Claudia Mauner is a graphic designer and illustrator who grew up in Pennsylvania and Switzerland. She and co-author Elisa Smalley began formulating ideas for a story when they were roommates in Paris, and later while sharing an apartment in Manhattan. All three of Claudia’s dachshunds were inspirational. She currently resides in Pennsylvania with her daughter, Zoe Sophia.
Elisa Smalley grew up feeling equally at home at West Point and in Rio. She currently lives in Chappaqua, New York, with her husband and two boys, William and Matthew. Elisa and Claudia have been fast friends since they attended Vassar College together. They are also the author and illustrator team of
Zoe Sophia’s Scrapbook: An Adventure in Venice.
This is their second book together.
