Blair shrugged. “We’ll see.”

Cassie’s look darkened. “Blair, don’t do anything
stupid.”

Blair shook her head. “Don’t worry about it. I won’t.”

Cassie let the subject drop, but still she worried for
Blair.

“Did you hear about Kathy?” Blair asked.

Cassie nodded. “Yeah I saw her in the woods with Dani.
I guess she is in some trouble.”

“When she is found.
Right
now, Cole is looking for her. Yeah, she is in trouble,” Blair said ominously.

Two weeks later Cassie was again fully healthy. She
lay in the soft bed cuddled up against Michael. “Good morning,” his deep voice
murmered
in her ear.

“Good morning,” Cassie said with a stretch.

“I am glad to see you are finally awake. I was
beginning to think of ways to wake you.” Michael gave her a grin that left no
doubt to his carnal intentions

“Maybe I should go back to sleep then. I feel cheated
now.”

Michael gave her a lecherous grin. “Then I will have
to make it up to you. I can’t have you feeling bad.”

Michael slid down her body and shoved her legs
apart. She sighed when his tongue lightly stroked over her clit. Michael used
his hands to pull the lips of her pussy apart, and expose her clit even more to
him. He swirled his tongue over the nub making Cassie’s legs try to close. The
pressure in her abdomen was coiling, making her pant with need. She was right
on the edge of an orgasm when he stopped.

Cassie whimpered at the loss, and wiggled her hips to try to entice him
back.

Michael chuckled.
“So impatient.”

“Michael, that’s not nice.”

Cassie’s whine turned to shrieks of laughter
when Michael ran his teeth lightly over her ribs.
“Stop!”
She tried to buck him off as she laughed.

“So ticklish.”
Michael
continued his track up her body, pausing at her breast to nip and lick one
nipple. Cassie sighed at the erotic sensation. She moaned when his finger
lightly circled her clit. It wasn’t enough to make her come, only just enough
to keep her on the edge.

Cassie dug her fingers into his shoulders. “Michael,
please.” She squirmed in an attempt to make him give her just enough pressure
to send her over the cliff into ecstasy.

Michael’s lifted his head up, his eyes burning with
lust. “You are so beautiful. The way you call my name touches something deep
inside my soul that I never knew existed. I do not know how I ever survived
without you, Cassie. You are my world now, and without you I would be lost.”

Cassie felt tears form in her eyes. She could see the
sincerity of his words in the expression on his face. “I love you, Michael,
more than anyone, or anything. I, too, could not imagine going on without you.”

Michael lined his cock up with her pussy and slowly
entered her. Cassie arched her back with a moan as his cock hit sensitive
nerves deep within her sex. She felt so full when he entered her, like a part of
her that was missing was in place.

“We fit perfectly together, you and
I
.”

Michael lowered his head and claimed her lips
in a passionate kiss. His tongues danced with hers as his hands stroked over
her body. He pulled out his cock until just the head remained, then thrust back
in.

Cassie moved her own hips to match his thrust, and
took him deeper. Michael’s cock moved over her internal nub sending waves of
bliss through her with each stroke. She moved her face to the side needing more
air. She gasped huge gulps of air while Michael moved faster. She was so close
that she could feel the orgasm building. “Michael, Michael,” she whispered as
her body raced to the edge of pleasure.

Michael’s hand reached down between their bodies, and he
stroked her clit. “Come for me,” he commanded.

Cassie obeyed as flashing lights appeared in her
vision. Wave after wave of fiery pleasure engulfed her. Her pussy contracted
around his cock.

Michael’s thrusts stuttered, and his muscles tensed.
She felt his shaft pulsing in her, filling her with his seed. He groaned and
relaxed, kissing her forehead, nose, and lips. He let himself fall to her side
and pulled her to him.

Cassie looked up into his face, and he was looking
down at her with love shining plainly in his own eyes. “How did I ever get so
lucky to find you?” she asked.

“I could ask the same question. My life before you
seems so empty now.” Michael sighed with regret. “We are expected at Blair’s
coffee house in less than an hour. If we do not move now I am afraid we will offend
her by not showing up.”

She sat at the
table with her friends. Mostly they had a good time, but every now and then a
shadow of fear came over Cassie. She would look out the window and think she
saw her father, whose face she couldn’t remember. One thing she did remember.
He’d laughed and told her she had siblings. She had been out of her mind in
pain, but she remembered him brushing his lips against her ear.
“Do you think I feel any sympathy for you?
I don’t. I killed two of my daughters I knew were mine. Your mother wasn’t the
only woman I ever fucked. It is easy to find girls for my own amusement. Human
or shifter, I don’t really care. I just need bodies to continue my work. Once I
find the key to controlling shifters it will all be worth it.”

The knowledge that she had siblings out there, some
that had suffered horrible deaths, and he had planned to kill her the same way,
chilled her to the core, and made her fear him all the more. Did she put this
town in danger by staying here? Her father was insane, and unpredictable.

Michael’s hand entwined in hers.
“Are you worrying about him again?”

She looked up, happy that Michael had been able to get
away from his meeting with Caleb to spend the morning with them. He rarely took
a break from business. Now that life was calming down, the project was what
everyone talked about. A mini mall, coming to Pleasant Cove!

“Yes, it scares me knowing they are both out there and
I can’t remember what he looks like, and knowing he can force me to do anything
he wants. What if he uses me to get to you?”

Michael put his arms around her, holding her close to
him. “You know you are safe here. The
cholan
know to
not allow you to go with anyone.”

Cassie nodded. “I do. It still scares me sometimes.”
She melted into his embrace. “He did terrible things to my mom before she ran.
He killed my sisters, and claims I have others he is still using. He made me
say things simply by looking at me.”

Michael nodded his grim face looked out the window.
“Yes, he is a very powerful shifter. That explains why the essence was reacting
so violently, but you have two of the strongest
cholan
protectors guarding you at all times. He won’t get through them. The most
powerful shifter can’t take on two highly trained protectors.” He kissed her.
“About your siblings, I can only say that if we find them, we will help them.
They would likely be damaged emotionally and physically, but Doctor Trask is
excellent at healing minds and bodies.”

“I know. You told me. It still scares me a little
though.”

“Try to think about our wedding instead.” His smile
dimmed a little.

Cassie turned to see Lucas walk down the street. She
had tried to not feel sorry for him, although she would never forgive him. She
didn’t care if he thought he was killing a psycho bitch or not. He murdered her
best friend and had attacked her.

But
when she saw him walking down the street looking so alone, it was hard to keep
up her resolve.
It is because of him you
found Michael. People accidentally kill people every day and are forgiven.
She
hated when that quiet voice spoke to her. She wanted to hate him, but was
finding it hard.

Ilithyia
had forgiven him
and allowed him to come onto shifter lands again, but he still stayed away. His
tracking abilities were as good as Cole’s and his top
cholan
,
so Lucas was asked to help when they needed to track a missing couple recently,
but then he had gone back to his cabin alone.

From the bags he carried he had supplies, and he was
walking on the road leading out of town.

Travis stood up. “Excuse me.”

He walked out of the restaurant and ran
towards Lucas. Travis and Lucas had been good friends before everything that
happened. Lucas saw Travis coming and turned away. His shoulders looked tense,
as if he expected a fight. Travis sped up and caught his arm. Lucas spun around
with a furious look on his face. Travis took the bags and talked to him. Lucas shook
his head a few times. Lucas’s face went from angry to longing. Finally he
allowed Travis to pull him to his truck. They both got into Travis’s pickup,
and he backed out.

“That there is a broken man,” Brad said with a touch
of sadness.

“Travis is there to keep an eye on him,” said Michael.
“We have been able to reverse some of the
psycologial
programming that was done to him. I just hope he is not too damaged to
recover.”

The room was quiet, but everyone understood what had
happened now.

Cassie concentrated on her coffee. She would say he
deserved everything he got, but no one ever deserved to have their family
murdered. She decided not to think about it anymore. She was getting married in
a couple of months. Her grandfather was also fully recovered, so they were
driving up to spend some time with her and get to know their new family. She
would focus on all that was right in her world.
