“Unca Dex!” she squealed as she continued her greetings.
T straightened his tie as he sat back, extending his arm across the back of Angie’s chair. Leaning sideways, he placed his mouth near her ear. “Out of the mouths of babes, darlin’. Dylan can’t be a girl ‘cause he already has a boy name.”
“Dylan can be a girl’s name too, you know, T.”
He blinked, not having thought of that. Without warning, Angie sat up straight, her hand flying to her mouth. In a blink, she was racing down the aisle toward the house.
“Want me to go, T?”
“No, Meg,” he said with a sigh as he stood. “I got it.”
“Poor thing.” Megan sympathized. “I was green until my last trimester with the twins. Maybe it will start easing off soon.”
“That’s what the doctor keeps saying. Still, she goes right on puking.” He then followed in his wife’s wake, catching a glimpse of the bride as she came out of the house.

Walking out on the dais set beneath a flower draped arch in Sean and Mara’s backyard, Peter Davis took his place with Tony Rossi, his longtime friend and best man, by his side. He then turned, and with great anticipation, awaited the first glimpse of his bride. A long time in coming, he was giving Joanna what she’d always wanted, the wedding of her dreams.
When she stepped onto the white satin runner that would lead her to him, he exhaled a long sigh of contentment. More in love today than on the day of their wedding, to him, Joanna was also more beautiful. And fortunately, not as angry. He’d worried briefly that she would say no on that day long ago, when the hastily arranged chaplain had arrived at the last minute, dressed in dusty fatigues and asked for her vow. She’d had to sacrifice the wedding she had planned when his unit was called into action.
That had struck the chord for the next three decades, but she’d stuck by him through it all. Standing by him during a lengthy military career, numerous wars and foreign conflicts that had taken him from her side more times than he could count, and caused him to miss so many milestones in their lives that he’d missed while serving his country. His eyes shifted to Jace and Callie in the first row, their two kids, now grown, were surrounded by their own families. Strong and constant, Joanna had raised them with him contributing when he could, which often meant long distance. He marveled almost every day over what a lucky man he was to have found her.
As their eyes met across the gathering, Elena began to sing their song, Journey’s,
Faithfully.
From her smile, he knew she was remembering their first date when she was a fresh faced college bound girl of eighteen and he a young Army officer. Approaching on her father’s still steady arm, he could see the tears glistening on her lashes. He could also hear the sniffles from a few of their guests, mostly close friends and family, who knew how much she longed for this day.
His eyes drank her in, her ageless beauty stirring him as always, the lustrous blonde hair, curvy yet still slim figure, and her flawless skin. The gold choker at her throat drew his eye. It was the day collar he had presented to her long ago. Discreet enough to be worn daily in public, to them it was as special as her wedding ring, signifying a deep level of commitment to each other and their lifestyle. A symbol of respect, devotion, and the ideals they shared, to live their lives as dominant and submissive. Later, during a private moment, he planned to replace the gold collar with the diamond and sapphire one he’d had custom made for the occasion. As they aged, that part of their life hadn’t gone out of style. She was still his beautiful slave girl and he her loving Master.
Shifting his regard to the others in attendance, he was pleased so many had come. Eric Dupree and his wife, Valerie had flown in from L.A. for the event. The Baron and a few friends from the Gilded Cage in DC had made the long trip, as well. Many were from the local club, including Ben, their newly promoted club manager, and his subbie wife, Sadie, their attorney Joseph Hooks and his lovely submissive wife Livvy, Mistress Lorraine and Deacon, her sometimes sub, sometimes Master, and so many others who had become an important part of their lives over the years.
His gaze swept over his fellow club owners. Cap, Rick, Dex, Jonas, Sean and Lil T were friends, business associates, and long before that, teammates, but more importantly, to him they were family. An extended family that now included six wives and a multitude of children. Like him, each special man had found his one, the other part of him, the half that made him whole. It hadn’t been easy, not by a long shot, but every one of them would admit without reservation that fighting for what he wanted, no, for what he needed, was worth any struggle.
As the love of his life arrived at his side, he took her hand and before the congregation of exceptional witnesses, they both vowed, once again, to love each other faithfully until death did they part. And as he did so, he felt the joy of a lifetime bursting within him.

A lifelong reader, Maddie became a romance junkie as a teen with her first romance novel, The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss. From then on, she was hooked, and gobbled up everything she could get her hands on, whether contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi. If there was romance to be found between a strong alpha male, and a sassy, adventurous and oftimes defiant yet loving woman Maddie was all over it. As an author, she stays true to those themes writing steamy erotic romance, with a side of kink, and adding elements of intrigue, danger and suspense to her plots.
Maddie started writing as a hobby. Her stories stayed private while she raised a family and worked full time as a registered nurse. It wasn’t until 2012 that she decided to take the plunge and submit her first book for publication: Captain My Captain. She found acceptance at Blushing Books and published an impressive twelve novels the first year.
She’s still juggling writing with her day job and you’ll find her working at her laptop into the wee hours of the night, scribbling plot ideas onto the notebook she always keeps handy, and working out the details of a scene while floating around in her pool with a lemon drop in hand. Don’t be surprised if you see her pulling over on the side of the road to capture an idea for a scene on paper, because as Maddie says, her best ideas always come when there isn’t a pen in a five-mile radius.
