“Well, I’ll dry since you’re washing. That’s the way we do it where I’m from.” He got a towel out from the second drawer down and took the frying pan from me and started wiping it down.

Hmm, he had a few redeeming qualities that he was showing so far. One, he put a water bowl out for Zeus, which I had to admit slightly melted my heart, and it was frickin’ huge. Secondly, he’d cooked me breakfast, which he totally didn’t have to do and now he was helping me dry the dishes. Not to mention he hooked up my TV and my stereo.

“So where is it you’re from?”

“Born and bred in Vegas, baby.” He gave me that megawatt smile. I had to admit, he really was sexy—in a bad boy kind of way.

“Well, that’s cool. So all of your family is here then?” I took the bacon pan and started washing it out. There was so much grease it was disgusting. My lips slightly turned down.

“Yes, they are. I have a brother Reeve, who I think I mentioned. He is the oldest, then my brother Justice, then me, my younger brother Sabastien, and my baby sister, Destiny.” His eyes lit up with pride talking about his family.

“Wow, you have a big family. I’m an only child.” I wasn’t going to mention anything else about my family.

“I couldn’t imagine being an only child, seriously?” He looked at me with curiosity.

“Yep.”

I was done with this conversation. I finished washing the bacon pan and handed it to him. I shut off the water and then bent down to the cabinet below the sink and searched for some product to clean the stove off. I grabbed what I needed and went to work on it.

“Well, you’ll eventually meet all of my siblings. My apartment has sorta been a revolving door when it comes to them.” He spoke with pride.

“Cool, are they all like you?” I had to ask and honestly, I couldn’t control my filter. I’m sure it would piss him off, but I couldn’t help myself.

“Funny, ha.” He looked at me and rolled his eyes.

“Sorry. That was in poor taste. I would love to meet them.” I’m sure they had to be decent people. Damien didn’t seem like a bad guy. He was just a total player.

“Thanks. You’ll meet them soon enough. Once you’re finished with wiping down the counter, let’s get a move on.” He reached down on the floor and picked up Zeus, who was by my feet. “I’ll take ol’ bruiser out to do his business while you finish up.” He picked up his leash and then walked out the door.

Wow. Another good quality. He was being nice to Zeus and helping me take care of him. He honestly didn’t have to do that, but before I could protest to let him know I would take care of it, he was out the door.

Damien came back in with Zeus in tow and a plastic baggy that he disposed of in the trash. “Well, that was fast. I guess Zeus needed to go after he ate some bacon after all.”

He looked at me, and then he looked down at my chest then the rest of my body. I could tell he was appraising me. “Stop looking at me like that. I’m your roommate, not your sex buddy.”

He gave me a wicked grin. “Sorry, couldn’t help myself. You have one tight little body.”

I punched him in the arm. “Roommates don’t say things like that.” I rolled my eyes at him and walked away with Zeus following me. I went to my bedroom and shut the door.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on my door. “Come in.”

Damien walked in dressed in a Rolling Stones shirt, his delicious jeans from earlier that hung so perfectly off his hips and a pair of black Chuck Taylors. Like I’ve said, he isn’t my usual type but he was oozing raw sex appeal. Those damn tats were peeking out of his shirt, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him.

“I see how you’re looking at me.” I rolled my eyes at him. “So are we going to go do your shopping?”

“Sure, I guess now is as good of a time as any.” I grabbed my purse off the dresser and followed him out of my room.

“I’ll drive since I know where we’re going.” He gave me a wink.

“No, I can drive. First of all, I need to learn the roads and secondly, I have a lot of room for shit.” I grabbed my keys out of my purse.

“Fine, but I’m driving” He took the keys out of my hand before I could even respond.

I pulled my bottom lip between my teeth. He wasn’t on my insurance. What if we got into an accident? Surely, he has insurance, I hope. “I’m really not sure that’s a good idea, what if you wreck it?”

“Chill, Sweets. I got this under control. I’m the man here, and I should be driving.”

“Oh, so you are going to go all alpha on me” We walked out of the apartment as he shut and locked the door, and we made our way down the steps and to my SUV. I reluctantly went to the passenger side.

“I’m all alpha male, babe.” He unlocked the doors and folded his body in behind the steering wheel but not before pushing the seat way back. “Damn, woman, you are short. This seat was almost up to the steering wheel.”

“I can’t help it if I’m only five foot, Damien. This is the way God made me.” Geez. Now he was going to make fun of me.

He looked over to me with a serious expression glazed across his face. “Babe, don’t take offense. I like the way God made you.” Oh, hell to the no. Now he was hitting on me.

Why the hell was he calling me ‘babe’ now? “Keep it in the pants.”

I rolled my eyes and looked out the window paying attention to where we were going. I needed to figure out how to navigate to get where I was going. I knew the strip pretty well from coming out here for my twenty-first birthday with Bee and some other girlfriends, but beyond that, I was clueless.

So freaking clueless.

Damien

W
e walked into Target and headed to the back to find her some shit to put on her bed. She immediately went to the comforters and started perusing through them.

“What do think, Damien? I really like this one?”

It was a white comforter that had aqua and black flowers on the bottom of it.

“Or maybe I could go with this one?” She pulled out a set that was pink and had chocolate brown and white stripes.

“I actually like the first one you showed me. The pink is too girly for my taste.”

“Well, I like to be girly. I’m a female after all, in case you haven’t noticed.” Was she fucking kidding me?

“Oh, I noticed. You’re all female. It certainly hasn’t escaped my eyes.” She slapped me on the chest.

“Could you try for a minute not to be a pig?” She sure has hell liked to call me a pig all of the time, but the ladies loved the way I was.

“I’m not being a pig. I’m just stating the facts. Get the first one, Sydney.” I wasn’t a shopper so my time was being tested.

“All right, fine. It is cute and I think it will go well in my room. Let’s look at sheets.” She walked across the aisle and started looking for the perfect set. “Oh, these are adorable.” She picked up a set that was white with aqua and black polka dots. “I think these will be perfect.”

“Yeah, they’ll work. What else do you need?” I wanted to get this show on the fucking road. I looked at my watch it was nearing 11 am.

She gave me a puzzled look. “Am I keeping you, Damien?”

“No, no worries. I have to be at work in a couple of hours. That’s all.” And she seriously needed to get this little shopping extravaganza under way. If we were actually going to hit the grocery store, then we needed to get a move on.

“Okay, just checking. I want to get another pillow and some curtains.” She walked out of the aisle and headed toward the pillows with me on her heels like I was Zeus, her damn dog.

I had never been one to follow a girl around. This shit was for the birds. Normally, chicks followed me around begging me to fuck them. Sydney was a completely different animal for sure.

She added two king sized down pillows to the cart and headed over to the curtains. Just her fucking luck they had ones that matched her damn girly sheets, but instead, she picked up the black ones.

Thank fuck.

I could handle living with this little diva, but I couldn’t handle her going all girly on me—not that I was even allowed in her room. So it was a mystery to me as to why I even cared. She bent over to grab a throw pillow, and I about lost it. My dick twitched in my pants as all of the blood rushed down my body. I rubbed my hand on the back of my neck.

Holy fucking shit this girl was fucking hot.

Needing to keep my dick under control, I walked over and grabbed a king sized down pillow for myself.

“You need pillows, too?” She asked me curiously.

“Yeah, actually, I do. I got come all over it, and I can’t get the shit out.” Oh, this comment was going to set her off for sure, but I could care fucking less. I was a dude after all, and I would tell it like it was.

“You’re so disgusting, Damien. Seriously, could you have spared me the damn details? I mean, seriously!” She rolled her eyes at me and then started pushing the cart toward the toiletries.

She went about her business loading the cart with things she needed and I went to grab a few things I needed. We met back up at the end of the aisle.

“It’s simple, I just like pussy. Plain and fucking simple. I’m like any other guy. However, maybe the ones you are used to don’t tell you what they are really thinking.”

“Uh, really!” She rolled the cart passed me and headed for the registers.

I caught up behind her. “Don’t think for one minute that I wouldn’t like to taste that luscious pussy of yours. You know you could give it up to me as a friendly roommate gesture.”

She pushed her hand in my chest. “Seriously? Enough, Damien. You are causing my ears to burn. I don’t want to hear any more of this kind of talk. I’m your roommate, for the love of God, not your plaything.”

Maybe I was doing some reconsidering and going back from my ways. She was fucking smoking with a hot little bod and a fiery personality. She was one fine diva. One day, I would have her in my bed, and she would be my plaything. I knew it would only be a matter of time before she couldn’t resist this hot tattooed bod.
Dude, chill the hell out. What are you thinking?

Perhaps, I should try a different approach with her and chill the fuck out with the sexual comments. I won’t lie, though. My dick kept twitching behind my boxers. Her little fiery attitude drove me wild.

“So, Syd, you never told me what you do?”

“It’s Sydney, not Sweets, Babe, or Syd, just Sydney.” She deadpanned.

“Okay. So, Sweets, tell me what you do?” She rolled her eyes at me. I could tell I was seriously testing her patients with me, but I was having a hell of a good time getting her worked up.

“Well for your information, Dame, I’m a Cosmetologist. I’m going to be working at Bangs Salon and Spa.” Well, she could seriously dish it with the Dame comment.

“So does this mean free haircuts along with rubbing me down with oil and giving me a massage?” I couldn’t wait to see how she responded to this shit. I knew I was only poking the bear. And damn, if she wasn’t a grizzly.

“Yes, I’ll cut your hair but I’ll be damned if I’m going to give you a massage. Hell would have to freeze over for that to happen.”

I nudged her shoulder with my arm. “Chill, babe, I’m just playing around with you.”

“Well, you don’t act like it. You seriously know how to push all of the wrong buttons.” Wow, I can’t believe she actually admitted that I pushed buttons. This was huge.

Fucking huge.

We finally pulled up to the register and started unloading our shit. She reached over for a separator to put between her stuff and mine, and I shook my head at her when she glanced back in my direction.

“That won’t be necessary. I’m paying for all of this.” I reached in my back pocket and grabbed my wallet.

She placed her hand on her hips and stood up on her tiptoes. “You are absolutely not paying for my stuff. I pay my own way. Besides, I don’t want you to think that just because you paid for something for me that I possibly owe you anything in return.”

She was fucking cute as hell on her tiptoes. Small and mighty and all raw woman. She was a fucking beauty when she was mad or got sassy about something. She was pretty damn mesmerizing.

“Nope, not going to work for me. You didn’t expect to have a king sized bed to dress so this is on me. I insist.” I walked up to the cash register and gave the cashier my debit card. “Please don’t accept her payment, I’ve got this covered.”

This time, Sydney put both hands on her hips. “Seriously, Damien, I can pay my own way. This is so not necessary.”

I gently placed my hand over her lips. And let me tell you, those plump lips were to die for. I could easily cover them with my own or have her wrap them around my cock. They felt so fucking good on my hand. Soft, wet, and sensual. “Babe, I got it. Trust me. We’re fucking even.”

“I guess if you say so.” A small smile spread across her lips.

“Yes, I say so. Now let’s get the hell out of here and over to Whole Foods.” I picked up all of the bags and started walking toward the exit. “I can’t be late for work today. I actually have to open the shop, after all.”

“What kind of shop is that?” She looked at me with curiosity.

“I’m a tattoo artist by day and in a band by night, babe.” I’d be damned if I wasn’t living the fucking dream. I loved my life. Jobs I loved to do and the women came easy.

“Oh, cool. Where do you work?”

“I work off the strip. I own my own shop. It’s called Blue Moon Ink.” I loved talking about my shop. It was my pride and joy.

“Does this mean I get free tattoos?” She had a shy smile spread across those fucking luscious lips.

“Hell, yeah, I will ink you.” We got in the SUV and I fired her up. I headed across the parking lot to Whole Foods.

“I’ve always wanted another tattoo. Maybe I’ll come by and see you later on today so you can ink me.”

“Where is your tattoo?” I didn’t recall seeing any on her.

“Well, it’s private and not on display for everyone to see. If I told you, I might have to kill you.”

Hmm, I wondered how private it could be. I knew I would find out eventually. This little diva was going to eventually be under me, over me, and beside me. It was only a matter of time.
