front of horny men, stripping for all that she was worth – with nothing really to show for it, except for blistered, sore, feet.  If it wasn't enough that she had to degrade herself for money, then it was that persisted fear of what her boyfriend, Shawn, would do to her if she didn't arrive home soon after – already she was late. Shawn had ordered her to be home at ten, and it was edging precariously toward eleven.

He just didn't get it. Because he spent all her money on drugs and booze, she didn't have even enough for a car.

Sometimes she thought back to how simple life was back in Minnesota, before her parents' accident; she had been an innocent country girl, who had loved life. Yet, it had taken a drunk driver for her life to drastically change. Her only surviving relatives, had been her sadistic aunt and uncle. She had been fifteen when her uncle had tried to molest her, and seeing how things were just going to get progressively worse, she had taken off after he had been tried and found not guilty of the charge.

As it turned out, she really didn't have much experience out there in the real world – her parents had made sure to shelter her from men like Shawn Fenton.

At eighteen, she had met Shawn, who had seemed real sweet in the beginning, yet turned out to be a real jackass.  He slapped her around and forced himself on her, and any time she tried to leave him, he knew just where to find her. At this point in her life, he had beaten her down to the point, that her self-respect was low and she no longer had the energy to try and escape the man that she had come to hate more than the demeaning stripping.

Just the thought of Shawn, had her so panic-stricken, that her brain wasn't able to operate. Possibly if she had been more coherent, she wouldn't have gone down an, dark, abandoned alleyway. Yet, she was so racked with worried, that she was instantaneously taken off guard, when she smacked into someone. The moment she rammed into this person, she felt like she had hit a wall; she was instantly taken off balance and she lost the things in her hands. Yet, the astonishing thing about this, was that just the suddenness of running into this person, had her brain suddenly coming out of it's worried fog.

After this person practically knocked her over, she tried gathering up her bag and the items that had fallen out—she had just retrieved her teddy bear from the ground, when she heard the whistling.

“What do we have here?”

A fine piece of ass...”

As she continued to subconsciously gather up the rest of her items, she anxiously started looking around; at the looks of it, there were three men swarming around her—like a group of ants to a piece of food on the ground.

As the men congregated around her, they started talking all at once.

She didn't know what to do; what to feel. All she could feel was this overwhelming fear, paralyzing her from head to toe.

It was when one of the men, the leader by the looks of it, made a grab for her, that she instantly came out of her paralyzed state and swiftly got to her feet. She could feel his fingers, skim across her arm, yet, because she had shrank away from him, he hadn't been able to get a firm hold on her.

Her items, including her teddy bear, forgotten; she was just about to run, when the leader, again, made a grab for her and this time was able to grab hold of her arm.

“Please!!!” she screamed. “Please!!!” she was crying so hard, that she didn't even notice that two more men had shown up.

Let the lass go.”

These two men's sudden arrival, hadn't just surprised Cindy, but her captures were also surprised – not surprised enough, though, to let her go. Turning they all four gawked at the two men standing there—men who didn't at all look like Tucson natives.

The one had long blond hair, green eyes, and was slightly tanned. The other one had long sun streaked auburn hair, dark forest green eyes, and had much more of a fairer complexion than his companion. Both of these two had strong physiques, yet the auburn haired man had a more powerful physique and, while they both were approximately six foot in height, the auburn haired man was about a foot taller than his companion.

The man who had a hold of Cindy threw her to his buddies, who instantly started fondling her.

While the three men who had accosted Cindy, should have been afraid of the two men, in front of them – for they didn't just look like they had stepped off a romance cover, but they had this dangerous aura to them—they weren't.

The three men that held her captive, felt that they had nothing to worry about. They were drug dealers and they knew how to handle distractions. Depending on whether or not that distraction was a woman or man, they either first raped that distraction and then shot it; or they just plainly shot it.

The leader of the group was Sherman Hermit; a dark skinned man, whose mother was black and his father Hispanic. He had never known his father. None of his buddies knew theirs either; their old men were either in prison or just not around.

Sherman's mother, was one of these overly religious women, who lived in this fantasy world of thinking her son was an angel; and maybe around her he was.

Pulling out his gun, Sherman pointed at the two and fired that first shot at the blond man – hitting him squarely in the head. No sooner had Sherman's victim gone down, did he turn the gun on the other man.

When Sherman saw the sick grin on the second man's face, he couldn't help feeling slightly unnerved about the man in front of him. Sherman couldn't say what bothered him more, that the auburn haired man wasn't even remotely unperturbed or that dark reddish tint that now outlined the irises of his forest green eyes – making them appear more animal, than human.

Why are you smiling?”

Because you shouldn't have done that.”

When the shot blond man suddenly stood up, Sherman and his two companions' were so surprised, that all they could do was stare at this man, who should be dead, but wasn't.

The whole time that Cindy had been standing there, watching this, she had only uttered a startled scream, when the blond man was shot; yet, after being shook by her captures, she had fallen silent – too afraid to do anything else. Yet now, that fear, had been replaced with shock; she stood there with her beautiful blue eyes practically bulging out of her head—unable to move.

The blond man had been shot—in the head.

How was it, that he was standing up; like nothing had happened?

It was during this time, that her assailants, who appeared more shocked than their captive, let her go. And Cindy could have run away, yet, for some reason, she couldn't seem to move her feet.

“I'm hungry...” the blond man looked at his companion. “What about you brother?”

Starved....” the auburn haired man's gaze went from Sherman, to his companion, and then lingered on Cindy, who, just from her deer in the headlights expression, was obviously petrified; if he had told her to leave or get down, she wouldn't have.

Leaning out, the blond haired man grabbed Sherman and, dragging the startled drug dealer toward him, he said, “Dinner.”

Before Sherman could even utter a scream, the blond sunk his fangs into Sherman's throat.

No sooner had he thrown Sherman's lifeless body to the side, did both him and his auburn haired brother advance on the other two men.

It was over before Cindy could even blink.

The two men, who had been holding her and fondling her breast, were dead. And she was standing there; scared out of her mind. Wondering, what would happen next?

When the auburn haired stranger leaned down and retrieved her bag, he noticed the teddy bear sticking out of it. It was old and raggedy. Yet, he could smell the cute little golden blond's, in front of him, scent all over it.

As his gaze raked over her, he noted her pale complexion and there were dark circles under her eyes – she seemed a lot older than she actually was. In all appearances, she appeared to live this rough, demeaning, life of exhausted hardship.

The moment Cindy's brain was able to work again, she started looking around. The three drug dealers, that were going to hurt her, laid motionless on the ground, and now these two men were left in their place.

With all this considered, she was left wondering if she preferred these two men over the three hoodlums.

When she saw that one of them was handling her bear, she said, “That's my teddy.”

Standing up, with her teddy and bag, he came toward her, “Okay...here....” holding the bear out to her, he smiled when she, after a brief hesitation, eventually reached out for it.

He didn't even give her time to be surprise, at the smooth feel of his fingers skimming across her skin.

No sooner did she feel his sensual touch, was he taking advantage of her shock, to pull her into his arms. “Ye're an awfully pretty lass...I think I'm going to take ye home with me.” when she shivered, but didn't pull away, he looked over at the blond haired man, “I found someone worth turning in early...”

“Ah..., come on, the night is young...Let this little one go, Alister...Besides she looks a little sickly.”

Looking down at Cindy, Alister noticed how she, nervously, put a strand of her hair in her mouth. “Do ye want to come home with me, lass?” he asked.

As Cindy looked up into Alister's green gaze, she found her fear quickly replaced with the desire to go with the man in front of her. He was handsome and didn't look at all like the prick that she had waiting for her at home; he didn't look like a man that would blow her paycheck on drugs and booze.

When Alister suddenly nuzzled her neck, she was surprised by this. Yet, that surprise was quickly replaced with desire at the feel of his lips and the scrap of his teeth on her exposed skin.
