I needed to be out of this police station, but I had to trust what was left of my team to do whatever they needed. As tough as Alyssa was, being prisoner in Cuba damaged that part of her beyond repair. She barely made it through the few days to get Juan back, and she could have escaped from there. She couldn't make it behind the bars of a maximum security prison. Our only option was for me to sit, and let her put in the work to prove her innocence. I loved her enough to buy her that much time.

I stood as well, never taking my eyes away from Sgt Fields. "Then you better take me to my cell, Sgt. Fields."
