Before you go on to read this story, there are a few things you should know:

(1) The Final Version of ‘The Cries of the Butterfly – A LOVE STORY’ published on 24

Prior to that, a Beta-version was published for around 25 Beta-readers.

(2) From the very beginning, I decided to keep ALL family, friends, acquaintances (even the remotest acquaintance) far away from my book. Why? Because I wanted ONLY complete strangers to read and judge it...wanted only genuine, honest, unbiased judgment. True, this insistence on shutting out family/friends/acquaintances instantly took away a large chunk of potential readers (what most authors heavily rely on) and handed me a major handicap right at the beginning of my campaign to promote the book. Nevertheless, I stuck to this position as I strongly believe that the sheer quality of ‘The Cries of the Butterfly – A LOVE STORY’ will in course take it to its rightly place.

(3) All the reviews acquired during the Beta-Period are completely genuine…totally honest. These were sourced from an authorized Amazon affiliate, so honesty was assured. In fact, I do not remotely know any of the reader-critics who reviewed the book and never tried to contact them in any way. (After all, wasn’t that the whole purpose of me keeping away all family/friends/acquaintances in the first place?)

(4) During this Beta-Period, some concerns were raised by a couple of reader-critics. Most authors would have quietly ignored these given that an overwhelming proportion of critics (88%) have nothing but genuinely great words for the book. However, I believe that ALL valid reader concerns deserve to be noted, and addressed wherever possible. Hence I’ve put forth an explanation to each point raised on my website. This can be read here:

(5) The Price Point of $9.99.
Here’s the thing (two things, really):
(a) You Do Not Get a Rolls Royce for the price of a Nissan Versa.
(And yet, at $10, this Rolls Royce is still at a throwaway price.)
(b) This could easily have been 3 books, given the trend these days—of authors stretching basically one short story to 3 novels and 4-5 movies (no names…but we all know what and who all I’m talking about). Honestly, that’s rank dishonesty on the author’s part and mercenary behavior in the extreme. It’s basically cheating readers you’ve somehow managed to hook. Well, I refuse to behave this way. I’d rather tag my book $10 but give the reader the full worth at one go

($9.99 is still a price that’s actually only a couple of dollars above per hour minimum wage.)
