"No.
We're
perfect."

"I was dead before I met you. Your light brought me back from the grave I was headed to." I felt my pussy clench with his words.
Leaning back, I braced my arms on the bed beside his legs, feeling him go deeper in this position.

"Oh, shit," I moaned. "I was dead and didn't even know it until you showed up. God that feels good."

"This will feel better." He moved his hand to the space between my legs, rubbing my clit lightly, teasingly.

"Fuck, you
're right." I increased my movements, slipping in and out of him at a quicker pace, my orgasm building slowly but surely.

I looked down at J and got lost in his eyes. I remember Chris once telling me she was so in love with a man she cried during sex. I didn't understand it then having only fucked, but never made love.
I'd brushed her off saying she was probably PMSing or something. Yet, as I stared into J's eyes, love and light pouring out of them, I understood what Chris meant. To be loved by someone so fully, so completely was foreign to me, but I got it now. I understood why she cried because I felt overwhelmed with emotions.

Did J sense it? Did he know I was in the middle of a life altering experience? I may never know, but when he started pinching my clit with the perfect amount of pressure, I felt my walls throb and my body quake.

Fuck, I quaked? I'd never quaked that I could remember.

But quake I did, and J, never one to miss his cue,
raised his hips to meet my thrusts.

I did something next that I'd never done before. A sob ripped through me, tears poured from my eyes, and I exploded around J. My body thrashed forward, my arms extended to catch my fall before I crumbled onto J. As I hovered over him, careful of his wounded shoulder, he pumped into me three more times before pouring himself into my still puls
ating pussy. He growled, yelling his love for me, not caring who heard, if anyone.

Once he stopped moving, I rolled to his side, exhausted, drained of all energy, and madly in love.

Chapter
39 – J

I woke up naked from the waist down with Elle curled up by my side. We couldn't pretzel our bodies with my busted up shoulder, but she'd managed to wrap one leg over mine and throw her arm over my stomach. I could've lain there all day, or at least until Elle woke up. Instead, I eased myself from under her and went downstairs to find Dig.

The sun was high in the sky when I entered the main hall, letting me know it was well past double digits. Dig was at the bar with Son staring at the computer. Even if I didn't hear Son's exasperated tone, Dig's furrowed brow told me whatever Son was saying was lost on Dig. He'd make a fine President, but he'd be forever in debt to his son for being the technological w
hiz he was, something MCs in this day and age required. When Ratchet patched Dig in, everything was done on paper, and I wasn't sure if the Tandy had even been invented yet.

My approach gave Dig the reprieve he obviously needed.

"Brother. Ya all rested up?"

"As much as I can be. Church at three, right?"

"Yes, sir. And then it'll be gettin' rowdy in here. Ya sticking around?"

I hadn't thought about it. I moved my shoulder a bit and pain shot from my neck all the way to my dick. I'd make it though church without pills so I could have a clear head, but once it was over I
'd be praying to the pills Doc prescribed.

Maybe not prescribed, as much as handed over.

"I'll hang for a little while, but I'm taking Elle home tonight. It's been a while since I slept at the club. I forgot how infrequently the sheets get changed."

"Based on the sounds coming from upstairs, we'll be needing to get some hang-arounds to do the laundry, especially if you plan on staying here again with your old lady."

Dig laughed.

I didn't.

"Sorry, brother." Dig looked back to Son. "You wanna tell him what you found?"

"Money." Son didn't look up from the computer screen as he said this.

"Care to elaborate?" I looked to Dig, as Son was feverishly typing away on the keyboard, fully engrossed in whatever the fuck were all the numbers littering the screen.

"
He found Burns' money?"

Dig nodded. "Just need to clean it now. If we can get the bike shop up and functional, we can run it through there little by little. I assume you won't be working on any bikes in the near future?" Dig pointed at my arm in a sling.

"Doubtful."

"You know we'll take care of ya, brother."

I told Dig I had money cleaned and stashed away to last me and Elle for a while, and instead he should make sure the rest of the St. Louis brothers were set.

"How long until church?"

Dig looked at his watch. "They should be starting to show up in an hour or so. Why? What do you need to do?"

"I need to make a run real quick. P around? I need a driver."

"I got ya, brother. I was done with this shit an hour ago," he said, motioning to Son and the computer he was leaned over.

"Son!" I clapped my hands in front of his face, blocking his line of sight to the computer screen.

"What the fuck?" He looked at me like I was the devil for getting between him and his technology.

"Your pops and I are gonna head out. We'll be back soon. If any brothers show up, tell 'em to hang tight. We'll be back before church starts at three."

"Yeah, I got it." He got though saying
yeah
before turning back to his computer.

"Can
ya look me in the eye for twenty seconds, boy?" Dig said in his military voice. Shit, I found myself standing a little straighter at his tone.

"Do you want your money or not?" Son, it appeared, was used to his father's militant
persona.

"Let's go," Dig said, placing his hand on Gramps and leading me outside.

Once we were in the car and pulling out of the lot, he asked where we were going.

"Best Buy."

"You shitting me?"

"Never. P was going to pick something up for me, but I need out of the clubhouse for a little bit. You know, clear my head before church."

Dig didn't say anything more until we were in Best Buy being helped by a guy whose tech knowledge rivaled Son's. Dig repeated his sentiment from the car.

"
Really, are you serious? You're shitting me."

I, too, repeated myself. "Never."

Dig looked to the sky. "Lord, help me."

I made my purchase and we arrived back in time to find all the brothers sitting around eating. I stashed
the Best Buy bag and went to the kitchen. Elle was standing over the sink washing dishes.

"What happened here?" I asked, unable to keep the humor from my voice. Elle was the last woman I imagined cooking and cleaning for a bunch of bikers.

"Hot ham and cheese sandwiches. It's the kids' favorite at the Center." She shrugged. "I needed to do something while you were gone, and where else was I going to go but the kitchen?"

"P could've cleaned up, baby." I was going to have to reiterate that the prospects were there to be used. We'd all done it, and things would be no different now.

"I know. He tried. Dig tried to make me stop, but I needed this. It's relaxing. My hands are busy, but my mind is free."

"You know, you say the most remarkable things sometimes. I'd like to live in your head for
a day or four." I came up behind her and wrapped my arm around the front of her shoulders. "I love you."

She tilted her head back, resting it on my shoulders. "I love you too."

"I need to head into church."

She turned her head, her golden eyes shining light right at me. "Then give me a kiss and leave me to my dishes." I obliged, kissing her a little longer than I'd anticipated, but her lips were like liquid gold against mine. They were hot and rich with passion.

She pulled away, a smile creeping across her face. "Go on to your boys. I'm gonna finish up here and then shower. I'll hang out upstairs. Come get me when it's party time?"

"Of course." I planted one last kiss on her lips before letting her go.

When I reentered the hall, Dig was waiting for me. "Church in twenty." I nodded to him and ran upstairs to set up my surprise.

******

"Thank you all for coming back again. I appreciate your willingness to travel back and forth between clubs. It will no doubt be something we'll be doing more of, though this time it will be
our
clubs, not Burns'." There was a round of hoots and howls around the table at Dig's words.

"Now,
let's get down to business."

As expected, Dig was voted in as official President of the St. Louis Missouri Mayhem clubhouse, with Scratch the acting VP. He'd been given the option of stepping down anytime he wanted to return home, though would be welcome in St. Louis so long as no one challenged his seat, and he kept up his duties. I had no doubt Scratch would make a fine VP. He'd been KC's Road Captain as long as I could remember, as well as standing in as Sergeant at Arms when necessary. Unlike other clubs, we were a motley crew of backgrounds, ages, and general dispositions. Scratch was in his thirties, unmarried, though not for lack of trying—on the women's part. Scratch liked to party, though was less of an asshole than Cash about it. If you looked up whoring asshole in the dictionary, you'd see Cash's mug shot. He took his VP responsibilities seriously in KC, but when business was handled, a new kind started for Cash. The kind that had curves, breasts, and place for him to sink his dick into.

Son announced he'd found some of Burns' money, and there was likely more. He'd already caught the trail of another source and needed more time to sort it out. The brothers in St. Louis were all anxious to get back to work at the bike shop, especially knowing their pockets would be full regardless of business.

Dig said he was still working out deals with the Zetas, but for now, they didn't need anything from us.

For now.

The words hung in the air, everyone unsure how long it would be until bullets were flying, mostly hoping there wouldn't be anymore bullets flying. Though we all knew that what we signed up for, and
having the club and brothers back was nonnegotiable. We'd go into battle again if necessary.

I hoped it wouldn't be necessary anytime soon.

"The final piece of business before we all head out to party is the leak. We know someone leaked info to Burns and his men. Probably been doing it since me and J were in Mexico." Everyone looked around the room at each other. "Don't worry your pretty heads boys. Everything Son's found leads me to believe it was someone on the outside. Our plan was too air tight for a brother to turn. Ya all didn't even know what was going on, or where J and I were until the last minute. Son'll keep digging, but we all need to be careful who we talk to and what we say. As well, if ya got a lead, ya tell Son. He'll look into it and tell me what he finds. Any questions?"

Scratch raised his hand. Of course. "J gonna stay here or in KC?"

I knew Dig was trying to avoid this conversation. We'd talked on the way back from Best Buy and he'd agreed to give me time to sort my shit. He'd also glossed over it when electing a VP for St. Louis. Leave it to Scratch to ask the point blank questions. He was a direct son of a bitch, but that's what made him a good brother. He was a straight shooter, never one to mince words or beat around the bush.

Dig went to speak, but I cut him off. I'd speak for myself today.

"I love this club. When I came to St. Louis, I was sixteen with a bike and a soul full of anger. Ratchet was like a father to me. An old father, but a father nonetheless." The brothers who remembered Ratchet well enough laughed. He'd been a father to most of us at one time or another. "I ain't much good to anyone 'til my shoulder heals up, but I'm not gonna pretend that's all there is to it. Everyone at this table knows the hole I've been living in, the shit I had to do for Burns, and the shit I did to get us all here to this table. I'm not saying any one of you did any less, but I got a woman upstairs I fuckin' went to war for and I gotta figure some shit out with her. She don't know what it means to be an old lady."

"She'll make a fine old lady," Dig assured.

"Brother, I know she will. The question is IF she wants to be an old lady. Gimme time to square my shit away?" I posed the question to all the men in the room, taking my time letting my eyes meet those of each brother around the room. They were silent.

"An
y questions?"

We all looked at Scratch knowing if anyone was going to say something, it'd be him. He just moved his head from side to side.

"Alright boys, let's party then." With that Dig hit the gavel and the room filled with sounds I hadn't heard in years. Brothers hugged and howled, they yelled their enthusiasm to one another, unable to keep quiet. The noise spilled over into the hall as everyone poured out the door. Someone kicked on the music, and girls I assumed had been waiting outside were let in to the party. I stood surveying the scene from the bar.

"Ya feeling nostalgic over here?" Dig put his hand on Gramps.

"'Lil bit. I'm gonna go upstairs and get Elle. I'll be back down in a minute."

"Take your time, brother. Ya know this is gonna go all night." Dig grinned, and it was the biggest grin I'd seen him wear in years. He was right where he needed to be, President of MM St. Louis, mother chapter.
