A LETTER FROM THE AUTHOR
Dear Reader,
The Shepherd’s Voice
was born out of the desire to remind believers that God’s forgiveness isn’t just for the moment a person is born again. Christ died for all sins, including those that happen after we come to know Him as Savior and Lord.
In my own Christian walk, I’ve fallen flat on my face whenever I’ve chosen to pursue my own will over the Father’s. Afterward, I’ve discovered how hard it is to forgive myself for my willfulness. I have no problem accepting God’s forgiveness after I’ve confessed my sin, but forgiving myself is something else entirely. Then the Holy Spirit revealed to me that I am actually giving victory to the enemy when I cling to the guilt. I don’t want to do that.
God has a plan for each and every one of His children, and He is speaking to each of us all the time. When we listen to Him, He keeps us from chasing after our own will. When we obey, He keeps us from stumbling. If I had to name one desire I have for my novels, it would be that they serve as an encouragement for readers to listen and hear the Shepherd’s voice.
In His grip,

Capturing the essence of the early 1930s, [Hatcher] crafts an endearing story about a young shepherdess who rescues a wayward soul…. Hatcher has a real warmth in her writing style and the relationships between the characters comes across as natural and honest, rather than contrived and superficial.
