He pressed against me, his hips swirling. His hands had an agenda of their own, roaming up and down my sides until they maneuvered beneath my shirt, lifting it in one seamless tug.

Our lips separated for just a single fraction of a second, but it felt like hours. My body went cold without him touching me. Darkness surrounded us, but I didn’t need to see him to feel him. He kissed me again with slower brushes, gentle and caressing. His tongue swept through my mouth as his lips moved with mine in perfect rhythm.

“Room,” I muttered as his hands explored my breasts, pinching me.

“What?” he gasped. He kissed down my jaw to my neck. I moaned as he sucked right where my pulse thumped. My entire body shivered and tightened. God, it was amazing the feeling he evoked from me.

“Room,” I groaned as his hips ground against mine, heightening the already severe tension at the apex of my legs. I circled my hips to meet his.

He pulled back and jerked me upwards. I clasped my hands behind his back as he carried me to the closest room like a fireman. He kicked the door open and dropped us both down on the bed. I laughed until his kissed me, shutting me up real fast. His body hovered over mine.

His hand immediately found the top of my yoga pants, and he pulled them low so he could get inside. His cool hand against my warm skin jolted me while also heating me up in a single moment. I burst into a frenzy, trying to match his frantic kisses and undo his shirt at the same time.

He rolled off of me and sat up, tugging his shirt over his head from behind. I ran my hands from his chest down to the hem of his pants, panting with every inch. I couldn’t see more than his silhouette, but I grabbed him in my hand and gasped.

“Oh God.” His head fell forward onto my shoulder as I stroked him, exploring him with my hand. I pushed him down on the bed and crouched over his body, taking control for the first time in our relationship. The tip of him had a bead of wetness, and taking a leap, I licked it up.

His hands grabbed onto my shoulders and pushed me backwards. “Are you trying to kill me, Lana?” He didn’t wait for me to answer. He kissed me, his tongue navigating around every wall of my mouth as he pulled me on top of him.

His erection was the only thing between us, resting between my bare thighs. My insides burned, and I wanted him to fix the pain of my emptiness. I widened my legs and lifted my hips, but he pulled back.

“Patience, Lana.” He licked from my ear to my collarbone and then bit it, making my body erupt in goose bumps.

“It’s hard to be patient”—I panted as he sucked my nipple—“Since last time we were interrupted.”

“No interruptions tonight.” He made it sound like a promise. But I didn’t believe him. I needed more right this very second. And he wasn’t giving it to me like this. I had to take control. I rolled us so I was on top of him, straddling his waist. I pushed his arms above his head so he couldn’t flip us back.

I raked my fingers down his chest as I bent down so I could see into his eyes. They were shut. I kissed his temple and his eyes fluttered open.

“Hey,” he said in a sexual haze. His voice rasped out, and the butterflies in my stomach exploded.

“Hey.” I smiled as I kissed him while rocking my hips against his erection. I could’ve come in seconds if I wanted to, but I didn’t. I wanted to remember this moment for the rest of my life—no matter how long or short it might be. This moment with Jim was the only thing that mattered.

I reached between us and placed the tip of his head at my center. I was wet already so he slid in seamlessly. When it was fully inside of me, his hands grabbed onto my ass and squeezed so hard I was sure it would leave a bruise. But I didn’t care.

I fell onto his chest, clutch his shoulders as the intrusion lit my body in a slow flame. I rocked slowly against him at first. I had to get used to his length. I thought if I moved any faster I might pass out from pure ecstasy. I lifted up so he nearly exited me as I kissed his chest.

“Jesus. That feels amazing,” he said through his clenched jaw. “But it’s too slow.” He grabbed both my butt cheeks and thrust into me, bringing my body down as he went up. I yelled out.

He covered my mouth with one of his hands while the other guided me up and down on him. I liked when he was in control. But I liked being in control, too. I actually hated giving it up to anyone in my real life before the bombings. Being able to relinquish control kind of liberated me here and now.

I sat up on him and grabbed both of his wrists. I pinned them near his head and began grinding against him, swirling my hips. By holding his hands, I made him go deeper inside of me, and I loved it. I moved faster and faster, rocking harder and harder, and panting louder and louder.

Sweat dripped down around my hairline, but I didn’t care. The contours of his abs made me dizzy with excitement. But what used to be muscle near his ribs had faded. As I trailed my fingertips down his sides, I felt each bone distinctly.

I kissed his neck and his jaw, and then his lips captured me. He moaned my name into my mouth, the vibration purely carnal. My body shook with pleasure.

“Shit. Lana, you better hurry.” His eyes darted open. I glanced down at him and nodded as I felt myself start to build. Just a few more thrusts, and I’d be there. I let go of his hands and leaned back to get a better angle.

He sat up and held my back so our naked, wet chests touched. He spun around so his legs were off the bed and planted on the ground. He lifted me up and down, sucking and biting my shoulder. I shut my eyes as my entire body tensed and released.

“I’m coming,” I whispered in his ear as I let go. He thrust in and out of me. I ground my hips against him to lengthen my orgasm. Tears brimmed at the corners of my eyes as I came over and over, waves of pure bliss crashing over my head and taking me slave.

He lifted me in his arms and pulled out, the loss of him inside me visceral. I groaned and reached for him, but he put me down beside him. He pumped himself as he came all over the floor of the stranger’s bedroom.

I let out a sigh as my body stilled for the first time in what felt like hours. All of my energy expended, I felt like I could pass out at any second. I could barely breathe let alone move. Jim pulled his pants up, tucking himself in. He came back to me and lifted me, arranging me like a doll beside him.

“That was so good,” I said to him in my state of after-orgasm sleepiness.

“It was fucking amazing.”

I struggled to see him through the darkness of the room. But I also struggled to keep my eyes open. Jim chuckled to himself. My back was to him, but I couldn’t move.

His fingers ran up and down my spine. His breath hot against my neck. “Go to sleep, Lana,” he said as he pulled the comforter over my shoulders, covering my naked body.

“Love…”

I woke up completely disoriented. I leapt up at the feeling of a real mattress, not knowing where I was. I looked down at my naked body and covered myself with the blanket fast. What the fuck? Then the sex I had with Jim pushed its way to the front of my mind, and I relaxed.

It was still very dark, although there was a light bluish hint in the sky that told me I slept through the entire night. I had missed my watch with Jim. I had no idea where any of my things were. I didn’t remember bringing a flashlight upstairs. I felt my way around the room as I stood. Hunger pains shot from my abdomen to my chest.

I found the window and pulled the blinds open. We didn’t cardboard the top windows since there was no reason to. Up until last night nobody even slept up here. The light from the moon and bright stars showed me around the room where the discarded clothes were scattered.

My pants hung at the bottom of the bed in a tangled mess. My shoes scattered on the other side. I found my shirt and jacket lying in the hallway. I walked down the stairs on my tiptoes, praying that they didn’t creak. It had to be late.

At the bottom of the stairs I breathed a sigh of relief that nobody had stirred. I peeked into the living room. It was too dark to be able to make out bodies and faces. But I could tell that my sleeping bag remained vacant. The fire died down, the embers too dimmed to hold onto a flame. I stepped over Marcus and Gavin and put two new logs on it.

Since I was already past the sleeping bodies, I didn’t want to chance waking anyone up. I walked towards the back door. When I got there, I peeked through the blinds searching for Jim. I didn’t spot him.

I heard murmurs before I got to the front and my heart faltered. What was going on? I didn’t want to announce myself. I crept past the stairs to the front door and paused, listening. Jim said something to another man—I could tell by his deep-voiced response.

Something was up. I didn’t feel right inside. My stomach burned and my mind spun. I had a sick feeling in my gut that we were about to be blind sighted.

I tip-toed up the stairs to the top bedroom that overlooked the street. I wasn’t sure if he was in the road or not, but I figured I’d have a better vantage point and be able to hear whatever was being said out there.

Luckily, the blinds were already pulled back from when I had to find my clothes. I knelt down by the window. I glanced out from the corner so they wouldn’t notice me eavesdropping.

Jim stood in the middle of the street with a couple eater bodies around him. Facing Jim and myself was John, his brother, with two other men flanking him. Seeing John lit up only by Jim’s lantern and the white shine of the moon made fear bloom like a blood rose. His clothes hung tattered and covered in blood.

It didn’t look like they were fighting. In fact, just as I thought that, John smiled, laughed, and wrapped Jim in a one-armed hug. I quickly turned and sat down, my head in my hands as I tried to play out various scenarios.

How could this be happening? I wasn’t sure what my eyes were seeing. He could be playing me or he could be playing his brother. It didn’t make sense. He had helped us, saved me numerous times. Was this a game to them? Was I just a little lost girl they kidnapped, scared into the arms of my
savior
, and then chased after like a mouse? I shook my head as my body heated, rage coursing through my veins. I didn’t believe it.

I sat up and placed my ear against the window pane. It was hard to hear much, but the lack of electronics buzzing helped. I lugged my body up, pushing against the window. It opened a crack. I left it, not wanting to give myself away by a squeak.

“We found this old bitch down the road. Harold here is into that sort of mommy shit. Ate her dry.” John’s voice left the same impression as the first time I heard him speak: evil. It was grimy and dirty, but deep and fluid, which completely contradicted itself.
