Candace Jane Dorsey is an author and instructor in my first writing class at the University of Alberta Extension. Because of her, I began to see hope that this story may be worth doing very well. Candace continued to be a source of inspiration and knowledge that guided me throughout this challenging and loved project.

Friends with experience in the naval forces advised me on military protocol and life aboard a ship. In particular, I am grateful to my friend, Bill Stevenson, Leading Torpedoman Operator, who served in WWII aboard the famous HMCS Haida, a Tribal class destroyer.

My first editor, Elizabeth Medwid, had patience matched by insistence on excellence. Elizabeth had a gift of telling me what precious pages had to be deleted, and managed to accomplish that with my ego still intact.

Since childhood, my mother, Margaret Woodroffe Cropley, nurtured my paranormal experiences. There were no chantings to gods or goddesses. But each time I told her of my visions or visitation of guides, she would quietly acknowledge and smile.

I am most grateful for my loving husband, Ralph Weir. Throughout the writing of this story he was my most critical advisor and greatest fan.

And dear reader, as Sidney said, “I am grateful for the love and guidance of the Guardians, for all the trials and tribulations that taught me tolerance and courage, and for all the events that led me to you.”
