With exaggerated effort, Monty extracted a slip of paper from his pocket and extended it to a stunned Chastity.

She blinked and gazed down at the blurry numbers on the check.
So many zeros
. She trembled, remembering why she had entered the contest, the reason for it sitting safely next to her. Chastity closed her eyes for a moment, recalling her anxiety when Seth appeared on stage. Seven days, six nights as slave to the only man she ever loved. The ups and downs she had experienced. Slowly, her chin rose and she opened her eyes. Seth smiled, his head nodding toward the check in encouragement. “Go ahead—take it. You won, baby, it’s yours.”

? Little goose bumps rose all over Chastity’s body as her fingers closed around the cool paper.

It was true, Voyeur II had lost and Chastity had won. She glanced up at Seth. Without a second thought, she passed the draft to her mother. Tears glistened in Celeste’s eyes as she stared down at the check in her hand. Then her eyes rose. “Chastity?”

Chastity swallowed hard. “It’s yours, Mom.” She clasped Seth’s hand and weaved her fingers through his. She turned and gazed deep into his bright eyes. “I gained something more precious than money, Mom. I won a second chance at love.”
