Chapter 6

Elissa sat at her kitchen. She had been home for about two weeks. She had taken time of work to come to grips with what had happened to her and what she had discovered.

Wolves. Werewolves to be more specific. Living in plain sight with everyone else. She didn’t know whether to laugh or run for the hills. It was something out of a fairytale.

Vance had tried to talk to her after everything had happened but she had told him she needed time.

He agreed, although she could tell it was very hard on him. Before her mother had passed away, she had told her she was special, but she just thought that was something a mother would say to her child.

She now knew that she had meant literally. Her blood. Vance had told her after why she had been taken. The black wolf, Patrick Wilkos wanted her for her blood. To use it to kill Alphas and take over their packs.

She couldn’t believe he almost succeeded. It was bad enough that he had killed one man with the use of her blood. It was insane.
This new world that was presented to her was a strange world. But if she was honest with herself, Vance was still Vance. He could just turn into a wolf on command.

She almost laughed at that thought but held her laughter.

A song popped in her head at the situation.
This shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S

She grabbed her phone and went to her call log. She dialed a number her fingers been itching to dial day in and day out.

“Elissa. I’m glad you called.”

“It took awhile but I think I can finally listen to what it is you have to say. I mean it's kind of selfish of me to not let you explain.”

She heard him breathe a sigh of relief. “I’m glad you’ve changed your mind. I want to see you. These last two weeks have been hell.”

“Yes, but if it's okay, I would like to come to you. I want to see your world.”

He sounded excited. “I would love that. Two of my men have been protecting your house. Now before you freak out I told them they were no longer needed, but they insisted. I want you to know besides myself, they have pledged their lives to you as your protectors."

“My protectors?"

“All in good time. They should be knocking on your door now. They will take you here to my home. I promise Elissa, you will be safe.”

“I’m taking your word on that.”

Elissa heard a knock at her door.

“They're here now. I’ll see you in a few.”

Thirty minutes later, the SUV pulled up to a warehouse. The two men who escorted her were polite and she recognized them as the two men who had came in to order some food before she was kidnapped. She asked them if they were werewolves too. They nodded.

She wondered how many people she had met on a day to day basis were werewolves. It was still a lot to absorb.

The two men flanked her as she got out of the car and led her to a door at the back of the warehouse.

Matt entered in a long access code and then put his thumb on a scanner. The door popped open and they went inside.

Vance was waiting in the corridor. Just the sight of him made her heart flip. She had been fooling herself in thinking that she could stay away from him. She didn’t know when it had happened or if the recent series of events had led to it, but she loved him. He made her feel good. This was his life and she would try her best to accept it.

He walked up to her and put his arms around her. “Elissa. It's so good to see you.”

She just hugged him. Took in the feel of being in his arms. His smell. His touch. Oh how she had missed him!

“You two are dismissed.”

They both hesitated. Vance stared them down. "Now.”

They both looked at her and bowed their heads. They did the same to Vance and walked off down the hall.

Vance turned to her. “There is so much I want to show you, but I think we should talk first and then I’ll let you decide what you want to do.”

“Fair enough.” She let him take her hand and lead her into a room not far from the door they had just come through.

She sat down at a small table and Vance sat next to her.

“First, let me say that I’m sorry for keeping all this from you. I never wanted to hurt you. I just wanted you to know ‘me’ before I dropped this on you. Can you please forgive me for that?”

“Yes.”

He took a deep breath and continued. “When I first saw you, you had me hooked, and you hadn’t even said a word to me. I was drawn to you unlike I have been with any other female. You appealed to my wolf, Elissa. No one else has ever gotten his attention. I knew I had to have you when I heard one word repeating in my head. One word coming from my wolf.”

“And what word was that Vance?”

“Mine. Short sweet and to the point.”

“So you knew at the bar that night that I was different.”

“No, I didn’t. I didn’t know that until later. After I left you that night, I knew you were being followed. I knew it was for a good reason or they wouldn’t be bothering with a human.

I also knew that night, that everyday would be hell for me if I wasn’t with you. That every moment spent away from you would be like a nightmare.”

“Why, Vance. We just had sex. I thought…”

“Wolves have a way of knowing who they are to spend the rest of their life with. They can smell their mates. It’s a scent known only to them. No one else can smell it. Once they know who their mate is, the mating pull takes hold of them and its damn near impossible for them to be without each other.”

“Wait, Vance.” she said. “Are you telling me I’m your mate?”

“Yes love, that’s exactly what I’m telling you. It's been agony being next to you and not being able to claim you. I wanted to tell you every day, but we can't just trust anyone with this secret. I had to know that you wouldn’t reject me when I told you.”

“Vance, I don’t want you to be unsure anymore. I came here knowing already what I would choose to do. I’ve had two weeks to think about this. I won't claim to know what it means to be a werewolf. I won't pretend to understand this life. But I know it’s a part of you and that makes me want to know more. I love you Vance. Not because of what you are, but who you are.

He closed his eyes, and she saw him breathing deep. “Did you really think I was going to push you away? I wouldn’t have come here for that.”

The flicker of gold came to his eyes again. “I’m just happy that you love me. That means the world to me.”

He pulled her in for a kiss. She would've gasped if he left her strength to gasp. She missed him, his touch, his smell, the way he pulled her into him. The kiss ignited a fire deep within her that burned hotter by the second. She curled her toes and felt all the doubts and questions melt away in her mind. When they broke apart, Elissa had trouble breathing.

“You know what this means right?” He said smiling.

“What?”

“That we will be mated. You will be turned.”

“Will it hurt?” She breathed, knowing what he was about to say but still wishing to hear it from his lips.

“No. The change will be like second nature to your body. It will be as if you never were human.”

“Then yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes.” She laughed. “Take me inside. I want to see where you live and how your life functions when you're not the famous Vance Weiss.”

Laughing, he picked her up and kissed her. “I love you Elissa.”

“I love you too Vance.”

Chapter 7

Under the darkness of the new moon, Elissa walked towards the compound. In the dark, she heard the rustling footsteps of countless other wolves and saw their flashing yellow eyes. Wolves young and old, healthy and weak. Each wolf bowed as she walked past them, some muttering “Madam Alpha.” She wasn’t quite sure what to think. As she stepped closer to the compound, her heart thudded harder against her ribs and the thought of turning around flitted more than once across her mind.

Yet in the end, she found herself standing before the great doors.

“Madam Alpha.” The two Betas who had trailed her like her own faithful shadow bowed and opened the door.

Vance was waiting for her. He was dressed simply but sharply. Dark grey pants hugged his strong legs and a light silk shirt with dark onyx buttons concealed his chiseled body. Yet when he moved, Elissa could see the ripples of his powerful physique beneath the soft fabric.

His smile was infectious and she couldn’t help feel her lips curling up for him. His hand extended towards her—warm and inviting—and she took it without hesitation. The touch was electrifying and left her shivering in anticipation of what lied ahead.

Vance’s fingers tightened against Elissa’s and for a moment their heartbeats matched. It was like a wicked brew that brought out her unquenchable curiosity that demanded to be sated.

The door closed with a gentle finality.

“You’re beautiful.” Vance whispered at Elissa, a fire smoldering in his eyes that burned for her and her alone. “I can’t promise I won’t bite.”

Elissa stared into those beautiful eyes flecked with gold—one moment the eyes of a wolf and the other moment a man’s—and her lips parted as her hips floated towards Vance, her body knowing exactly what she wanted.

She licked her lips and drew close, letting Vance’s heat pour over her. “Don’t make a girl a promise you can’t keep.”

A growl rumbled—deep and hungry—as Vance dipped his head and raised Elissa’s lips.

There was no more hesitation, no more doubt, and no more questions. From the moment Vance’s lips touched hers, Elissa was his. The scorching silken softness drowned her in a delicious wild passion that set her soul aflame.

As he kissed her, he snaked his tongue into her mouth, daring her to go further and abandon all that she’s known.

And she did. Slowly at first, but bolder with every breath and every sigh until there was nothing more in the world but the two of them. He was all she wanted, all she needed, all that she’d missed in the world.

They came closer, closer still, and Vance’s hand slipped beneath Elissa’s shirt. The gentle touch would’ve sent her moaning in pleasure if her breath hadn’t already been taken away. Where she’d resisted him on that first night, he tore down her barriers like a flood against a weakened levee. Where she’d teased him, so he teased her now, taking her to higher and higher places until the world spun dizzily around her.

His hand cupped her breast and deft fingers tweaked her nipples until a numb pleasant pain coursed through her body. The empty compound sighed under the stars as a slow breeze wound through its halls to kiss at Elissa’s bare legs—made barer as Vance tugged on her skirt.

She trembled and he pulled her even closer. The space between them no more than imagined. A brush of his fingers and her shoulder was bare. The soft fabric of her shirt continued to roll until her ample breasts were exposed. Before she could protest, before she could think of covering herself, his head sniffed lower and his lips took a nipple between them.

“Oh Vance.” She gasped as that sweet mouth tugged and pulled at her core, drawing from her the slightest sighs and ripples of pleasure that burst and spread with every second.

His other hand slipped between her legs and inched upward until it touched her in that place so private that she’d almost forgotten he’d visited once before. A flash of embarrassment came, but only a flash. Her legs loosened almost as quickly as she tried—futilely—to close them.

He whispered hushed words in her ears as his touch urged her up, still up.

More!
She cried silently and as if he could read her mind—
could he?
She wondered—he dipped down to nibble at her neck, his lips leaving hot wet prints on her supple tingling skin.

All the while, the fingers between her legs continued moving up. When they brushed the edge of her sex—wet and trembling—Elissa gasped and shuddered. Her body begged Vance to continue, begged him to ease the sweet torture.

Her hand reached forward until it touched the outline of his manhood straining against his tight pants.

Mine
. She thought as Vance’s lips and tongue descended lower, between the furrow of her breasts and lower still over her stomach.
Mine, mine, mine.

She could resist no more, could hesitate no more. Yet Vance moved away, taking with it his swelling member that she wanted so much. Her eyes closed and she could see his sex outlined in the dark, throbbing with desire for her.

“Please, Vance… Please…” She would have said but a sudden warmth touched between her legs at the nub of pleasure that bottled all words in her throat.
Mate
, the thought ran through her head. Was this what it meant? Mate? She didn’t mind it.

“Patience, Elissa.” Vance’s voice rumbled between her legs and sent fresh tingles through her body. His tongue traced lines and drew shapes unknown between her legs. Each stroke bringing with it another drop of nectar, another line of her own desires. Her eyes rolled back as she seized tufts of his hair, pulling him closer to her, urging him to explore the deepest secrets her body has to offer.

When her eyes opened, she found him—kneeling between her legs like an adoring supplicant before his goddess—staring at her with those smoldering eyes and her heart melted. With her heart came her body and she would’ve collapsed were it not for his strong arms holding her up.

He drew himself up, retracing the path he had already made until the tips of their noses brushed against each other in the dark.

“I want you, Vance. Take me. Love me. Promise me.” Was all she could muster as their lips locked again and she tasted herself—sweet and musky—on his breath.

Silence descended and for a moment Elissa forgot that the world existed. There was only Vance. Vance, his touch, and his kiss.

He cradled her in his hands as he guided her towards him. Still locked in their kiss until he sank onto the feather soft bed. Only then did he break from the kiss and look Elissa with all the intensity in the world.

“Oh, but I already do.”

***

Elissa’s scent—rich and womanly—filled Vance’s nose as he dove between her thighs once again. Her scent, her warmth, everything about this woman drove Vance nuts. He grew bolder with every touch and in his boldness he felt his wolf rising to the surface, demanding fulfillment. For moments he feared that he might lose control but the sighs and moans from his beloved’s throat kept him in check.

He’d always taken what he wanted yet this want was something he never felt before: a primal want that had one satisfaction and one demand, to have the squirming woman beneath him, utterly and totally.

He pushed her legs apart and burrowed deeper. His cock ached as it strained against its confines, screaming for release.

God he loved her. The way her hair—tangled and messy—hid enticing secrets that waited for his hands to unravel, the way her clothes fit her—so natural yet enticing, and each time he touched her, his own body shuddered at the spark he felt.

The rich heady scent filled his nose again and from there, shot to his head like the strongest liquors he’d ever tasted.

She writhed and twisted from his touch. Her hands at once fumbled with his shirt and at once gripped the sheets.

“Please, Vance, please let me return the favor.” She breathed when he crawled up again to bite her lightly on the nose.

Wordless, he bent to his task once again. His mouth closed around her nipple again and he sucked, teasing their sensitive tip with his tongue. She moaned when he found that sweet spot. When he refused to let go, the moan grew louder and rose in pitch until he could hear her heart singing. All the while, her hips rose up to meet his.

She gasped when he slid a finger into her wetness, tightened her fingers on his back when he began to move. When he teased her deepest pleasure, her eyes flew open and Vance saw hazel fire. His thumb rested atop the nub and teased her as he dug deeper and all the while, Elissa shuddered, moaning. “More… more…”

He smiled.

She was his.

Forever.

***

When Vance finally pulled his fingers out—slick and dripping, Elissa was beside herself. An emptiness had filled her when he backed away, an emptiness that demanded satisfaction. She cradled Vance’s head in her hand and pushed him back into the bed. Bending down to kiss him, she tugged open his pants to let his straining manhood out.

The slick head rose to meet her eager mouth, a drop of pearl adorning its tip. She let her breath envelop the hardness before she closed her mouth around it, smiling inwardly as Vance groaned. Slowly, she took him in her mouth. Her tongue feathered the swollen head and her mouth throbbed with Vance’s heartbeat.

Up and down, up and down. Her hair tumbled down, pooling on Vance’s strong thighs as she feasted. She pushed down until the full length pressed against the edge of her throat before easing away, pulling a line of spittle between the two of them.

Again and again she dove, each time bringing him so close to climax that he whimpered like a lost puppy.

“Dammit, Elissa.” He finally breathed. “What are you doing to me? You’re going to make me explode.”

She smiled at him coquettishly and tightened her grip. “That’s the idea.”

He threw his head back and growled as she went down on him again. She tasted him as he flowed, filling her mouth with his warm scent. She loved it. She loved him. From the way his body shook to her touch to the way he would mutter her name in that strained husky voice.

When he’d finally had enough, he pulled her up to him and kissed her again. His fingers splayed her wet lips and the heat seared between her legs.

“Take me, Vance.” She begged, breathless.

Without word he pushed his hips up and Elissa gasped at the pain—brief and hot. It faded quickly enough as Vance kissed her again, draining the breath from her lungs as he took her breasts in his hands. When he started to move, she felt her world falling away.

Slowly at first but faster and faster with deepening strokes, Vance Weiss claimed his mate, filled her with his heat and manhood until her insides were as molten as her heart. Tightening her ample thighs around his narrow hips, Elissa matched him stroke for stroke.

“Yes… Yes!” She called in the darkness as her back arched to give him better access, to let himself plunge deeper. He trembled beneath her but continued nonetheless. A hand shot up and wrapped itself in her hair, yanking her head back to expose her smooth neck.

She felt his open mouth against her skin; felt his throat rumble with words but his pleasure took away his words just as her pleasure had taken hers. But there was no need to hear the words from Vance. Elissa knew what words were coming.

Mine. Forever and ever
.

And when he finally came, sending jets of hot scorching seed inside her in deep ropey spurts, he tightened his teeth around her shoulder. As teeth broke skin, Elissa felt something else move inside her, something closer to her. Like putting on a new glove, she felt the change slowly taking her and heard her own wolf for the first time.

And as the two collapsed into sweet bliss, Elissa wondered what her wolf looked like. She clenched tightly, milking Vance for every drop of his seed and for a brief moment, she could swear she heard her own wolf howling with his.
