“Baby just listen, hear me out.” He pleaded.

I smacked him and pushed him away from me. He grabbed me again and tried to apologize. “I FUCKING HATE YOU.” I cried. “2 babies Prince, I lost because of the constant beating I endure for no reason. If I wasn’t through with you then, I am now. I don’t want to see your face.” I slapped him “Or hear your voice,” I said pushing him back. “Forget I even exist,” I said walking back to the back with Mya behind me.

CHAPTER 11

JUSTICE

It has been 2 whole weeks since I last saw Jazmyn and she has been on my mind something crazy lately. I don’t know what it is about lil mama but she got my head gone. I tried hitting her up but she hasn’t picked up once. I even texted her a couple of times letting her know I was just thinking about her and for her to call me but even that was a no go. Even though I’m feeling Jaz, I’m not about to chase her. I got too many bitches for that.

Ever since a nigga came back, these thirsty ass thots saw a meal ticket. They’ve been blowing my phone up left and right trying to get a nigga to change their life. They better keep looking because I’m not that nigga. I only need a hoe for one thing and that’s a quick nut. I haven’t seen or heard from Tammi since I got out and I can’t say I want to. My mother couldn’t wait to tell me what happened when she let Tammi take them for a couple of hours.

I was mad as fuck with Tam. Not only did she leave my sons at a park but she had a nerve to make a joke out of it like that shit was funny. I don’t give a fuck if it was over a couple of years ago, she better try and avoid me as long as she can because I’m fucking her up on sight when I see her.

I was sitting in my car thinking about how I was going to approach this shit with Prince. He must have thought everything was cool because I haven’t approach him about it yet. The only reason why I haven’t got at him about stripping my work is because I was trying to spend as much time with Jordan and Javier before I went back to grinding and what he did to Jazmyn added fuel to my fire. I wanted to knock his top off but I didn’t think that was my place and I didn’t want to make myself look like a fool for trying to help a woman that wasn’t officially mines. I know how women can get. One minute they are begging you to help and the next they are ready to curse you out for helping the nigga they asked for help from.

I know with me trying to get back on top it was going to take a lot of my time, so for the past couple of weeks all my time went to Jordan and Javier but now I’m ready to get down to business. I was about to let Charlotte know that the king was back on his throne and I won’t going anywhere any time soon. It was time for me to reclaim what was rightfully mines; starting with that hoe nigga Diesel. I’m pretty sure he knows by now what the deal is and trying to secure his weak ass operation but that shit’s dead. I had already put my soldiers on scoping him out. I know about the three traps he got over on Birchwood and the stash house in the Griff. He wants to be me so bad, his dumb ass didn’t realize he used to work for me and I know him. I know every move he was going to make before he even put word out to do it.

I wasn’t trying to body that nigga yet. I want him to watch everything he tried to take from me, crumble before his eyes.

He claims he’s a boss. Well, ima show him how a real boss supposed to do it. Not the hoe way but like a real nigga should. When I’m finished with him, he gone wish he never crossed a nigga like me and beg me to kill him. What didn’t make any sense to me was, Diesel knows me and he knew how I got down. He must have thought I wasn’t going to see the light of day again for him to pull a stunt like that.

Knock knock knock

“Bruh, how long you gone keep us waiting nigga? It’s hotter than a bitch pussy in there. You out here chilling, while we are burning the fuck up.”

“I was just about to come in until you brought your ass out here bitching.” I laughed getting out of the car. “Yall niggas crazy for…” I stopped when I saw a certain text message. The name that popped up had a nigga smiling harder than kid on Christmas.

Jaz: Hey Justice, I’m sorry about not returning your calls. I’ve been real busy.

I wanted to stall and keep her waiting like she did me but I didn’t want to miss out on a chance to make her mines.

Me: About time ma, I was starting to think you wasn’t fucking with a nigga anymore.

Jaz: I’m sorry, it wasn’t even like that. I had a lot going on. I just recently moved and the thing with my ex, it was crazy. I didn’t want you to see me like that, I was so embarrassed.

Me: You good ma, I know how it is. But what’s up with you?

Jaz: Nothing just wanted to apologize. I didn’t want you feeling like I was ignoring your calls on purpose.

Me: That’s what’s up; I thought you forgot about me.

Jaz: I could never forget about you. Especially after you saved my life, lol. I do miss you though. (smiley face)

Me: Do you, what you miss about me

Jaz: Everything, I miss talking to you the most though

Me: I miss you to ma; let me take you out tonight. Just me and you.

Jaz: I can’t, I’m sorry. I have to study for this test, I got coming up Thursday.

Who you texting that got yo ass smiling and shit?” Harlem asked. I had forgot he was still standing there. Jaz had my undivided attention.

“Nobody, nigga,” I smirked

“That’s Mya’s sister ain’t it? What y’all talking about?” he asked looking over my shoulder.

“None of your business, bruh! Back up, let me breathe kid.”

I was just about to tell her to get at me tomorrow until she texted back saying that I could still come chill if I wanted to. I wasn’t about trying to disturb her while she was studying but I did want to see her. I text her and said aite and for her to give me a few hours. She texted back ok and her address. I smiled and said I’ll see you later. I could feel Harlem staring at me. When I looked up, he had a big smile on his face.

“What?” I walked past him and into the building.

“You know Prince gon’ flip the fuck out on ole girl if he find out you trying to get at her, right?”

“I don’t give a fuck about his ass, bruh. That nigga better be glad he walked away with just a busted lip and not his life. What he did to Jaz was fucked up for real yo, you know I aint with that men hitting women shit.”

“I hear you and all but what’s up with you and Jaz? You like her, huh?” he said.

“I’m not about to lie, I’m feeling lil mama. She cool peoples but I aint trying to wife shorty yet, tried that once and you know how that turned out.”

“Yea whatever nigga, you must aint see what I saw. If I wasn’t with Mya, I’ll wife Jaz little ass up quick my nigga.” He laughed. “Shit, any nigga would.”

“Speaking of wifey, what’s up with you and Mya?” I asked standing outside of the door I was holding the meeting at.

“Man, I don’t know, bruh. That girl all over the place. First she wants to be with me, then she’s too scared to commit. Like you said I’m feeling Mya, I want her bruh but she be on some other shit. I don’t know how much more I can take for real. Then she got some nigga calling her phone all day and night. I aint with that side nigga shit.” This was a side of my brother I’ve never saw before. He was acting like he got his feeling hurt and that can mean only one thing.

“You love her, huh?”

The look on his face told it all. Besides my mother, I knew Harlem better than anybody. He can stand here and act like he was only feeling this chick but I knew better. I knew all too much about being in love and I can personally say, it aint easy. It’s more like a job than a commitment.

“I haven’t really asked myself that. I don’t even know for real, Justice. I’m close to it but I’ll be damned if I love a chick that’s not gone love me back or at least feel the same way.”

“I feel you on that my nigga for real, for real. But let’s go get this shit over with. I’m ready to bounce.”

“Whatever, nigga. You’re just ready to go chill with Jaz sexy ass.”

“Aite, bruh!” I warned and he laughed.

                                                                                    ****

After giving the crew instructions on what to do next and dealing with Prince, I headed over to my mom’s to check on the boys before going to Jaz crib. I don’t know how long I was planning on staying out and wanted to see them before they went to bed.

I was going to let the twins finish school in the district my mom’s had them in. There wasn’t a need to transfer them and they only had two months left. So, I was going to let them stay with her until then. I still saw them every day and they spent weekends with me. The next day after I met Jazmyn, I went back home. I love my mother but I hope she didn’t think I was going to stay with her.

I used the key I had to let myself in; the smell of chicken had my stomach doing flips. I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water and a piece of fried chicken my mother had cooked and left in the oven for me. It was 8:00 on a school night so I expected the boys to be getting ready for bed but was surprised when I heard them playing around upstairs. The closer I got towards the stairs I could hear that they were actually fighting instead of playing.

“Jordan, get the fuck off of me!” Javier screamed.

“Nope you think you can beat everybody, not me bro.”

“Wait until I get up, ima show you something.” Javier replied.

When I walked into Jordan’s room he was sitting on Javier’s back slapping him in the back of his head. They was so much like me and Harlem it was crazy.

“Aye what’s going on in here? Y’all lil niggas supposed to be in bed. Javier why you in here anyway?” I asked.

“Because he’s scared to sleep by himself.” Jordan laughed.

“Boy, you the baddest one but the scariest one. I want yall in bed now. If your Nana call me and say y’all won’t in bed, I won’t be doing the talking next time, my belt is. Now get in bed and Javier do something about your feet I know that’s you, man.” I replied then went to go tell my mother good night. I stopped at her door and heard her moaning “Ah hell nawl, eww,” I said walking away from the door. Instead of leaving I waited on the twins to go to sleep before I left. The fact that my mother was having sex and I could hear her, creeped me the fuck out.

CHAPTER 11

                                       TUESDAY

“Hey Tuesday, Tuesday… TUESDAYYYY.”

“Why the fuck are you calling my name like that for Larry?”

“Bitch, when I call you and don’t say nothing that means come the fuck here.”

“Nigga, I’m doing my clients hair, what do you want?”

“I don’t give a fuck if you doing Michelle Obama’s hair, when I say come here, come here.”

“Hold on girl let me go see what this nigga want.” I told my client putting the metal flat irons back in the hot plate. I walked upstairs shaking my head. I already knew what he trying to do and I didn’t have time for his mess.

“What Larry? I have a client in my chair and I don’t have time to be going back and forth with yo ass. So, what the fuck do you want?”

“Man, that’s Sherita’s dumb ass from down the street. You take this stylist shit too serious.” He laughed pissing me off.

“What you call me up here for Larry? You are starting to piss me off. This little stylist shit I got going on, is taking care of yo broke black ass.” I said calmly but really wanted to take his head off for trying to play me. This bastard didn’t even have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of but had the nerve to talk about the way I do business.

“I’m hungry, fix yo man something to eat.” He said laid up in my bed, stretched out, with his hand in his pants.
He got me all the way fucked up.

“I know damn well you ain’t stop me from making my money because you bumped your head thinking I would, if you did. You got two feet, use them. I ain’t fixing yo ass shit, with yo dirty ass. Talking about something to eat, you need to get yo dusty ass up and take a bath. Got my room smelling like ass and stale feet. Matter of fact, get up and wash my sheets and shit.”

“I aint got to be here Tuesday, I got plenty of places to stay. Fuck you talking bout, I done let you push me around for too long and I can’t take this shit no more. Fuck you Tuesday I’m gone.”

I tried to hold in the laughter but actually seeing him pack his stuff had me dying laughing. He must have thought I was real stupid; this wasn’t anything but another way for him to leave for the weekend. I wasn’t falling for his shit though. When he leaves this time, it was going to be for good.

“Oh and while you’re at it make sure you get all your shit so you won’t have a reason to come back this time, ok.” I said before walking out the room.

“Tuesday, get your ass back here now.” He yelled stopping me in my tracks. “I ain’t finished talking to you and I’m not going to tell you twice. It’s going to be some changes around this motherfucka. I’m the fucking man and you gone start treating me like one. You know what? I ain’t going nowhere and you going to fix me that plate like I told you to.” He boasted.

Ok now I was mad. He was trying his damnest for me to go upside his head, just so he can have a reason to go back to his mother’s house. Same shit different day, like always. Larry would pick a fight, so he could go hide out in a crack house until Monday. Then he calls his mother and tells her I jumped on him again and kicked him out. I was playing smart this time though; I wasn’t going to lay a finger on him.

I walked back in the room and gave him a round of applause since he was trying out to be an actor. “That was nice, you deserve an Oscar for that. It was real cute, you trying to put your foot down and demand shit. You know Kunta Kenta tried that shit once and where that mutha fucking foot at now? I’m sick of these games Larry, just get yo shit and get out.” I said walking out, only to be grabbed this time. Now why would he do that? He know I don’t go nowhere with my big daddy. Even in my house, I kept my gun on me. I refused to leave it locked up or put away, especially how I’m living. I could be on the toilet shittin’ and have my gun sitting right in my lap. Call me crazy if you want to, I don’t give a damn. That could be the same time somebody try and jack me. Better to be prepared than naked and afraid.

I reached behind my back and pointed my 45 at his face. “You know better!” I stated calmly. He came to his senses then. “You got three minutes Larry.” I said walking back down the stairs to go finish my client, or as Larry say Sherita from down the street, hair.

“You straight?” her scary ass asked like she was going to do something.

“Yes Chile, don’t mind that nigga. He’s about to leave anyway.” I said picking back up the flat irons to finish where I left off at.

I was almost finished when I got this strange feeling come over me.
What’s taking this fool so long?
I thought when I remembered that I put Keke’s drugs in a black bag in the closet upstairs. I put the hair gel down and told Sherita I’ll be right back. Before I could get to the stairs, Larry came rushing down stopping at the last step.

“The door is that way Larry.” I said walking back over towards Sherita.

“You know my daddy always told me to never trust a woman with a big butt and a smile. Did I listen? No. I fell in love with one tha...”

“Bye Larry,” I cut him off to save the headache. He looked at Sherita then back at me and smiled. “You gone call me when you...”

“Larry you can’t even afford a phone, now bye before I shoot yo ass.”

“Well, you gone come looking for me and when you do ima be long gone cause paybacks a muthafucka.” He said before running out the door. I picked back up the gel to finish molding Sherita’s hair when I caught on to what he said. I dropped the gel and ran upstairs. When I reached my bedroom, I could hear Larry’s loud pickup truck burning tires. I opened the closet door and slid down my big pink mink coat. I released the breath I was holding and pushed the coat back when I saw it in the corner. I closed the closet door and walked out of the room. I was just about to go back down the stairs when something told me to turn back around and go check. I turned on my heels, went back into the room, opened the closet door and opened the bag. I removed the dress I had hiding the work and my heart dropped.

“That muthafucka,” I screamed throwing the bag of socks across the room. I sat on the edge of the bed thinking of what next to do and I needed to think fast because Keke was coming tonight to collect it. How do you tell a ruthless d-boy that you don’t have 2 cut up and bagged keys of crack cocaine because yo under cover crack head boyfriend stole it? Keke has a real bad temper that I never saw or wanted to see. I don’t know if it was because he looked at me like a mother or because he never had this type problem with me.

Even though I know Keke wouldn’t hurt me, I still needed to get those keys back before whoever the head nigga in charge found out.

I jumped off the bed and ran down stairs, “Sherita, ima have to finish yo hair another time. I got something I need to handle.” I said grabbing my keys and Prada bag off the counter.

“Tuesday hell nawl, I can’t go home like this. I have a date tonight.”

I walked over to her and snatched the tarp from around her neck. “Bitch get the fuck up out my chair so I can go.”

“That’s wrong, Tuesday.”

“Lord have mercy on my soul, the next time you need your hair done; it’s on me. I’ll do it for free, ok.” I said before pushing her out my house and jumping in my car.

                                                                                                  ****

When I arrived back to my house, it felt like I was standing on pins and needles. I almost shitted on myself when I saw Keke’s car in my yard. I didn’t know what to say or how I was going to approach him about this.

“Calm down Tuesday, just tell him what happened. You can’t lie about the truth.” I said getting out my car. He was sitting on my steps talking on the phone.

“What’s up mom dukes, where you been at? Had me waiting out here for almost two hours, you good?” he said walking behind me into the house.

“Keontay, listen. What I’m about to say is the honest to god truth. Now Kee, I didn’t have shit to do with this and I;m sorry I even let this happen.” I said pacing back and forth.

“Chill mom.” He laughed. “Take a deep breath and tell me what’s up.”

“You know Larry, right?”

“Your pipe sucking boyfriend? Yea and I been meaning to holla at you about that shit too.”

“Wait a minute, you know how he gets down?” I asked confused.

“It don’t matter how much you try not to or how good you look, a crack head is a crack head mom. I don’t see why you with him for real and quite frankly I don’t want that nigga around my shit.” The way he said the last part had me not wanting to tell him but it was either Larry or me and that was something I didn’t have to think about.

“It already happened Kee. I was doing a client’s hair when I and Larry got into a big argument. I told him to leave but forgot I put the work in a bag upstairs. He took it all Keke. I was out all night looking for him but I can’t find him anywhere. What do you want me to do, Keke?” I said all in one breath. The way he was sitting there calm, had me scared to death.

“Ima put it like this, Tuesday.” When he called me by my name instead of mom, I knew he was mad. “I love you like a mother but you got a week to find that work. I ain’t gone do shit to you but I can’t promise you that my big homie wont. Ima have to put him up on game about this and ima put word out on your boy but whatever happens, happens. You know how the game goes.” He said letting me know what’s up and I couldn’t fought anybody but myself. I couldn’t care a rat’s ass about what they do to Larry. He knew taking their stuff can get me killed. He didn’t care if I lived or died, so why should I?
