“And I love you—more than life itself. We have the apartment, the pain in the ass cat, and the best damn relationship that anyone could ever dream of having.” I cup her face with my hands and pull it down close to mine. “I love you, Leah Bennett, and want to spend the rest of my life with you. Marry me.”

Tears flood her eyes and her face brightens with the smile that makes my heart jump from my chest.

“Okay,” she smiles. “Let’s get married.”

Five Years Later

“Matttt….Babe, wake up!...Matt!”

Sitting straight up and glancing over at Leah’s side of the bed, I notice she’s not there.

What the hell?

“Baby, where are you?” I shout, frantically jumping to my feet.

“In the bathroom…hurry!” she yells back in a frightened tone, making me basically run the few short feet to our master bathroom.

I swing the door open and find her standing in front of the toilet pointing to something inside of it.

“Look,” she says.

Well, this is a first.

Walking apprehensively over to the toilet, I peek over the edge to find the most disgusting thing I have ever seen.

“What is that?” I ask, already feeling my stomach churn.

“I think it’s the mucus plug,” she answers nervously, shrugging her shoulders.

Oh shit—the mucus plug!

Feeling the adrenaline building inside, I look at Leah with big eyes and a huge grin.

“Babe, that’s awesome! That means little man is coming soon,” I wrap my arms around her neck and kiss her forehead.

I hear her sniffle and feel her body tremble a little. Bringing my hands to her face, I cup her cheeks and wipe the tears trickling down her face with my thumbs. “You can do this, Babe. You’re the toughest woman I know and I’ll be here with you every step of the way.”

“But he’s early…” she chokes out. “He wasn’t supposed to be here for two more weeks and the Superbowl is in five days. He can’t come this week.”

The spring of my senior year in college, I was drafted into the NFL. I was asked to move up to the professional level the prior year, but I declined until I finished college. As much as playing in the NFL is a dream of mine, there was no way in hell I was going to leave Leah behind, nor would I ever pull her out of school before graduating. Leah was not okay with it, saying I shouldn’t give up my dream for her, but I assured her there would always be other opportunities.

And I was right.

When the offer came in the following year it was to an even better team- the Jets. I almost shit my pants when I got the news. Not only have the Jets been my favorite team since I first learned what football was, but is the perfect location for Leah and I to settle down in. The Metlife Stadium where the Jets play is in East Rutherford, New Jersey–just under an hour from White Plains, New York where Leah is from and where her family still lives. Plus, it’s only six hours away from Jack and the kids in Buffalo–an easy day trip.

I was unaware I had super sperm, so Leah had a bun in the oven within weeks of coming off of the pill, making her due date a little sooner than we had planned. On top of that, we made it to the Superbowl this year—which is this Sunday. We’ve been practicing all day, every day with basically only time to eat and sleep—not the best timing for little man to come. As always though, Leah and now our baby will be my number one. There’s no way I’d
ever
miss the birth of my baby and not be there for my wife—Superbowl or not.

“Hey, listen…” I rest my forehead against hers. “Football always comes second—you know that,” I softly tell her before gently kissing her lips.

“It’s the Superbowl, Babe. It’s not just another game.”

“Yeah, and this is our baby. Why are you even worrying about this?”

She doesn’t answer.

I push the loose strands of hair back that are hanging in her face and look deep into her tear filled eyes. “How are you feeling? Any contractions or anything?” I ask, changing the topic and trying to remember everything we learned in our birth classes.

“Well, I’ve been having those Braxton Hicks thingies all day today…”she says, running her hand over her belly. “But, maybe they’re real contractions–I don’t know. They don’t really hurt.”

Looking at my watch, it’s only 1:40 a.m. The doctor said not to call him until her contractions are five to seven minutes apart and she can’t talk through them. Seeing that she’s talking to me like it’s just another day, we’re good for now…I think.

“Why don’t we go lay down then?” I say, resting my hand on her lower back. “You need sleep, especially if we’re going to be meeting the little guy today.”

Hearing that she’s going to be meeting our son, her face brightens and a smile creeps across her face. “Oh my god, this is really happening. We’re finally going to meet our little Jackson,” Leah says. Her eyes fill with tears again, but this time with an added sparkle of excitement.

I hold both sides of her belly and looking my beautiful wife in the eyes.

“Yes. We’re finally going to meet our little Jackson.”

Nolan & Alexa’s Story

Prologue

“Can I have everyone’s attention please?”

The noise and chatter become silent and all eyes shift to the front of the terrace where Alexa and I are standing.

“I just want to thank you all for coming tonight,” I begin with a champagne glass in my left hand and my other arm wrapped tightly around Alexa’s waist. “From the moment I laid eyes on Alexa, I knew she was the one for me. This last year has been the most unbelievable time of my life and it’s because of this beautiful woman next to me.” I pause to give her a quick glance. “So many times I had to bite my tongue to keep myself from asking her to marry me, afraid that she’d run for the hills thinking I was crazy, but come last month I just couldn’t wait any longer. I finally popped the question and thankfully, she said yes.”

A small chuckle erupts amongst the crowd of people.

“Alexa and I are so happy to have you all here to celebrate with us.” I lean down and kiss her temple. “We also want to thank Alexa’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold, for putting together this beautiful engagement party. This,” I motion to the elegantly covered tables and the big canvas lanterns hanging from the trees, the endless stations of food, and the over the top private bar, “is all their doing and we appreciate it all.”

“Yes, thank you mom and dad,” Alexa adds in her sweet voice.

Both of her parents smile and her mom blows us a kiss. Having their blessing is a breath of fresh air. I thought they were going to chop my balls off when I originally asked permission to marry Alexa. She’s only a freshman in college, why can’t you wait? Don’t you think you guys are moving a little too quickly? But after melting their hearts by confessing my undying love for their daughter, I’ve had their blessing and support ever since.

“Now let’s all eat and have a good time…cheers!” I hold up my champagne glass, toasting to our guests.

After taking a quick swig, I turn to my beautiful bride to be and pull her snug into my chest. “I wish I could just marry you right now,” I whisper against her lips before kissing them gently.

“Me too, but I’d like to be able to legally drink at my own wedding,” Alexa smiles, bringing her arms up around my neck. “Aren’t you supposed to get hammered at your wedding and have crazy hot sex afterwards?” she continues, her fuck me eyes giving me an instant hard-on.

“Since when do I need you sloshed to have hot sex? I can get that whenever I want.” I bring my mouth down next to her ear and whisper, “You just won’t be able to walk for days after the things I do to you the night we say I do.”

Affected by my words, she swallows hard as her body softens in my arms. I know she’s picturing what my cock is thinking and for a second I wonder where the closest restroom is to give my love a little sneak peek. If there’s one problem that we have in our relationship it’s that we can’t keep our damn hands off each other. We could fuck and make love from sun up to sun down. You’d think after being together for over a year it would mellow out a little, but no, we still screw like rabbits and it gets better each and every time.

Knowing that we’re at a party being thrown for us, I try to calm my urge to bend her over and have my way with her. Instead, I kiss her cheek with a “this will be taken care of later” look and link our hands together, joining the rest of the party.

About the Author

Some may consider me a jack of all trades, but I consider myself well rounded.

I’ve waitressed, styled hair, answered phones and, most recently, worked full time as mom to my two beautiful little boys.

Then there was this book…

Everyone and their brother started talking about this book series titled
Fifty Shades of Grey
by EL James. I didn’t really pay attention to the craze at first, since I wasn’t a big reader–okay, I didn’t read at all. But curiosity got the best of me, so I downloaded it to my kindle.

I was immediately hooked. I read the whole series in three days. Yes, three books in three days.

I kept finding all these great books that I HAD to read (just ask my credit card!).

Then I started hearing voices. Voices that turned into stories; stories that were begging to get out of my head.

I started writing them down on scraps of paper. Then I transferred them to my computer. Before I knew it, Planning on Forever was born.

The voices in my head are still talking, so I’m still writing.
