His arms slid around her body and stroked down to her hips where he cupped her bottom and pulled her against his tall, lean frame.

“Wait.” She pressed her hands against his bare chest in alarm. “Your ankle. It’s not on the board. What—” He drown the rest of her panic by kissing her, his tongue tracing her lips until they parted, thrust in her mouth with a sensual authority that made her melt against him.

She tried to remember to be careful of his leg to not press against him so much she’d knock him off balance, but the way his hands shaped her body and his mouth made it too easy to lose herself and fly away in a sensuous dream.

“I don’t want to hurt you.” She gasped against his mouth.

“Wrap your legs around my waist.”

She did and moaned as he nuzzled her neck, sending shivers all the way down her spine.

He pulled her up and she automatically locked her ankles around him.

“Okay?” she asked breathlessly.

He nibbled on her lip. “If you don’t stop treating me like an eighty-year-old man there will be severe consequences.”

“Severe?” She kissed a trail along his jaw, feeling the smile start in her stomach and spread throughout her entire body.

“Very.” He bent her backwards and before she even realized he’d untied the strings with his teeth, her bikini top floated away. “Yes,” he hissed in appreciation and licked his way up her stomach, pausing to tease the gold ring in her belly button with a tiny OM charm.

“This is the one I gave you.” He breathed in surprise.

“Yeah,” she said softly, pleased that he remembered but more than a little embarrassed that he now knew she’d kept a reminder of him and their failed relationship forever attached to her body.

He slid the noodle floats under her shoulders.

“Relax,” he said, his hands opening her thighs. “Look at the stars.”

He’d always been into the stars and planets, pointing out constellations from whatever beach they’d been on all over the world. He knew all the names, the history, where they were seasonally.

“Try to lay still,” he whispered against her tummy, his tongue circling her belly button and then tracing a path lower. “I want you just to feel me.”

His words were nearly lost in the splash of the waterfall tripping down from the higher, larger pool. But she could feel his hands, shaping her bottom while he kissed along the low line of her bikini bottom and slipping inside. She arched, trying to position her body where she wanted his mouth the most.

“Patience.” He laughed against her belly button and then slowly kissed his way to her core, blowing lightly on her and then sucking through her bikini bottom.

“Kadan.” She moaned and writhed.

“You must stay still.” He loomed over her, tall and strong and dark as a god.

He looked at her, spread out on the water before him. She felt so nervous and excited and turned on that she could barely contain her mind, much less her body.

“Touch me,” she begged. “You have to touch me.”

He continued to loom, his gaze caught in hers, but his hand dipped inside her bikini and, skillfully, he caught her clit with his thumb.

“Like this.” He tempted, his thumb pressed down and turned a lazy circle.

“Yes.” She arched again, trying to ride his hand.

He pulled away. “Sure?”

“Kadan!”

His hand splayed against her belly, one finger slipped inside her bikini bottom and drew a slow circle and then a faster one, repeating on the nub, until she could barely breathe.

“You want?”

“I need.” She gasped, so close, trying to plunge herself over the edge, but his hand was just out of reach.

“What?” he asked. “Show me.”

The waterfall was louder now, a dull roar, and she thought it must be her heart pounding out of her chest or her blood racing though her veins.

He lifted her on the ledge so the spray hit her softly and then pulled off her bikini bottom and flung it back over his head into the pool.

“I love to watch you. Show me what you want.” His gaze was hot with passion.

“You know what I want.” She tried to sit up, but he pressed her back on the tile ledge.

“Open.” He positioned her body so the waterfall tumbled over her and felt like the massage of thousands of fingers.

“Ohhhh.” She breathed out and arched into the water.

He moved her hand.

“Show me what you want me to do to you. I love watching you.”

“I want you inside me. Now.”

“Show me.” He tempted, covering her hand with his and moving it over her clit.

The combination of her hand and his was heady and she jerked. Within seconds, self-consciousness disappeared. It was almost as if the water hitting her body and the sound of it falling sent her to a private bubble where only she and Kadan and desire existed. She directed the rhythm and then he dipped his finger inside her and she gasped, wanting more, all of him, right now.

She tried to ride his hand, but he smiled and pulled out. He licked his finger.

“You taste exquisite. Like apricots and strawberries,” he whispered in her ear. “I want to eat you alive.”

He quickened her rhythm and sent her tumbling over the edge to bliss. His mouth took over for her hand and Hollis nearly screamed as he brought her to another fast orgasm before the first had even begun to fade.

She began to come back to her body, aware that he was watching her, stroking her arms and drawing small circles around her nipples before sucking them into the heat of his mouth one at a time.

“Your turn.” She stared down at him, his erection so prominent in his board shorts, illuminated by the blue and green pool lights that bounced off the waterfall.

“Later.” He mouthed.

He sat her up, so the water cascaded over her head. He put her hands behind her back and braced them against the edge of the ledge. Then he looped the yoga belt around her hands several times.

Her eyes widened. How did he even still have that thing? Much less the presence of mind to use it.

“Okay?” He paused and looked at her.

She nodded, not sure if it was or not, but desperate to have any part of him any way she could. Even the water didn’t bother her. It was like Kadan was the cure for everything wrong in her life.

He tipped her back a bit, so the water hit her shoulders.

“Can you breathe?”

She nodded. She squirmed on the ledge trying to get closer to him so he could stop wasting time and pound into her in rhythm to the water so she could no longer remember where she left off and he started.

Instead he bent down and sucked her soft folds into his mouth. It was electric and the edges of her vision blurred as his skilled mouth and tongue took her over the edge she’d just ridden in seconds. Her body spasmed and her coordination deserted her. He held her hips, keeping her glued to the edge of the ledge, while he rocked her hips back and forth against his thrusting tongue.

Hollis bucked against him, chanting yes and his name over and over until she felt like she was floating in space, part of the stars. He pulled her up and kissed her mouth, and she could taste herself mingled with him. She clung to him, loving how his muscles were so hard, but his kisses alternated between sweet and hungry.

“I want to do that to you,” she said against his mouth when she could finally gather her thoughts enough to speak.

And she wanted him inside of her with an intensity that was as terrifying as if was familiar.

“You can.” He covered her hands as she tried to pull them out of the yoga belt. “Later.”

“Forget later. I want you now.” She wriggled free from his hold and the belt so she could stroke the length of him through his shorts and her stomach dropped in excitement.

“You are so beautiful,” she whispered, her hands inside his shorts, wrapping around him and cupping his balls. “So powerful.”

She felt his answering leap as he came even more alive in her hands. Kadan had always been an impressive size and very athletic. He hissed in pleasure, his eyes went heavy. Lust curled through her body as if she were finally waking up after six years. His eyes darkened and he caught her hand.

“Later,” he said, his voice rough. “I didn’t bring any condoms with me.” He kissed her. “And because what I have planned is going to take a long, long time.”

Chapter Eight

H
ollis felt uncoordinated as she slid into her Jetta. It was as if her limbs were too relaxed, but her blood was surging through her body, creating too much energy for her to rein in. It took Kadan longer to get in the car. She wanted to help him. She would have if he’d been a client, but she knew how independent he was. It had to bother him that he was relying on her even a little bit. He was such a physical man. He must feel diminished in some way.

Maybe that was why he’d reduced her to mindless, sexual craving, but could resist his own needs—to show her he still held the power. She jammed the key in the ignition and started the car. His hand slipped inside the thin, beach cover-up and cupped her bare breast, his thumb brushing lightly against her nipple, which puckered and hardened instantly.

“I love how you are so responsive to my touch,” he said. “Your breasts are so beautiful. I love their size and shape.” His fingers traced the circumference, his glittering dark eyes holding hers. “I love that you are always so natural, so soft.”

He bent his head and sucked her nipple into his mouth. She gasped and instinctively angled her body toward his, giving him total access. His other hand slipped between her thighs.

“And I love how you are still so wet for me.” His fingers lightly cupped her mound, teased the entrance. “And getting wetter.”

Hollis was hyperaware of everything. His masculine scent permeating and overriding the light chlorine smell. The brush of his wet hair against her shoulders. The moon riding higher in the sky. The way every nerve in her body had jangled to life and was vibrating. High-fiving each other and shouting out in triumph. No wonder she hadn’t been able to make a go of any career. She’d been half alive over the past six years. Mostly dead without him.

“Let’s go home,” he murmured against her breast and then sucked the peak into the warm moist cavern of his mouth.

“I can’t drive now.” She gasped.

“You want me to stop?”

“No.”

He laughed and then kissed her mouth. He pulled her beach wrap shut but didn’t tie it.

“I can behave for thirty seconds. Minute tops.”

She knew he meant her to laugh, but she felt unraveled in so many ways as if she were naked before him in every way possible and that was exactly how she was supposed to be. It was exhilarating and scary. Hollis drew in a shaky breath. Her brain tried to kick in to help her, but her fingers were trembling when she tried to shift into reverse. She felt another gush of liquid between her thighs just thinking about having him stretched out in the bed naked. Hers for the night.

Or longer.

“I can’t.” She confessed in a rush.

“Drive? Or is this a bigger I can’t?”

He was offering her an out. Her heart leapt in her throat in protest. There were a dozen reasons why she should say no to renewing a physical relationship, and no practical reason to say yes, except that this was the one man who made her body sing, who made her feel alive, who made her so soul-searingly happy that it was hard to breathe without him, nearly impossible to get out of bed and shuffle through her day when he wasn’t in it.

“Drive.”

He reached over and shifted into reverse.

“I’ll steer. You get the gas and brake.”

“Kadan, we have to cross through town.”

“Trust me,” he said with a cocky grin.

H
ollis felt awkward the minute they entered the guest cottage. She wasn’t sure what to do with hands and her arms when all she wanted to do was touch him. And their lovemaking had always been so physical—against walls, on counters, using furniture not necessarily designed for such active pursuits. Now she was so afraid of hurting him physically or emotionally, although he’d always been so confident, so arrogant, it was hard to imagine him really sustaining a hit that would do more than sting. Still, she had worked with vets for more than two years, men and women who had been used to being in charge of their lives, physically and psychologically strong. She knew anything was possible.
