Krissy pulled him into her and slid her legs slowly out from between his.

“Krissy,” he gasped, and he began entering her quickly.

Krissy’s body shook as she climaxed again and again.  Knowing that he had given this beautiful woman such pleasure brought Leon quickly over the edge.  He steadied himself against the force of his own explosive climax as Krissy held him to her, kissing and nibbling his earlobe.

“Baby!”  The doctor collapsed on top of his wife, and in her arms he slept.

Leon was exhausted after having slept little in the past few weeks, and he fell asleep quickly, snoring lightly.  Krissy slept for only minutes it seemed before waking up in a cold sweat.  She felt as if she had been running a marathon or that she was frightened of something or someone.  Her heart felt as if it would burst through her chest and she felt nauseated.  She smoothed the soft black hair of the man sleeping on top of her, hoping that he would awaken.

As the nauseated feeling passed, Krissy’s mind began playing tricks on her.  She thought she saw things but when she closed her eyes they did not go away.  The images were blurry and made no sense to her, until she saw the accident.  It was as clear to her as if she were reliving it.  What had caused it?  If only she could remember what had caused her to crash that day.  Did she black out, have a stroke, or maybe fall asleep?  With the added weight of Leon’s body on top of her, Krissy felt as if she couldn’t breathe.

“Leon!”  She thought she was shouting, but her words were not heard.  “Leon!”  She screamed it this time.

Leon could feel the heart beating inside the chest against his own and in fear he looked up at the dilated pupils of his wife.

“Something is wrong, Leon!”

“You need your medication.”

“Hurry.  I can’t breathe.  I think I’m dying.”

Leon ran through the house and grabbed the one vial of medication that was still cool to the touch.  Krissy was thrashing about uncontrollably when he returned and he fought to keep her still while he drove the needle into her vein.

“Krissy, look at me!”

The young woman’s eyes opened slowly and Leon felt her heartbeat slow.  She took a deep breath and felt better almost immediately.

“You will sleep now, Krissy.”

Krissy patted his head and then she was out.  Leon showered and dressed quickly, and still exhausted, he opened the door to the basement and to the laboratory his father had left behind.  He had found the notes his father had kept hidden and he vowed to continue in his stead.  The remedial beginnings of his father’s dream stood waiting in the basement refrigerator.  Adding only a few drops of the nondiluted substance he had perfected would allow him to gain the respect his family deserved and make him a very wealthy man.  The minute amount he had used with Krissy had worked, and the Chinese government would no doubt be thrilled with the dilution effect.  That meant greater revenue for less product.  The goal here was not to kill.  The goal was to erase all memory in the subjects.

But Leon was not ready to share his discovery yet.  He would remain secluded out here in the country for as long as it took for a full disclosure of his research.  Krissy would be taken from him and locked up in some government facility if she were ever discovered.  They would steal his test subject from him the same way they had stolen the dignity from his father.  Krissy was his test subject…not theirs.  Leon had worked for three hours when he decided to call it quits and check on Krissy.  She was not in the bed and he panicked when she did not answer his call.

“Krissy!”  He looked everywhere and then he noticed her walking outside amidst the flowers that grew wild in the country.

“Krissy, what are you doing out here?”

“I was on my way to the kitchen when I noticed these.  They are beautiful, Leon.”

She picked several of the multicolored aromatic flowers and brought them into the house.  “Do you have a vase?”

“I think there may be some in the living room.”

Krissy walked past him as if she didn’t even see him, but he grabbed her by the arm and stopped her.

“Are you okay, Krissy?”

“I’m fine,” she assured him, and kissed his cheek.

Leon sat down in a chair and rubbed his forehead.  There was something different about Krissy that he couldn’t explain.  She seemed well rested, but very distant, and lost in her own world.  Maybe the medication had changed its character somehow in the transfer.

“Krissy?”  He heard the clink of the glass as she set it down in the kitchen.

Her footsteps were soft as she rounded the corner.  “Yes?”

“You’re quiet.  Is everything okay?”

Krissy walked toward him smiling her sweet sensual smile and held out her hands.

“Where are we going?”

She led him to the bedroom and pushed him onto the bed.

“What are you doing?”

“If you have to ask, then I’m obviously not doing it very well.”

She began to slowly shed her clothes, piece by piece, smoothing her hands along her body, teasing her husband into wanting her so badly that he pulled her down, holding her with one hand while he maneuvered his way out of his tightening pants with the other.

Krissy giggled at his teenage-like awkwardness.  “Mmm, looks like you have plenty for Krissy.”

The change in Krissy’s personality made the doctor want her even more and he pulled the pert breasts one by one into his mouth, pulling on them, biting the nipples, spurred on by Krissy’s loud gasps and erotic comments.

“Fuck me, baby.  Make your wife a happy and satisfied woman.”

He plunged into her, nearly coming as he entered.  Krissy pulled at him, clawing at his skin, and never seeming to be filled with enough.

“Deeper, honey, harder!  Give you wife what she wants…like you used to do.”

Leon was pounding as hard as he could, delving deeply into her until he made a sound like a wild beast as his climax claimed him.

“Oh fuck, Krissy!”

“Mmm, tell me about it.”

She stretched out her arms and laid them flat upon the bed.  Leon started to leave but she wrapped her legs around him and squeezed hard as his cock began to soften.

“More,” she moaned and closed her eyes.  “It’s just like before, isn’t it?”

Leon began to panic at the thought of Krissy remembering, with her comment about how it used to be, but he knew he was just being paranoid.  She was probably trying to find something that would jog her memory of her past life.  He kissed her and she pulled his tongue into her mouth.

“Krissy, what has happened?”

His words were garbled with his tongue in her mouth, but she understood them.  “It got soft.  That’s what happened.”

He pulled away with questioning eyes.  “What?”

“It got soft.  Make it hard again.”

Krissy’s eyes were catlike and the doctor tried to will an erection but he was clearly spent.

“I don’t think I can for a while,” he said in a teasing manner.

Krissy snarled and pushed him off of her with the words, “Too bad.”

Dumbfounded, Leon watched as his wife avoided his stare as she walked out of the room.  He lay there and listened to the sounds of pans banging in the kitchen and cupboards being pulled open and slammed shut.  He grabbed his clothes and stood just out of Krissy’s sight, watching as she put various ingredients together in a large bowl.  What have I done?  Knowing how well the medication worked when it was at a very cool temperature, he wondered if he should administer a second dose.  Maybe it would override the previous one which may have been too warm.  But what if a second dose so soon after the first one killed her?

Leon snuck past the kitchen where Krissy was lost in her own little culinary world and opened the door to the basement.  Quickly and quietly he hurried down the stairs and pulled a chilled vial from the back of the refrigerator.  When he returned he found Krissy pouring whatever she had mixed together into cupcake cups.

“What are you making, dear?”

When no response was given, Leon wrapped his arms around his beautiful wife and kissed her cheek.

“Is it ready yet?”

What was she talking about now?  “Is what ready, honey?”

“Your soft little dick, that’s what.  Now get away from me.  You know when to come back.”

Leon wanted to hate her but he knew he was responsible for her mood, and he jabbed the needle quickly into her arm.

“Stop it!”

After she elbowed him in the gut, she went limp in his arms.  He carried her to the bed, covered her, and watched as she slept once again.  This time he sat in the chair beside the bed while she slept.  He documented everything from length of rapid eye movements to the slightest twitches of any part of her body.  She appeared to be sleeping soundly and Leon felt his head bobbing as he tried to stay awake.  Watching her sleep was finally too much for him and he pulled a pillow from the bed and curled up in the big chair.

He was soon snoring softly and didn’t hear Krissy get out of bed.  She looked over at him and smiled a somewhat devious and knowing smile, thinking how easy it would be to slash his throat.  Who was he anyway…her kidnapper, her lover…because she knew she was not married to him.  She grabbed her clothes, struggling to put them on as she stumbled out the door.  Looking back, she saw little movement in Leon, so she kept on going.  He had hinted about his laboratory somewhere in the house and the only part of the secluded country abode she had not yet seen was the basement, and she was determined to know what was going on.

She closed the door behind her and switched on the tiny bulb that lighted her path downward.  The basement was cold with little more than a refrigerator in the corner and a computer on a small table, but Krissy knew that the answers to her questions about her strange acting supposed husband and captor were to be found here in the darkness.  The man who claimed to be smarter than most had not logged off and the computer screen was quickly highlighted with complex formulas, both chemical as well as mathematical, and Krissy grumbled to herself.  “I don’t know this shit!”  She tried to make sense of just a small part of it, but she had not seen one day of a chemistry class and math was clearly not her forte.  She hit the ‘page down’ button on the keyboard until she came to some writing.  She may not understand numbers, but words she understood.

The formula had been perfected in the United States before Leon brought its final form here to China.  The government was expecting it upon his return and if he failed to deliver, then what?  Krissy had little information about foreign governments but the things that had been written and spoken regarding the Chinese officials were less than complimentary.  “They tainted our cat food, for God’s sake.”  There was no telling what fate awaited Leon.  But what kind of chemical concoction had he brought them?  What purpose did his secret formula serve?  She read on but the sentences seemed clipped, unfinished, like a puzzle, and she tried her best to put them together.  Memory…loss… sustained... continuum.  Did he really think he could suppress someone’s memory forever?  Why would he want to?  What was all of this for?  For spies, of course.  Oh, that was stupid!  Or was it?  If the U.S. had spies, surely other countries did, too.  Krissy was no scholar of politics, but she was determined to do her best to figure out the game plan here.  It was obviously a very secretive one.

At the very bottom of the document was a formula for extending the mixture.  Project ‘Water Down’ it had been labeled.  How little substance is needed to continue test subject in memory loss and for how long.  Note any side effects such as change in mood, etc.  Krissy continued to scroll down through the pages and at the very bottom she found notes about herself.

‘Test subject had personality changes when dose not cooled sufficiently.  Trying varying doses for optimum effect at minimum dose.’

“Test subject!  I’m a test subject?”  Hmm, Krissy was going to have a little fun with her loving husband.  Staring down at the golden wedding band, she tried to remember more of her past.  If only she could remember.  That would help a lot.  Clearly, the derived medication had worked at least to some extent.

When she closed her eyes she could see a woman in a hospital bed with Leon watching over her.

“Was it me?  I really did have an accident.”  But the unusual brain injury…was that just an excuse to use her as his subject?  Was he that desperate?  Why was he trying to please this government so badly?  He’s a U.S. citizen, isn’t he?

Leon was in some kind of trouble.  That was it.  He had to prove himself in some way, but why?  Krissy had to get away from here to avoid more medication.  No, that was too easy.  She would pretend not to remember even as Leon continued to decrease the dosage.  Then when he went to the government to present his great invention with its miraculous findings as well as his human test subject, she would rat him out.  That was a much better plan.

She left the computer exactly the way she had found it and started up the stairs, but then she looked back at the refrigerator.  Wanting to pour its contents down the drain, she opened the door and pulled out one of the vials and purposely set it down beside the computer.  Leon will think he left it here.  It’s time to let him know how it feels to remember nothing.  It’s time to give the doctor a taste of his own medicine.  She walked with light steps up the stairs and made her way quietly back to the bedroom.
