Tanek then moved lower down her body, parting her delicate curls, his tongue tasting and exploring all her folds. He used fingers to probe inside her, stroking her g-spot.

Natasha never felt anything like it. This man knew her body better than she did. “Oh yes, that’s it, don’t stop,” Natasha encouraged him with a groan.

Tanek kept going, and Natasha could feel her body overcome with pleasure. Then she came, her body exploding, writhing until her pleasure finally let up.

Tanek stood up from her, and he smiled. “You taste like sunshine.”

She wanted to give him as much pleasure as he had already given her, but didn’t know what he would like—a blow job, anal, cowgirl position, not to mention all the crazy kuma suta positions she read about.

“I want to give you pleasure. How do you want me?”

Tanek smirked and turned her around with her ass in the air, her stomach against the counter. Natasha smiled to herself. Note to self, he was an ass man. Tanek wasted no time; he was inside her, and pumped into her furiously. He reached around her and grabbed her breasts while he fucked her from behind.

Natasha pushed her behind against him as he pushed into her. She didn’t know how it was possible, but she felt another orgasm. She moaned as her body contracted and rode out the orgasm. Tanek immediately followed, grunting. Natasha could feel him catching his breath before finally pulling out. Natasha turned around. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him gently on the lips.

“I’m not going to tell you how great that was, because there just are not words that can express it adequately.”

Natasha freshened up a bit before falling into bed. Tanek lay next to her. The sun was outside, and she needed some rest. Se planned on trying to go into work for a few hours. She knew Tanek would fight her, but she knew she could convince him.

Chapter 39

San Diego, CA 1940

Natasha woke up, and she could feel the sun setting. Godfryd was also just waking. She had spent another night plastered to him in a coffin made for two. She asked him repeatedly to at least give her own, but he said he needed her by his side. She knew better; he just didn’t trust her, after she tried running ten years ago. She now knew she couldn’t run without a plan. She would need him to release her. If he released her, he couldn’t force her to do anything. She would be of free will. Godfryd stirred and pushed his hand out, opening the coffin and freeing them both. Every night when she had risen, it was like finally breathing again after holding her breath.

“Natasha, you can feed on your own tonight. I am meeting with someone, and it does not concern you. I am giving you more trust than you deserve. Do not try running again, just stick to the regular places.”

“Yes, sire, I will do as you ask,” Natasha replied automatically.

She was doing a secret happy dance, finally being free for the night to go out on her own. The first time since her failed escape attempt. She had done everything to be the perfect child to gain his trust again. She waited patiently for Godfryd to leave then went over to her modest stash of clothes and threw on a long black dress. Godfryd insisted she wear revealing things to get attention, but today, she could be just ordinary. She put up her hair in a ponytail and dressed it up with gold earrings and a simple necklace. Her shoes were black, open toe heels. She liked her outfit. She had no car, so she just used vampire speed to run to the club where she normally hunted with Godfryd. She walked right in, bypassing the line. She could immediately hear the music, and the heart beats of all the humans. The music was catchy and she immediately wanted to dance, but didn’t. She never really learned the new dance style. She sat at the bar and ordered a drink, a gin and tonic, her regular. She took a few sips and was joined by another vampire; a blonde woman. She recognized her, but never learned her name.

“Hey, I saw you come inside, but I did not see your sire this time.”

“He had other business. I’m on my own tonight.”

“I’m Ginger, by the way.”

The woman held her hand out, and Natasha took it and shook it. “I’m Natasha.”

“It is nice to finally meet you, Natasha. I have to be honest: you have really bombed in the sire department.”

“I kinda figured as much.”

“He is what we call a traditionalist. He lives in the shadows, and he only uses humans for food and brief enjoyment.”

Natasha already knew all of this. What she did not know was why she was talking about it. It was not like there was much she could do about it. “I know all this. I figured no one else lives like we do. I hate it and I hate him, but there is nothing I can do.”

“I have to tell you, Natasha. The reason I’m talking to you about this, Godfryd is also my sire. I convinced him to release me. I made him think it was his idea. I had been traveling and did not know he was still in California. When I saw him with you, I knew I had to help. I just couldn’t let him see me talking to you.”

This was it, this was the chance she had been looking for; a way out. “Please tell me, what do I need to do to get him to release me?”

“You need to be an actress. You need to convince him you embrace his way of life and want to create children of your own and live just like him. If you can do that, he will be happy to release you out in the world to carry on his way of life.”

Ginger looked around and grabbed her drink. “I must go, he has eyes everywhere. Feed like normal and good luck.”

Natasha stared at her drink, not watching while Ginger left. She now had her plan. She was not sure how long it would take, but eventually she would do it. She would be free.

Maureen was feeling much better, but so thirsty. Even with the hourly IV drips of additional blood, she was so hungry. The door opened and she saw Sally enter. She smiled a motherly smile. Maureen found it interesting; even as young as she looked, she still had a very wise presence.

“I was thinking that you may be ready for visitors,” Sally said as soon as she entered the room.

“I would like that, Sally. I’m still hungry all the time, it never goes away.”

“I will increase the frequency. It will help, and tomorrow I will let you feed on a goat to test your fangs. You need to know how to feed.”

Maureen made a face of disgust. “A goat? Really?”

“Many vampires start with animals, otherwise you would kill whoever you feed from.”

“Did you feed off a goat?” Maureen asked.

“No, I was given a human.”

“Did you kill the human?”

“No, Ebo was his name. I was thankfully able to control myself, but that is unusual, most cannot.”

“I would like to move to my room.”

Sally looked at her and shook her head sympathetically. “I’m afraid you can’t do that yet. You may still go into a blood rage, and we can’t risk it. I could bring you anything you want.”

“I just want to see Natasha,” Maureen said, barely over a whisper.

Maureen fell asleep, and woke up when she heard the door open back up.

Sally walked over to the IV, she changed out the empty bag for a full one, she adjusted it, and changed the frequency. Sally left the room, but the door was left opened. Maureen was beyond excited when she saw Natasha and Tanek enter the room. Maureen smiled and started crying. Natasha rushed over to her, and she hugged and held her.

“I’m so happy you’re doing so much better,” Natasha began. “I’m sorry this had to happen. I feel like it’s all my fault.”

“Oh, Tasha, it’s not your fault. It’s that freak, Shane. He had been following me around for days, lurking and watching. I thought he was just a harmless creep. Boy was I wrong.”

“Tanek called Sally. She came to help you. Are you feeling better?”

“The pain is mostly gone, but the hunger won’t go away. Sally said I need to get it under control before I can be moved to my own room.”

Natasha looked at Maureen and brushed her hair back. “I will bring down my beauty supplies later. No reason you can’t look beautiful during the turn.”

“I would like that. Can you find my pink headband?”

“Of course.” Natasha kissed Maureen on the lips and stood up. “I’m going to go to work for a few hours. I will come see you after work.”

“Bye Tasha.”

Chapter 40

Krispin finished the last of his paperwork. He managed to leave Shane out of as much of it as he could. He couldn’t help but think about the visitor, Sally. She was an ancient one, turned in the time of the great pyramids. He wondered if she would make a good replacement for Godfryd. He would need to meet with her and try to get her thoughts on some things, but it was not like he had any other options at that point. He picked up the phone and called Natasha’s house.

“Hello, this is Krispin Cortina. May I speak with Sally please?” The phone went dead then a feminine and familiar voice came on the line. “Officer Krispin, how may I help you this fine night?”

“I was just thinking about you, Sally. I was wondering if we could meet for a drink?”

There was a pause. “I’m flattered, but I am married. Did you not notice my tattoo?”

“Yes, I did. I am just looking to talk as friends, nothing more.”

“Well, I suppose that would be acceptable. I would insist we meet at Tanek’s bar.”

“Is tonight too soon?”

“No, but I need to see to some things here first. I will meet you at 1:00 a.m.”

“I will see you soon, Sally.”

Krispin hung up the phone. He had the meeting. Now he would have to get her to see things his way and join his cause. If she refused, he wasn’t sure what he would do. It was not like ancient vampires were just falling from the sky. Most at that age are loners and keep to themselves.

Sally, despite her better judgment, sat at a corner booth at
Bite Me
. It had been years since she had been to New Orleans, and the atmosphere was delightful. She hadn’t really packed clothes for going out. Luckily, Natasha was nice enough to lend her a dress that wasn’t too big, especially once she added a belt.

There was a live band playing music. She was happy to see Tanek finally caved and started getting live bands. It was the normal New Orleans type music with brass instruments and a soulful singer. She had ordered a Plasma Mojito. She liked the mint, and the plasma gave the nutrition without the added red color. She sipped it and was, quite frankly, enjoying herself, even though she was alone. She thought about how she wished her husband, Connor, a werewolf, could be with her. He was busy with work and just couldn’t get away.

“Hello Sally,” Krispin greeted as he sat down.

Sally was going to try and give him the benefit of the doubt, but she just didn’t trust him. She learned a long time ago her intuition was almost never wrong. The waitress who waited on her rushed over, and took his order then rushed off.

“So, Krispin, I must ask: why did you really want to get together?”

“I just thought you seemed an interesting woman and I wanted to get to know you better. One can never have too many friends.”

Sally smiled. She knew he was lying and she wanted to find out what his angle was. “Krispin, I am old, very old. I know you are not interested in making more friends. We are vampire, we do not do friendly get togethers.”

The waitress came back and handed Krispin his drink and rushed off again. He took a drink. It was a blood red color. “I wanted to meet you to ask you about being an ancient.”

“What about it?”

“You have lived through most of human history. I wanted to just find out what life was like for you. I am putting together a vampire database, and I am interested in your history.”

“I do not talk about my past, not even to my close friends. Why would I discuss it with you? I do not know you or trust you.”

“It is only for my records; nothing you tell me will be shared outside the VC offices.”

“There is nothing to tell. Born in Egypt, I was probably what you call middle class, I sold bread in the open market with my mother, and my father was from Kenya and worked at the palace. I had a good life.”

“It sounds so interesting.”

Sally did know why she was telling this lying scoundrel anything, but she wouldn’t tell him anything of significance. Connor said she needed to be more open with people and not to distrust everyone. “It wasn’t, really. I was spotted by a vampire, looking for a mate. He turned me, and I spent many centuries running from him.”

“Who was this vampire?”

“I’d rather not say; it’s not important.”

“That’s fine. So how did you live after being turned?”

“It was a hard life. I ran from my sire, so I had to figure things out on my own. I went to Europe and lived in England then France. I met some other vampires that helped me to learn what I was never taught.”

“Did you live as a traditionalist?”
