Isabella gave him a nervous little laugh. “No.”
Keenan nodded. “I guess we’ll find out eventually.”
“Yep.”
He nodded again. “All right then.”
Taking her gently into his arms, watching to make sure there wasn’t another blast coming, he kissed her on the forehead.
Keenan turned to look at the vegetables on the counter and frowned.
“Maybe we’ll go out to eat.
Hotcakes
?”
Isabella patted his arm and examined the counter with him. “Sure, I’ll get my coat.”
They never talked about it again.
