“Something
old,” Nana began. “That would be your mother’s earrings. Something new would be your beautiful dress.”

“Something
borrowed,” Emma said pinning a diamond and gold floral design brooch onto her shoulder. “This was my mother’s, I wore it on my wedding day, as she did on hers.”

“And
something blue,” Nana said, looking at the necklace her granddaughter fastened around her neck.

“We
need to get this show on the road,” Kristine said, struggling to stand back up. “The flowers are outside in the foyer and the men are ready in the chapel.”

“Then
let’s go,” Sandra said excitedly. Nana and Emma stepped out of the room ahead of Sabrina, Irena and Kristine, who held tight onto Traci Ann’s hand.

“After
you,” Sandra said to her sister, smiling happily as they walked out, closing the door behind them.

“You
look beautiful,” Papa said, stepping to Sandra’s side, handing her a bouquet of yellow daisies, white roses and pink baby’s breath. “Your Creighton has thought of everything.”

“He
always does,” she said, taking the flowers and noting the yellow rose in his lapel.

Kristine
handed a small basket of flowers to Mandy and Traci Ann, while Emma took Sandra’s ring and tied it to a white silk heart shaped pillow beside a two silver bands, one thin and small the other, thick and larger. The sound of an orchestra began to play
Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major.
.

“Brace
yourself, dear, there are a few additional people here,” Nana said softly. Sandra’s eyes widened as she listened. “Creighton brought the family here to witness your joining.”

“I
thought they were going to be at the reception tomorrow?”

“They
are, but he wanted you to have your whole family together,” Emma said softly. “He said you don’t like being stared at, but he really wanted you to be happy and he didn’t think having just a few people, here would be proper.”

Before
Sandra could think to complain, Sabrina and Cathy picked up the remaining bouquets as Kristine, Emma and Nana hurried to their seats. Irena stepped behind Sandra, lifting her train and smiling. Mandy held onto Traci Ann’s hand and began walking down the aisle following their older brother Spencer.

“How
is it everyone knows what to do?” Sandra asked her grandfather in a hushed whisper.

“That
Creighton of yours told his mom and your Nana what you wanted and they made sure it happened,” he said. “He didn’t want you to worry about a single detail.”

Sandra’s
smile widened and she drew a deep breath as the orchestra began playing the traditional wedding march. Sabrina smiled before walking down the aisle of the chapel followed by Cathy.

“Ready?”
Papa asked as he glanced behind them to Irena whose smile was near explosive. Sandra nodded and began walking slowly, gasping at the sights beyond the foyer.

The
church pews were decorated with pale yellow satin ribbons and orange-yellow bows. The center aisle was covered with a white runner, while more than a dozen pillars stood around the outer edges of the chapel, each holding a large vase of yellow and orange daisies, white roses and baby’s breath. Creighton stood at the front of the chapel in a dark black tuxedo, orange-yellow vest, tie and boutonniere. Derek stood at his brother’s side wearing in the same matching tuxedo and colors as the rest of the men, looking proud and anxious. Ahead of her walked Sabrina and Cathy following Mandy and Traci Ann as they scattered yellow peddles along the white runner. At the lead of the procession walked a nervous and slightly embarrassed Spencer, the small pillow in his hand.

Sandra
began to walk slowly beside Papa, who looked proud as a peacock, smiling at the separate families who stood to welcome the bride. Sandra felt embarrassed and awkward as she began her walk, but her eyes fell to Creighton and all visions around her melted away when their eyes locked. He was more handsome than she had seen him, and she knew without a doubt; she had made the right choice. This man, this wonderful perverted, controlling man who made money speak and her heart sing, was the only man for her and she was eager to begin her life with him, trusting him until the day she died.

TRUST ME II

“If I had a brain, I would have sent you back to Kansas. At least you would have been safe there.” Sandra snorted a half laugh and leaned into him, caressing his cheek with the tips of her fingers.

“You do remember where I lived, right?” she asked him. “Kansas is part of Tornado Alley. Trust me, a few displaced animals and a couple of threats are nothing compared to what I grew up with. I know things are crazy right now, but it will get better. The worst thing I could have done was leave you.” Creighton smiled, or attempted to, but he knew it was because of his past that she was in harm’s way now.

“Listen to me,” she continued. “You told me once, if I left you, I took everything you have of worth, you said I would take your heart and your soul. Do still feel the same way?”

“More today than the day I told you,” he said, the twinkle in his dark eyes told her the love was still there, only hidden behind a wall of fear.

“You’ve always told me to trust you, well I still do. I know things will work out and we can get on with our lives. Right now my love, you have to trust me. I will never leave you and will never back down to a creepy little jerk who thinks he deserves something for his crimes.”

Creighton sighed and pulled her into his warm embrace, kissing her lips passionately as though his life depended on it. His tongue easily slipped out and traced the outline of her lower lip before sliding between her teeth. He teased and tasted, battling against the eagerness of her own tongue, sweet from the strawberries she had been eating. Sandra moaned into him, surrendering her heart and absorbing his frustration, leaving both of them panting and anxious for more.

“I should put you on the Tornado and send you into the ocean where you would be safe.
At least I’d know you were away from here and out of the reach of that bastard.” Sandra laughed, her arms wrapping around his neck as she pulled him down across her, lying against the wavy floral design of the sofa.

“I’d be safe until a hurricane came by to say hello, or a tsunami decided to make my acquaintance.” Creighton laughed, kissing her neck.

“So I suppose no matter how much I try to keep you safe, I’d be wasting my time?”

“No, you’d just be trading one situation for another.” Sandra reached up and cupped his cheeks in her hands, caressing the soft dusting of the beard with her thumbs.

“You’ve always asked me to trust you, now I’m telling you to trust me,” she said softly. “I will not leave and I will not hide. You are as much my heart and soul as I am yours and you’re stuck with me forever.”

About the author….

Dee has always been a dreamer, she always had been; okay, so I’m not Sandra but I am a dreamer and I love writing, in fact I would rather write than breath
e
. I’ve never had the courage to submit my stories before now, but with the encouragement of my wonderful husband, Jim, and my children I found my backbone and just did it. Until Amazon, I thought the only way to get a book published was the old fashioned way; editor, agent and hopefully publisher. Although I have nothing against the traditional route, it just wasn’t fast enough for me. Thanks to a good friend of mine, Cassie Mae, I finally understood what it took to get my stuff out in the faces of readers.

I have always loved reading; it’s a passion of mine. When I was a teenager…just a few years ago…I decided to try my hand at writing my own books. I now have 17 stories ready to be edited and submitted. Stay tuned,
TRUST ME II
will be released summer of 2013, followed by many other stories of fantasies, romance and passion.
