She was his. She was completely and without a doubt his, forever. “Always,” she whispered before falling into a light sleep, the weight of his body more of a comfort than hurt.
God, a woman could get used to this, feeling so complete, so filled with love and her men.
Ah yes, it was very good to be her.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

“What in the hell do you mean?” the slimy bastard that was also known as Katherine’s brother demanded of the attorney that stood before him. “You have to be wrong. Wilder’s will was very clear. I was included in everything.” He had to fight the base urge that he had to wrap his hands around the attorney’s neck and squeeze the life out of him.
Son of a bitch!
How the fuck did the bitch get Wilder’s will overturned?

“You were until you abused your father’s goodwill and kindness by nearly draining the house accounts to pay off your gambling debts and monies owed to the loan sharks,” the attorney told him crisply. “You have been cut off as you were never once permitted to use the house accounts for anything more than necessary goods and services on the house. I should also mention that you are being brought up on charges of attempted murder, or rather you will be shortly.” The man shot the little prick a smug smile. “You’ve been disinherited and no judge, jury, or court on the planet will disregard the mammoth amount of evidence our offices have been given clearly describing your actions, accountings, and crimes. I would suggest you hire an attorney and, failing that, pray that whoever the court assigns you knows their head from their ass. Good day to you, sir,” he said, signaling security to ensure the little shit left. Of his own free will or not didn’t really matter to him.

Dwayne Craft watched the attorney leaving and waited until he had the door closed to punch the wall. Anger rolled through him and for a moment the scales of his heritage raced along his skin. “That fucking cunt.” He growled and turned on his heels. It was time for the little bitch to get her comeuppance. Time to show the little whore just who the fuck he was. He was well and truly fucking tired of being the nice guy and ready to show her just why you don’t fuck with a snake. Ah yes, when he got that little bitch he was going to show her why her father really died. Not from the cancer that the old bastard was beating, but from the venom that he had injected into the IV line direct from his fangs. Now it was time for him to make his move and that meant heading to the back-fucking-woods of Nowheresville where the little bitch settled down.

He laughed as he thought about it. The little whore took herself off into a place that was a den of a drug trade. One that he and his partners had set up. He wondered just how she would view the idyllic little town after he informed her of this. Oh yes, it was going to be fucking glorious to instruct the little bitch.

Dialing the number he’d been given, the attorney waited. “Yes, I just wanted to let you know the meeting with Mr. Craft didn’t go well. He seems to be quite upset and annoyed by the fact his sister cut him off. I would say it’s fair to assume that he will be more determined than ever to cause her harm.” Waiting, he listened for a moment. “Yes, I would say he’s got something not very nice planned. Understood, thank you.” He hung up and slipped into the waiting car.

It was all set. He had his plan in place and he was finally, finally going to get what he needed. There was nothing in her will about the monies, so it would all come back to him as soon as she was dead, and he knew it. She wouldn’t be there to combat him in his contest of his removal from the will. Oh yes, life was delicious sometimes.

Looking to the men that had gathered, he said, “You all understand that we have to first get rid of the fuckers that she’s shacked up with, and then one of you will go in, in snake form, and bite her. Nothing like a rattlesnake bite to put a bitch down,” he stated gleefully. “And when she’s gone”—he rubbed his hands together—“then I’m going to fucking rule the goddamn world.” He looked to his minions. “So go. You all have your orders,” he hissed. “So go.”

Walking through the lower level of the house slowly, Trey felt his wolf rubbing under his skin the wrong way. Meeting up with Mac, who was doing the same thing, he shot him a look. Something was wrong and it was heading their way.

“I’ve alerted the Guard and her other watchers,” Mac murmured softly. “I also sent a text to Bulldog, letting him know something is up,” he said, pacing to a window to stare out.

“Good,” Trey muttered, knowing that Sully was aware of it as well since Mac would have let his brother in on it all. “We need to prepare the house for whatever is coming. No matter what, we stick close to her.”

Katherine came out with a frown. “Boys,” she called into the room and walked up to Trey, wrapping her arms around him. “There is an issue.” Fear all but rolled off of her. “There is a fire that’s started,” she whispered. “On the west wooded lot.” She knew she sounded calm but she was anything but. “It’s small right now but I happened to see the lick of flame from the upstairs window.”

Tapping his comms, Trey looked out. “Fire in the west lot,” he said and took her hand in his. “They are already aware of it, love. There’s a team moving in to put it out. It’s a tactic to draw us away from the house, away from you.” Leaning in, he kissed her lightly. “Go back upstairs with Sully. Mac and I are going to seal the house down here and then we’ll be right up to sit with you.”

“He’s my stepbrother. What makes him think that he can’t come and talk to me?” she asked with a frown. “I mean, it’s not like I’m horrid or something terrible. He is.” She sighed and then, “All right. I’m heading up.” She looked to her men. “You will be careful, right?” she asked softly. “Take precaution because I’ve already had to give Sullivan all kinds of heck because of getting hurt. I would hate to have to give it to you two as well.”

“We’ll be safe,” Mac promised and waited until she was out of earshot.

“He needs her to have an accident so all the money reverts to the only living heir. What he doesn’t know is that she’s put in contingencies. I guess the lawyer didn’t bother telling him that part,” Trey muttered.

“He may not have known you realize,” Mac said, moving in sync with him as they began to check the windows and doors, ensuring that if someone came in they’d get one hell of a surprise. “We threw that in last minute and the file might not have been updated to the lawyer,” he pointed out. Getting a grudging nod, he grinned. “Come on, bro. You and I both know we’re all dying to get our hands on this ass. He’s got a beating coming from the lot of us so let’s hope the others don’t pound him too badly.”

“Sounds like a plan to me!” Trey said as he walked alongside his bond-mate and brother-in-arms. “Yeah, we are the ones who get to beat the shit out of this little bastard,” he said with a growl. “He is after all only fucking human so he stands not a fucking chance in hell against the two of us.”

“Should we tell Sully we think he should sit this one out?” Mac asked and chuckled at the look he got. “My thoughts, too.” No way were they breaking that news. They’d just ensure that Sully stuck the closest to their mate. Not very subtle but it would work. Stopping in the front foyer, he looked around and let out a breath. “What now?” he asked, feeling antsy. He hated the wait. He much preferred charging in, kicking ass, and worrying about the details after the fact.

“Now we go and we find the little fucker that’s waiting somewhere to try to harm our mate. Now we go and hunt a fucking man down,” Trey stated simply. “Tell Sully to stay close to Katherine. Her guards will guard the house. The twins are in place upstairs as well so let’s go and see what we can do about hunting this little bastard.” He was ready to go, ready to let his wolf hunt the human that had hurt his mate.

Looking up at the ceiling, Mac frowned slightly as he spoke with his brother and then grinned at the reply he got back. “He’s not even a little amused at what we’re doing.” He chuckled softly. Shaking his head, he moved to the room they’d taken over for their own. Going to the vault, he unlocked it and began to pull out weapons, mostly blades since they wanted to keep it as quiet as possible for their mate. Digging out their body armor, he tossed Trey’s to him as he began to pull on his own.

“Good idea,” he murmured. “This way if the fuck has bullets he won’t get to us. I would seriously not want to be on the receiving end of…Then again.” Trey grinned. “Sully was one smug bastard when they finally surfaced after three days, and our poor Kat couldn’t walk straight at all after that.” It was fucking awesome. “It would be damn good.”

“Dude, we come back the conquering heroes, I’m pretty sure she’ll let us fuck her blind and sideways.” He chuckled, strapping on a series of blades. Flexing his leg to ensure he still had full movement, he looked to Trey. “But if you feel the need to be shot, I’ll wing you if you want.” He grinned evilly as he offered it.

“Fuck you,” Trey said with a bite to his tone. “However, you are right. We return and have her brother in jail just as he should be and we will be able to do just that.” He rubbed his hands together. “Hell to the fuck yeah.” He looked to Mac and then, “Fuck, you do know that Sully will keep her occupied by fucking her blind right now, right?”

“Nope, I told him he has to guard her and that there are others in the house that should she make even the smallest sound will bust the door down. He’s forcing himself to behave and playing some sort of name-the-song game with her,” Mac said. “I also told him that he’d had her for three days of nearly nonstop sex and to give her a rest, otherwise he might break her and that would just piss us off.”

“Oh, I bet that Kat is really appreciating the hell out of that.” Their little kitten loved sex. She seemed to be just as insatiable as they were. “Going to be good to come home to her.” Just as it had before. God, having a bond-mate was the best thing ever in the world.

“She should be all revved up for a healthy and lusty loving.” Mac grinned at him. “She’ll be more than ready to have us all just taking her however we want.” The fact they would all be ready for her, too, was a plus. A battle always seemed to get their sexual motors running hot and fast.

“Then let’s get her brother locked the fuck up,” Trey murmured and adjusted his aching cock before putting on the riot gear that they had to protect their bodies. “Goddamn, let’s hurry so that we can get our asses back here and fuck our mate.” He grinned and added, “I want to fuck her ass this time.” He knew it was risky still because of the way that his cock knotted, but she had become used to anal sex in the last weeks with them and now he wanted to try.

Shooting him a stunned look, Mac whistled out softly. “Damn, bro,” he said, slipping into his gun harness and attaching it to the vest. “As long as one of us isn’t in her at the same time it should be all right. You’ll have room to swell, but we’d better make sure the Guard are way, way back from the house when she blows over that one.” Their bond-mate was a serious screamer.

That had Trey grinning. “She is a screamer. Damn, I love that about her.” They needed to soundproof their home because now that her people and her Guard were filtering in, well, it would be best if because he would hate to cut down one of her people for walking in on them.

“We really need to convince her to build a new place,” Mac said, double-checking everything and triple-checking. “I know she wants to wait until she’s got a good group of folks here but really, it’s not going to work with humans running around. They’ll all assume we’re murdering her, and gods help us if they are those prigs that believe in that one-woman-to-one-male crap.”

“No fucking kidding,” Trey grumbled. “Maybe some of her people will take to running the place. I really like that so many of them have already taken on positions inside of the place so that when she does open they will be right here in the thick of things. I’m thankful that Gaia uploaded into their minds how important it is to remain hidden from humans and just what they will be dealing with. Seems the Goddess definitely had a plan when it came to our mate, huh?”

“So it would seem.” Mac grinned. Turning to Trey, he gave him the once-over automatically and then bumped fists. “Let’s go find this bastard and teach him the meaning of pain and anguish.” Heading for the front door, he made sure all weapons were ready for use, habit making him do it without thought.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Moving slowly from his position in the shadows, Dwayne moved through the house silently. If he could smile at this moment in time, he would. Ah yes, life was very, very fucking good. While he might have only gotten two of her protectors out of the way, the other was busy trying to convince himself to remain inside instead of going out to fight. He moved in with the shadows and then into the walls so that he could move even closer to where he needed to be.

He didn’t even hiss when he made the room he needed to be in. He was so much smarter than a fucking Bear and knew it fully. The dumb motherfuckers didn’t even realize that he was a goddamn snake. Dumb cunts. Coiling into place, he waited until he could see her. Then he would strike.

Katherine sat on the bed, her feet up and arms around her knees. She was feeling more than a little upset at the moment. She hated her men being out and fighting, but it was something she would have to get used to, sadly. She looked up when Sullivan came back in and smiled. “Hey,” she murmured.

Smiling at her, he moved to her, every sense aware and flared at the imminent danger. “Hey to you,” he teased. Gripping the gun out of sight of where he thought the danger was, he sat on the end of the bed. “So, did you come up with something to stump me?” he asked, putting his legs up and leaning back on a hand to casually look around the room as he rolled his neck out, or appeared to. “Especially since it looks like the boys decided to leave me behind.”

“No. Gosh blessed it. I tried but I just can’t come up with one,” she muttered. Reaching out, she touched her hand to his and smiled. “I still missed you.” She missed her men when they weren’t around, a great deal. “Are you all right?” she asked with a frown, coming up at a blank wall when she touched him.
