Much of this book was written at my desk across from my assistant, Deborah Surdi. She was a terrific audience, laughing, crying, looking up facts from time to time. I can't imagine having done this without her.

And how can I ever give enough thanks to Tom Santopietro. In the beginning I just handed him a bunch of scribblings and he organized it all into a book.
