About the Author

David Rotenberg has directed in theatres throughout the United States and Canada as well as theatres in Cape Town and Shanghai. Since returning to Canada in 1987, he also works as a master acting teacher at the National Theatre School of Canada, Equity Showcase Theatre in Toronto, and at York University. The lessons that Geoffrey Hyland teaches in the novel are part of Mr. Rotenberg’s unique approach to acting, which is used by a great many successful actors in Canada.

He has two new novels awaiting publication and has published another Zhong Fong mystery,
The Lake Ching
Murders
.

As a side note to this novel, his production of
Rita Joe
in Shanghai was received with reserved politeness; however, his
Twelfth Night
was hailed by critics and audiences as a masterpiece.

He lives in Toronto with his wife, Susan Santiago, and their two children, Joey and Beth.
