He ran his fingers through my hair. “Are you guys seeing each other?”

“No.” I was so relieved.

His hand went down my back a bit. “That’s good. Uh… I mean… you’re not seeing someone else, are you?”

“No.” I hoped he was going where I thought he was with it. I looked up at him. “Is there something else?”

He smiled and kissed my lips. “I was just wondering.”

“OK.” I knew it was more. He asked me too many times. Did he feel like I did? Or was he worried about me having to cheat on someone to screw him? I took a deep breath and sat up.

He looked at me quizzically. “You OK?”

“Fine.” I quickly got into his lap and straddled his legs. Then I planted a strong kiss on his lips. My arms went around his neck as I kissed him again and again. I pressed my breasts against his chest, urging him on.

He quickly caught on and searched for my tongue with his. I turned my head and came at his mouth from the other direction, needing him already. His hands ran under the T-shirt, over my bare back as mine caressed his skin all over.

As our kissing became even more passionate, I shifted my hips and ground over his rock hard cock under me. He moaned and pushed his hips up. Then he started to pull up the T-shirt I had on. He didn’t take it off, just uncovered my breasts and held me against him, so he could feel them. I loved how his chest felt against mine.

Soon after, he broke our kiss and looked at me. “Thank you,” he softly said, then peeked at my breasts.

“For what?”

“For… um… for taking my mind off my sadness with… whatever this is.”

My heart was aching to tell him, but I was so scared. I lay my head on his shoulder, facing away from his neck. “I’d do anything for you.” It was barely a whisper and he didn’t seem to catch it.

“You must be exhausted. You worked so long today.”

I picked up my head. Then I slowly climbed off of him, letting the shirt fall back down. I
was
really tired, but he had needed me. He picked up a throw pillow and put it in his lap then slowly laid my head on it.

I picked up my feet and curled them under me. Then I put my arm under the pillow, accidentally brushing his stiff cock. He grunted with obvious frustration.

I bit my lip. “Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.” Then I smiled to myself. It felt like it was nice and thick.
I bet that’ll feel so good inside of me.

He shifted his hips a bit. “It’s OK. It’ll go away.” He paused a few seconds. “Just relax. If you fall asleep, I’ll put you to bed. You don’t mind if I sleep with you tonight, do you?”

“No problem,” I responded with a smile. “Can you just make sure I’m up for work tomorrow?”

He ran his hand down my side and over my hip and stopped at my thigh. “Yeah, but you’re working so hard lately. I hope we can find another singer and get the band going again. Then maybe we’ll finally start making it.” We hadn’t played clubs for almost a month because of Rosario’s military commitments.

I started falling asleep as he caressed my bare leg. I felt his hand slowly moving up my thigh, until it was over my hip, under the shirt. Then I faintly felt his hand on my ass, under my panties.

He said, “You’re just so beautiful.”

I faintly felt him put me on the bed sometime after. But I definitely felt him cuddle up behind me. His cock was still hard as a rock and he lined it up with my ass perfectly.

As I drifted off again, his hand slid over the skin of my thigh, then up my body and under the shirt. Soon he had my breast in his hand and was massaging my hard nipple between two fingers.

“I wish I could make love to you,” he whispered.

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

We found a new singer, and our first gig with him was on a Friday in mid-February. We were all nervous. We had no idea how it was going to turn out. We had practiced old and new songs together for weeks, but was that enough?

Chris was the most impressive vocalist I had ever met. Not only was he a remarkable singer, he had gorgeous shoulder length light brown hair and hazel eyes. He was charming, as well as awfully handsome, which was a plus in my book. And besides all that he owned a silver Shelby Mustang Cobra GT500, with black racing stripes. The very car I had always wanted, but in blue.

We gathered in the back room to talk about how the night was going to go. “You do what feels natural, OK?” Chad advised Chris. “Rosario used to jump all over and hang on Crystal sometimes.”

“Hang on me?” I repeated. “He pretended he was fucking me!” I hated that, but put up with it because he was Giovanni’s brother.

Chris looked at me. “I won’t do that. That’s not right.”

I was a little relieved. “If you don’t feel comfortable holding the mic, just leave it on the stand, but don’t go far.”

“Guys, I’ve done this before. Relax,” Chris assured us. “I’m OK, really.”

I looked him over. He liked to be perfect when he was in public. He dressed so different from Rosario. He looked like Chad did when we went dancing. The girls were gonna love him.

Within minutes, we started setting up on the stage. Chris looked out at the crowd while standing next to me. I picked up his hand. His palms were sweaty, so he
was
anxious. “You’re gonna be great!”

He looked down at me. He was almost Giovanni’s height, but seemed to be thin like Rosario. “Thanks.”

We soon started out with, “She’s Lost to Me.” Once Chris opened his mouth, the crowd was hooked. He sounded a hundred times better than Rosario did on that song. He changed the pitch, because his voice was higher, and how long he held the notes. It turned out absolutely amazing.

He walked around the stage like it was something he did every day. His stage presence was unbelievable. He seemed to reach everyone in the room with his great charisma. We had no idea he was
that
good.

I smiled as I watched him come alive as he sang. He closed his eyes at times and seemed to really feel what the song was about. I could almost see pain in his expression as he sang about letting the girl he loved go. I was sure we made the right choice and things would just get better.

When the part came that Giovanni and I were silent, I went to him. I put my arms around him from behind. “When will you tell me who she is?” I whispered in his ear.

“Soon,” he replied as he put his hands on my arms. Then he leaned his head back and rested it on my breasts.

I smiled down at him. “You’re still in love with her, aren’t you?” It hurt pretty bad to say it, but that would explain why he wasn’t open to being with me.

“Yes. I’ll never get over her.” He was smiling, which I found a little weird.

I automatically leaned over and kissed his lips. He kissed me back and touched my face. I didn’t understand how we always wound up kissing, even when he was talking about another girl. Maybe I was just trying to show him I loved him and he should forget about her.

We kissed for the rest of the song. Then he softly said, “Crystal, you’re an incredible woman, you know.”

The next song we did was one of Chris’, titled, “This Job Sucks!” It was about his job as an assistant in a huge record company. It was the most thankless job I could imagine. The beat was fast, but it was softer than our old songs, more mainstream. The crowd loved that one also.

The rest of the night went terrific also. We couldn’t have done any better. Several girls practically threw themselves at Chris as he stepped off the stage. He seemed surprised but enjoyed it. He kissed them and got their phone numbers.

He came to me with the widest smile ever. “Damn, I love this!” He hugged me, tightly. “I know you had a hand in choosing me. I heard you fight for me the day you guys held auditions. Thank you.”

“Dude, that’s enough,” Chad told him with a jealous look in his eyes. Then after Chris released me, he added, “Baby, I was thinking we could all go back to my house and celebrate. What do you think?”

“Sounds like fun.”

Once we had unloaded the vans at Chad’s house, he broke out the alcohol. I put chicken wings in the deep fryer and then started cutting up vegetables.

Mark went looking for chips as I worked in the kitchen. “Guys don’t eat veggies,” he informed me.

“More for me,” I replied with a laugh.

Chad grabbed a carrot stick and looked at Mark. “Speak for yourself.” Then he walked towards his bedroom.

“Can I help?” Giovanni asked from behind me.

I turned around and looked up. Our eyes met as we smiled at each other. For a minute, I was lost in his gaze. I wished the situation was different so I could tell him how I felt.

He touched my face. “You OK?”

I blinked my eyes. “Oh, yeah. I’m fine.”

“Can I help you with something?” he repeated.

I felt just like I did the day I saw him in Chad’s garage. I was hopelessly in love with him and almost speechless.

“What’s going on, Crystal?” Giovanni put a hand through my hair. “You look so out of it.” He kissed my forehead. “Do you feel OK?”

Phil opened the refrigerator. “You missed her lips, man.”

“Go away!” Giovanni hated when anyone bothered us.

Phil laughed. “Get it over with, please!”

“I thought Rosario left.” Giovanni was getting really annoyed.

“Someone’s gotta say it.” Phil remarked.

“I was gonna tell you to take her…”

Giovanni cut Mark off. “If you finish that sentence, I’ll pulverize you.”

“OK, sorry. Touchy tonight, huh?”

Giovanni glared at him.

“OK, leaving now.” Mark went by Chris who was channel-surfing on the couch.

I quickly got myself together. If Mark and Phil could see we wanted each other, then Chad would see it too. I wished we could get it over with myself, but I understood Giovanni hated meaningless sex. I wasn’t fond of it either, but I loved him. It wouldn’t be meaningless for me.

Giovanni got out a knife and started cutting the celery I had washed. “Am I cutting it all?”

“Yeah.”

After about an hour I noticed Chris seemed to be nothing like Rosario. He did not make one comment about my looks, cleavage or anything else. It was nice to only have Chad doing it again.

I was sitting with him on the couch, trying to get to know him better. I felt it was important for us all to be close. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but you sure can knock them back.”

“Yeah,” he started. “I know I drink too much. Is it gonna be a problem?”

My eyebrows rose. “I guess it won’t, as long as you’re not drunk on stage.”

“I would never do that. I love singing way too much. I’ll cut down, if it’ll make you feel better. I only drink when I’m upset or excited or… Well, I guess I do drink almost every day. I swear I won’t let it affect the band.”

“Good, ’cause you’re an incredible singer, and I’d hate if we lost you.” I sighed. “Enough of that, what do you do
besides
drink?”

“Funny, Crystal.”

“I’m just kidding. So really, do you like to play pool?”

“Yeah, and read comic books, and in the summer I like the beach.”

Giovanni dropped on the couch next to me and threw an arm around my shoulders. “I hate sand,” he reminded me.

“Then I’ll have Chris take me there.” I looked up at him and smiled.

He touched my cheek. “Should I be jealous?”

“What’s up with you two?” Chris asked. “Are you like dating or something?”

Giovanni backed away from me. “No. We’re just good friends.”

“I don’t kiss my friends. I saw you two at the club.”

My face fell. “Don’t tell Chad, please,” I plead.

“Don’t tell me what, baby?” Chad was suddenly behind the couch. He leaned over it and kissed my lips.

“Stop, Chad!”

“What? I only kissed you. What’s the big deal? I kiss you all the time.”

Chris looked confused. “So, Chad’s your boyfriend?”

I sighed. “I don’t have a boyfriend. We’re just all really close. Chad and I have known each other for fifteen years. It’s hard to understand us.”

“Then what about you and Giovanni?”

Chad leaned over me again, putting his hands on either side of my head. “Yeah, what about you and Giovanni?”

I glared at him. “Don’t you start that shit again!” I already had few drinks and overreacted a bit.

Chad looked hurt. “Baby, I know. I’m sorry.”

“What, Crystal?” Giovanni whispered in my ear.

I turned to him. “Later, OK?” Things were getting complicated already. I hated being torn between them. Why couldn’t everything just be simple? “I need another drink.”

“I bet you do.” Phil interjected and handed me a shot of something. I looked at him. “Just drink it,” he commanded me.

I drank quick, hoping I wouldn’t taste it. “Ugh! That was nasty!”

“But it’ll help,” Phil assured me.

Chris touched my arm. “Why don’t you guys have a rhythm guitarist?”

“Oh, no.” Phil walked away.

I sighed. “That’s a loaded question, Chris.”

“Why?” He looked confused.

Chad leaned over me again. “Because the last two rhythm guitarists we had were fucking Crystal behind our backs and broke her heart. I ain’t letting that happen again.”

“They didn’t break my heart,” I reminded him.

Chad walked away. “I ain’t talking about those assholes again, baby!”

After about 20 minutes of drinking, we were all laughing and the tension was forgotten. I sat in Giovanni’s lap and pulled off his shirt. “Stop it. Not here,” he warned me.

“Chris, check this out.” I hugged Giovanni so he was against me and let Chris see the colorful fire-breathing dragon tattoo on his back. It was my favorite.

“Wow, that’s cool.”

I looked at Chris and bit my lip. “You got any?”

“Yeah,” he stood up and took off his shirt too. Among others, he had two snakes covering most of his chest, their tails somewhere below his pants.

I smiled and got up. Then I slowly traced the tattoo down to his belt buckle. “So where does this end?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” He looked down at me.

I pulled his pants and boxers out and peeked down. The tattoo ended at his well-trimmed pubic hair. Cool. But seeing that his cock was hard as a rock and definitely bigger than average, was a nice bonus.
