“Your ass is amazing,” he muttered against her neck. He pulled her tighter against his body and she felt the strong length of him, felt his erection against her stomach. She ran her hands over his hips and around to his bottom.

“Yours is pretty amazing too, cowboy.”

He pulled back, only slightly, his eyes ablaze.

She wanted him more than she ever had before. The moment was amazing with their arms around each other, intimate and heart wrenching. She smoothed her fingers along his spine, swirling them along each vertebra, feeling the coiled muscle and thick lines. He still watched her, expecting and mesmerizing as she dipped her fingers into the waist of his jeans.

He reached around, grabbed her other hand and brought it up to plant a quick kiss on each of her knuckles. She smiled. Then he suckled one digit into his mouth, sliding it deeper and the slight massaging feel of his tongue made her pussy throb in rhythm. She couldn’t tear her gaze away from his as he watched her with such a rawness that she couldn’t come to grips with. She’d never had a man look at her with complete desire, such heavy deep passion. She wanted to be looked at with such emotion every day of her life…

What the hell…?

She took a step back, wrapping her brain around the heaviness of her thoughts.

“Felicia?”

“Dade…”

“Have you changed your mind?”

She gave her head a quick shake. “No, not at all.”

He cupped her face, held it within inches of his own and he didn’t make a move, just held her close. “Listen, sweetheart, I want you. You’re a beautiful, smart, sweet woman, and sexy as hell. I don’t want to move too fast, take things too fast, it just seems we’re being dragged through a foreign universe.”

She closed her eyes for a second and inhaled sharply. When she opened them, she knew then that she could tell him anything. “I was just caught up in the magic of the moment. These feelings.”

“It is pretty damn mystical, huh?”

He slid his fingertips down her cheek, along her bottom lip. There was a raging tug of war between her mind and her heart. It wasn’t logical to think she was falling in love with him, not this soon. Not possible. And yet, her heart screamed a gamut of emotions, all pointing toward her love for this man—a forever man that was solid and true. He was only supposed to be her discreet cowboy for a good time and somehow he’d dug a path straight into her soul. He monopolized her cosmos. He intoxicated her with his closeness. She became drunk on his touch, his scent, his feel. And she never wanted the emotions to end. Never wanted to face a day without knowing she could see him, be near him, love him with all of her heart. There, in that moment, she gave herself to her future with Dade.

She took his hand and led him toward the bed. There, she laid down and he beside her, covering her body with his. He kissed each side of her mouth, his eyes connecting with hers, their breaths mingling—giving life to one another.

His body felt so good—felt so right. His long muscular length seemed perfect against her softer curves. They were perfect together. How could it get any better?

His knees slid between her legs, parting her thighs, and she could feel the impressive length of his erection against her burning thighs.

She pressed her hands against his warm skin, caressing his abs, upward to his flat, tanned nipples, giving them a flick with her short nails. She rubbed his ribs, smooth and taut. He kissed her, making her crazy with his tongue as he ran his palm down her hip, over her jeaned thigh. Then his touch came at her breast and, because that wasn’t enough for either of them, he slid his hand up underneath the material and pressed one mound into his palm. Her nipples beaded and chafed, and she arched against him, sending him a silent message.  Her nipples strained against the lace of her thin bra, wanting more, wanting his mouth.

She gazed up into perfect hazel eyes that were filled with hunger and longing. She touched his cheek and the layer of beard tickled her skin.

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered. “I can’t seem to get enough of you.”

“I love being here, close to you. Your hands on me.”

“You do?” He was kissing her face, lifting a strand of her hair to his nose and inhaling.

“Yes,” she answered.

“Your skin, it’s so soft and smells like cotton candy. I love how your neck curves.” He swept his finger along the line. “How your collarbones bow. Your firm breasts. Stomach. Luscious thighs. God’s creation.”

She smiled, feeling special under his kind words.

He kissed her and pulled back. “I have to admit I’ve never felt this vulnerable. Men aren’t supposed to feel so damn weak.”

Each word burrowed into her brain, the gravity of them. “I wouldn’t call that weakness. I call that tapping into your loving side.”

He tipped her chin so that their gazes connected. “I’ve never been this way before. But I have to confess, while I was in the bullpen and the chance of anything happening, all I could see was your face in my mind, encouraging me.”

She swallowed. “I’m glad I could help because I was actually at the sideline cursing you for taking the risk.”

His lips covered hers, languorously kissing her, slipping his tongue in and out. He shifted his hips and she lifted hers to meet his, grinding against him, and the bulge that told her exactly how much he wanted her. A groan escaped his throat and she lapped up the sound with her kiss.

Her blood boiled in need. She was at a crossroads, a pathway of her choosing. She wanted to take things fast and hard, and yet she needed slow and easy.

He lifted himself on his knees and brought her with him to a sitting position. He grabbed the hem of her shirt and tugged it over her head. “I need to see you.” His words were breathless and needy. She was then naked under his gaze, goosebumps scattering her flesh. “Damn. You’ll be the death of me,” he murmured, kissing her chastely as he swept a hand down her back, playing her spine like a harp until he reached her ass. She purred in utter delight at his long fingers on her trembling skin.

“We shouldn’t take this slow or I think I’ll combust,” she whispered.

“Ahh, but slow means I get to explore and tease.” He tapped her chin. “A good idea, but a hard action to pull through.”

Her breathing was labored and her heart beat as if the appendage was the drum set for a heavy metal band.
Oh, what this man does to me! All around me and through me.

“On second thought, I’ve changed my mind.” He chuckled. “Slow is for sloths, not passionate people.”

“Well, sweetheart, glad we agree.” She ran her hands through his hair, completely and desperately overcome with her emotion for him. She could stay there forever, his arms nestled around her, a safe zone she’d never known before. “You make me smile. I like that.”

He looked at her, completely serious. “You make me forget all of the hard times.” He sighed heavily. “I can’t keep my hands off of you. This is threaded with secrets, taboo, and yet I can’t help myself. I don’t have a clue what you’re doing to me, what you’ve done to me, but you’re under my skin, as important to my body as my lungs and heart. I’m under your spell, angel, good and bad. I’m in this for wherever it takes me.”

“I like having you here, under my spell. I’m a little greedy when it comes to the things I like, and I like you, a lot—maybe more than a lot.” She lowered her gaze, wanting to shout the roof off.

He touched her chin, his roughened fingers gliding over her sensitive skin. She brought her gaze up and he held it with his own. “You make me want to be a better man. That’s as deep and heavy as it gets.”

She inhaled sharply. Everything in her body ignited at once. Her heart pounded, her hands shook, and her knees bounced together. He stole something from her at that moment, something she’d clung to most of her life, and that was her ability to turn her emotions on and off. Resist and deny love. No, she’d never been in love before, not until now and the realization that she loved him took hold of her like the jaws of a shark, biting her to the core. She should say something, anything, but when he pulled her close and she heard the strong beats of his heart, she was speechless. She leaned her cheek against his rock hard chest, spreading her fingers wide over his iron torso and swallowed against the constriction in her throat. Lifting her face, his hot breath swept across her forehead, then his lips hovered over hers. Her pulse raced triple time and she felt dizzy, excited, like she could fight Goliath. Everything outside of their cocoon no longer existed, all traces of denial and uncertainty gone. Everything ceased to affect them except for the whirlwind going on within them, between them. He kissed her, sending a jolt rocking through her, and she was on fire.

An overwhelming yearning took shape between her inner thighs as she melted into him. A small, desperate moan escaped her trembling lips that were crushed under his. Gripping his shoulders, she tipped her head back, opening to him, welcoming his tongue into her mouth, giving him the go-ahead to take her down any path he wished. She wanted to give him everything she had, which might not be a lot, but it was all to her. All doubts vanished, replaced by the knowledge that with him, she’d always be safe and loved.

Lust consumed her as he continued ravaging her mouth, conquering her, melting her into a puddle of passion and pleasure. His warm hands trailed over her trembling skin, seeping into her bones, scorching them. The soft hairs on her body lifted, her nipples beaded into diamond rocks, and her toes curled. She needed more of him and tugged at his jeans, unsnapping and unzipping them with quivering fingers. The waist of his jeans gapped and she swept her fingers inside, along his hips, across his warm skin. At the indentation of his tailbone, she took in the hard muscle, skimming her fingers along his warm back, the coiled muscle, the smooth skin, his heat. He flexed under her touch as she moved her palm. His breath caught and she smiled—loved having the power of effect over him. His warm fingers pressed against her neck, sending more tense shivers down her spine, pooling at the apex of her trembling thighs. He covered her mouth with his and the kiss intensified, feeding each other oxygen, exchanging heat between their bodies. Making silent promises.

She wanted all of him, everything he had to give too. She was generously willing to hand over her heart, and selfishly wanting his in return. She wanted to be a part of his days and nights, his promises and thoughts. More than anything, she wanted to feel his body press into hers, wanted to become one and feel a much needed release. He reached down and grabbed her ass, never breaking contact between their mouths, and he held her close as he shifted into a sitting position on the bed. She spread her thighs wide over his hips, sprawling atop him, feeling the bulge of his erection through the unzipped jeans. She rolled her hips, enticing him with her core while a pulsating energy passed between them. Her clit pulsated and she was growing closer to orgasm and he hadn’t even penetrated her yet. Some men could make a woman a limp orgasmic noodle just by being close. Dade certainly was the man who could do this to her.

Running her fingers through his hair, she nibbled his bottom lip, suckling the swollen flesh. He moaned and the sound vibrated her nipples.

“You’re a wild woman,” he mumbled against her lips, his breath warm against her cheek.

“Do you like it?”

“More than you can imagine.” He sighed deeply. “How do you want it, sweetheart? Fast, slow, or soft and sweet?”

“Yes.”

He chuckled. “I can manage that.” He pushed her back slightly. “You’re different, Felicia. Your touch, so different,” he said in a breathless tone.

She nodded. So many words lingered on her tongue, but she couldn’t, not yet. It was too soon. “I’ve never been this on fire.”

He kissed her cheek and threaded his fingers through her hair, whispering in her ear. “Allow me to put out the fire.”

She sunk her teeth into her bottom lip as every nerve ending on her body was shot with adrenaline. His eyes were pensive and his erection had grown out of the top of his jeans. “Please. Do.”

His eyes sparkled in mischief, his contemplative stare burrowing into her. Her body tingled like champagne had been poured into her bloodstream. She was as light as a cloud and pulses of electrical current pushed through her. Her breathing was labored as she concentrated on making her lungs work, and keeping her knees from shaking. Her excitement matched that of going to her first concert and managing to get up on stage. The rush of skydiving when she was eighteen. The acceptance letter to graduate school. All rolled into one, right here and right now.

Skimming her fingers over his jaw, along his neck, over his warm chest to his six pack, every inch of him made her weak with need. She followed the lines of the tattoo on his rib cage, along the tribal designs that surrounded the small cross. The dark ink stood out against the darker skin of his body. Suddenly, she wanted to know everything about him. His favorite color. What his goals were. Did he like country music. “You’re a beautiful man.”

“And you, sweetheart, are an aphrodisiac.” He nibbled the sensitive skin of her neck.

“I want you naked.” She tugged at his jeans.

“Then let me make you happy”

His words held such promise, but she didn’t stop to dissect them. She could do that later. Shifting off his lap, she tugged at the denim as he lifted his hips and together they dragged the material off his legs. As many times as she’d seen him naked, she still had a desire to admire his body. His wide shoulders, smooth chest with only a spattering of crisp hair in the center, the coiled, lean muscle. His erection amazed her. She’d had her mouth wrapped around the wide girth, but each time she was astounded at his beauty, the slick skin stretched over his iron muscle. He was a map of solid bends and curves, coils and masculinity, and she’d never get tired of looking.
