And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8
Â
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9
Â
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10
Â
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11
Â
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12
Â
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God,
which is
new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and
I will write upon him
my new name.
13
Â
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
14
Â
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15
Â
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16
Â
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17
Â
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18
Â
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and
that
the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19
Â
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20
Â
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21
Â
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22
Â
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
A Song of degrees of David.
1
 L
ORD
, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
2
Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul
is
even as a weaned child.
3
Let Israel hope in the L
ORD
from henceforth and for ever.
23
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
1
The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord G
OD
concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the L
ORD
, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
2
Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.
3
The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation
is
high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
4
 Though thou exalt
thyself
as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the L
ORD
.
5
If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave
some
grapes?
6
 How are
the things
of Esau searched out!
how
are his hidden things sought up!
7
All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee
even
to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee,
and
prevailed against thee;
they that eat
thy bread have laid a wound under thee:
there is
none understanding in him.
8
Shall I not in that day, saith the L
ORD
, even destroy the wise
men
out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
9
 And thy mighty
men,
O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
10
 For
thy
violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
11
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou
wast
as one of them.
12
But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
13
Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid
hands
on their substance in the day of their calamity;
14
Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
15
For the day of the L
ORD
is
near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.
16
For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain,
so
shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.
17
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
18
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be
any
remaining of the house of Esau; for the L
ORD
hath spoken
it.
19
 And
they of
the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and
they of
the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin
shall possess
Gilead.
20
And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel
shall possess
that of the Canaanites,
even
unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which
is
in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
21
And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the L
ORD
's.
1
After this I looked, and, behold, a door
was
opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard
was
as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said,
Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
2
And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and
one
sat on the throne.
3
And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and
there was
a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
4
 And round about the throne
were
four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
5
And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and
there were
seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
6
 And before the throne
there was
a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne,
were
four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7
 And the first beast
was
like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast
was
like a flying eagle.
8
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about
him;
and
they were
full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9
And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10
the four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
A Song of degrees.
1
 L
ORD
, remember David,
and
all his afflictions:
2
How he sware unto the L
ORD
,
and
vowed unto the mighty
God
of Jacob;
3
 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4
I will not give sleep to mine eyes,
or
slumber to mine eyelids,
5
Until I find out a place for the L
ORD
, an habitation for the mighty
God
of Jacob.
6
Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.
7
We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
8
 Arise, O L
ORD
, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.
9
Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
10
For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.
11
 The L
ORD
hath sworn
in
truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12
If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
13
 For the L
ORD
hath chosen Zion; he hath desired
it
for his habitation.
14
 This
is
my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15
I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16
I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17
There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
18
His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
24
Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth
it
not.
25
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the L
ORD
shall be safe.
