Before I could finish my words, she fisted my length and took one long lick up the shaft, causing a sensation of pleasure to flutter through me at the contact, before she let go completely, my hardness falling from her fingers like lead.
Her hands and eyes then roamed up the length of my legs—running her soft fingers through the thin hair peppering my skin—teasing me. My thighs stiffened beneath her touch as she inched closer to my dick again, lightly grabbing hold. She immediately took control, consuming me completely. My shaft, hard as a rock, glided effortlessly between her lips.
She didn’t waste any time and sucked my entire dick into her mouth in one quick move that nearly made me convulse on the spot.
An audible groan filled the room, my voice betraying me as I tried to form any sort of coherent words to tell her how amazing she was.
Grasping her beautiful, white hair out of the way, I watched as I disappeared between her luscious lips, the black lipstick almost completely gone. Christ, her mouth was heaven. The moans that escaped my chest told her exactly how she was making me feel, and it earned me a cute little smile while I was still inside her mouth.
Taking hold of me, she continued to lick from the base to the head, and I nearly lost myself when she rolled the crown around with her tongue. The fact she didn’t hesitate to devour every inch of me made my muscles tense beneath her vigorous assault.
Another growl rumbled through my chest as her tongue shot out and licked the soft crease around my head. My reaction must’ve increased her confidence, because she sucked me firmly into her mouth again, taking me entirely.
My thighs tightened, causing a shudder to work through my body and over my stomach. She stared at me through her mask, probably gauging my reactions. There was a fire in her eyes I could only explain as pure excitement and passion. Small smiles while I filled her mouth were so sexy, causing me to pulse with new waves of pleasure coursing through my veins.
Her warm mouth continued to taste me, devouring my essence and giving her full power over me. She took control, dominating every part of me, as my muscles tensed and flexed in response to her lavish attention. The smooth texture of her tongue was a perfect match as my head glided between her lips in slow, sensual motions.
“God, that feels so damn good,” I groaned as I fisted her hair and plunged a bit deeper—gentle, yet demanding all in the same thrust of my hips—and she let me. Normally women would back away if I dared to take a bit of control over their mouth.
Surprisingly, she chose that moment to take me even deeper, bracing herself on the bed and continuing to devour me in long, sensual strokes. Tangling my fingers into her hair a bit tighter when her sucking became more urgent and fast, I watched her ass disappear and reappear from view as her head bobbed up and down.
Pulsing in her mouth, I began to worry I’d come way too soon—her bold maneuvers driving me fucking wild.
“I don’t want to come yet,” I rasped, desperation coating my words.
Looking up at me, her eyes filled with determination through that damn cat mask, she smiled around my shaft, wordlessly accepting my defeat. At an unhurried pace, she let her lips slide leisurely over my cock before it glided easily out of her mouth.
As if on the prowl again, she crawled back up my body, her eyes sparkling with determination and her limbs shaking marginally. Hovering over me, she touched her lips gently to mine, devouring me with the most passionate kiss. It was enough to make my heart skip a few beats and all the air to completely leave my lungs.
She grabbed at my face with her fingers, her touch colliding with my Phantom mask, and I wished that she’d just remove it already. Why I thought it was a smart idea to glue it to my face was beyond me.
Never removing her stare from mine, she reached between us and positioned me at her entrance. With exquisite measure, she eased her way down on me.
Maci: Man Behind the Mask
I
felt like I was on cloud nine—the Phantom filling me to the max. He was so attentive, so sexy, that I knew right then I’d end up leaving this room with one of two things—either a boyfriend or a broken heart. My head was swimming with the possibilities as I so easily rode him, looking into his deep, blue eyes the entire time.
I’d gladly ride him all night long if it meant I could stare at that sexy smirk and beautiful sea of blue eyes that gazed back at me—filled with lust and possibilities.
With his hands grasping at my hips, he pulled me down onto his length over and over again, causing my erratic breathing to sound disjointed.
He absorbed my moans as he engulfed my mouth with his own. He still tasted divine, even with the lingering sweat and sex permeating my senses as we thrashed against each other. I pulled away marginally, gasping as I sucked in a ragged breath against his lips. Knowing he was driving me wild, he picked up his pace, slamming into me, causing my tits to bounce on his chest. The friction against my nipples was bound to push me over the edge if he could just keep up his wicked pace.
“Ahh!” I exclaimed as I felt the head of his dick hit just the right spot. Being on top certainly had its perks, and controlling the position was definitely one of them.
Before I knew what was happening, he flipped us over so he was on top without ever pulling from my body.
Grabbing onto his biceps and sinking my nails into his flesh, I watched as his muscles tensed and flexed. Sitting up on his knees, he grabbed both my wrists and restrained my hands above my head, my hair tickling my arms. Still pinning me down, he dipped his head and sunk his teeth into my jaw, lightly nibbling at my overly sensitive skin.
The sensation of his teeth and his dominance had me moaning louder than usual. I was internally hoping he didn’t have any downstairs neighbors, because they’d surely start complaining of the obviously sexual sounds escaping the confines of his room.
Letting go of my arms, he coaxed my legs up above his shoulders and grabbed my hips, forcefully thrusting into me. From this angle, he hit my g-spot—that delicious spot that made me scream and writhe with desire. I kept my hands above my head and grabbed hold of the sheets, allowing him to slam into me, which caused my breasts to bounce and wiggle with each thrust.
Just as my insides began to quicken and I thought another orgasm would be possible for me, Phantom began to tremble, his thrusts becoming more harsh and erratic. The sound and feel of him so close sent all new thrills through me with each pump of his hips.
Before I could free my mind and allow my body to catch up, he grunted, stilling inside me as he closed his eyes tight. Several huffs left his lips and his face turned red with the last of his release.
With his body collapsing on top of mine, I struggled to catch my breath, yet wouldn’t want it any other way. His weight made me feel oddly safe and adored. The tickle of his breath against my chest, his lungs expanding and contracting with each bellowing huff, was comforting. I felt so sated, so free.
The side of his face that wasn’t pressed against my slick skin still had a mask—hiding him from me completely as I attempted to look at him. All I could see were his lips, slightly parted and gasping for air. I wanted to gauge his reaction, see if it gave me some sort of idea of what to do next.
Would he still want to know me? Or was this little tryst all he cared to know about me?
I winced as he pulled out, but I quickly recovered when I saw the satisfied smile on his partially hidden face. Offering me his hand, he led me to the bathroom, showing me where the towels were.
There we stood, surrounded by marble and tile, an awkward feeling enveloping us. I knew he could feel it too, but that didn’t stop him from reaching for me, pulling me to his body for another passionate kiss.
He held me there for what seemed like ages. I felt warm, content—free to just stand there with him. Regardless of the fact I didn’t know his name, I felt like I knew him, the intimate feelings between us stronger than I’d ever anticipated.
With my back to the mirror, Phantom placed his hands on the top of my ass and said, “I simply adore that Batman tattoo you have there. So sexy.”
Turning only my head, I looked at our reflection in the mirror, his hands surrounding the Batman emblem I had adorning the small of my back. It was the only ink I had, and I loved it.
“Thanks. Got it as a birthday present for myself a few years back,” I explained, my face nuzzling into the crook of his neck as he held me.
“Guess I’m gonna have to fuck you from behind next time just so I can enjoy it,” he whispered, his words coming out like a promise, causing hope to swell inside me with the fact there might be a
next time
. Pulling away, he added, “Go ahead and take your time, use the shower if you’d like.” A kiss to the top of my head had me reeling with a new sensation I couldn’t quite describe. It was like adoration, adrenaline, and anxiousness all wrapped into one claustrophobic little package.
I waited, suddenly feeling nervous, as he quickly cleaned himself up with a washcloth and gave me a soft kiss on my cheek before leaving me alone in the rather large bathroom. Looking around, I wasn’t sure what to do.
Was I going to stay the night? Should I shower so I wasn’t a sweaty mess in his sheets?
The lack of communication and knowledge of each other was suddenly getting to me, an anxious feeling enveloping my insides.
Deciding I needed to get the slick sheen of sweat off my body, I went ahead and removed my mask to take a shower. Examining myself in the mirror, I noticed the red indentations around my eyes from the leather pressing into my skin, and was thankful I decided not to remove it during sex. I would’ve looked like a deranged raccoon.
Showering made me feel much better. Foregoing the need to wash my hair, I just rinsed my body instead. The red marks on my face were nearly gone—thank cripes. So, I wrapped the towel around me, carried the mask by its elastic, and made my way out into his bedroom.
The Phantom, still masked, was lying on his bed, his face pushed into the pillow at an almost comically awkward position. A Tetris lamp above his bed was the only light in the room, casting a muted glow across his naked body.
I tiptoed across the room to the other side of the bed, intent on just sliding in and staying the night. New Years meant new resolutions—and I was resolute on getting to know the man behind the mask.
Just before I dropped the towel, something on his nightstand caught my eye. There, next to his Lament Configuration from
Hellraiser
, was the latest book from M.L. Thomas—my book—a two of hearts acting as a makeshift bookmark sticking out of the top.
Panic consumed me. Only a select few knew who I was, knew I was a well-known Sci-Fi author. If he were a fan, keeping it from him would deem impossible if we ever became an item.
It may have been a silly move, but I knew I had to get out. There was no way I could risk years of anonymity. M.L. Thomas was not Maci Layne, and those who knew otherwise could be counted on one hand.
With swift, quiet movements, I gathered my things, getting dressed as quickly as possible, and tiptoed my way out of the door, boots in hand so they wouldn’t make any sound. It wasn’t hard to sneak past Phantom’s friend, who was still facedown on the couch.
As the elevator doors closed, revealing my sulking reflection, my heart cracked a little at the fact I would never know the amazing identity of the Phantom of the Opera.

Game Changer
Maci strives for one thing in life—anonymity. With her writing career in full bloom, all she wants is to work in peace while concealing her true identity from the public. Though readers love the science fiction worlds she creates, Maci knows that gender stereotypes could damage her career if she is exposed as a woman.
Liam is the envy of all gamers as the lead developer for nZone Studios. Over time, he builds walls around himself, keeping people at arm’s length who only gravitate to him for his material possessions rather than who he is as a person.
With thick barriers around their hearts and their past looming in the shadows, Liam and Maci challenge each other by slowly peeling away their protective layers and seeing each other for who they really are. It doesn’t take long after their chance meeting at a coffee shop for them to become one another’s game changer.
Note: This contemporary romance novel is the first book in the Playing Games series and contains adult situations meant for ages 18+. The prequel to this novel, The Wager, is an optional novella available at all major retailers and only meant to give a little extra back-story about the characters.
