“That’s sounds like a dumb reason to be abusive and mean.”

“Who you telling? That’s why he’s so hard on himself and his business is so successful. I heard he wins most of his cases by paying off jurors and judges.” Lisa added. Sasha chopped up the chicken she was using for chicken salad.

“Wow, he just hasn’t met the right woman to change him.” Sasha argued.

“Sweetie, you’re not the first, second or third. That man is seriously ill and he needs to see someone. He doesn’t associate with anyone and your house is always pitch black even when he’s home. Creepy, if you ask me.” Lisa shrugged.

Sasha smiled
. Her baby was weird just like her. They were just two twisted souls that needed love. Sasha scooted Lisa out so she could prepare her baby’s lunch and bring it to him.

Sasha sat in the waiting area waiting for Byron to wrap up his meeting as she clutched the container with Byron’s lunch in it. Sasha smiled to herself as she thought of what she had concocted for Micah. Micah didn’t physically touch her but while Ashley beat Sasha, she had her eye on him the whole time wondering why he would do her like this. True, she was drunk and should have not been acting that way, on the other hand, they shouldn’t have served Hennessey at the baby shower. After waiting twenty minutes, Byron called her to his office. Sasha followed making sure she was right behind him. She stepped into his office, put the container down, and then pulled a plate out her bag.

“I brought you chicken salad; I made it out of the roast chicken I cooked last night.” Sasha eagerly showed Byron. She had become very domestic the last few months.

“Excellent, I sure could eat. I know you didn’t come here to bring me lunch what’s on your mind, babe?” Byron asked, being Doctor Jekyll.

“Well, remember when I was hospitalized because of that fight I had?”

“Yeah, the one you said your ex started.” Byron dug into his food.

“I was thinking about suing him, you know, for what he did to me. I want you to represent me. It would bring a lot of exposure to the firm,” Sasha added in to smooth him over.

“Let me get this right, you want to sue your ex for what he did to you? He never put his hands on you and if you say otherwise it’s just hearsay. Not all exposure is good and I wouldn’t waste my time dealing with this.” Byron stuffed some chicken in his mouth.

“What if I acted if I was pregnant with his child and he doubts the paternity?” Sasha used, she needed anything where she can get Micah back.

“Baby, you sound ridiculous. You’re not pregnant.”

“I can be.”

“Not by me. I will not impregnate you for revenge purposes. I have more than enough money to take care of us.”

“Look, I already have this planned. If you’re with me, fine. If not, oh well. I will find another firm who wants the exposure.” Sasha folded her arms.

“Fine, Sasha, don’t get me into no shit. I don’t know how or if I want to know how you are getting pregnant. I will represent you. One question, how will you prove the paternity of the child?” Byron needed to know.

“I know people who know people. I can get forged results.” Sasha thought of her new brother-in-law. He worked in a diagnostics lab. She knew she could pursue him to see things her way, after all, who wouldn’t want extra money when you wife makes more than you?

“Another question. I know I said I didn’t want to know but how are you planning on getting pregnant?” Byron also needed to know.

“Sperm bank. I have a fake id and everything; it won’t be traced back to me.”

“Go do you and when you’re ready to bring it to court I will file whatever needs to be filed,” Byron offered. Sasha kissed Byron and ran out the office to fulfill her scandalous duties.

Chapter Thirty

Minka walked into her office with a smile on her face. She had a semi-great couple of days in Florida but she was happy to get home. Donovan was in a studio session and Bill the office manager was in Minka’s office.

“Good morning, Miss Santos. I know, no coffee, so I picked us up some caffeine-free lattes.” Bill handed her a cup.

“Stop calling me Miss Santos, its Minka. Thank you, I appreciate it.”

“I will stop as soon as you stop signing my paycheck. You have a package on your desk.” Bill disappeared down the hall. He sat in on sessions when there were nothing to do in the office. Minka entered her office and plopped down on her chair; she unstrapped her heels, then slid her feet into her office slippers. She used her letter opener to slice the tape and took out the papers. On top, there was a hand written letter in George’s handwriting. Minka opened sat back and read the letter:

My beloved
Minka Minkas.

If you’re reading this I’ve been passed on to another life
. Don’t be sad, embrace that I am in a happy place. I felt, out of all the people I left behind, I needed to address you the most. You cared about my well-being more than my wife, God bless her soul. I wanted to leave this letter to let you know all the items I’ve got you are yours. The condos William ‘leased’ for you, you actually own. The deed to both properties is enclosed in the papers. I also am leaving you two million dollars in properties and money. Spend it wisely, Minka, I know how you spend. The accounting firm you own 20% of, shhh, don’t tell William. The money you receive from the firm will be deposited into an account I set up for you.

Now what I really need to get this off my chest
. I hope after you don’t judge me and, instead, will think of me as the same. When Morocco was sixteen years old, she used to hang with my daughter, Fiona. The girls were so tight you didn’t see one without the other. One day, Morocco came over while Fiona and my wife were out with some friends. I invited Morocco inside knowing Fiona wasn’t home. Morocco was the perfect shape; she was beautiful I just had to have her. One thing led to another and I forced Morocco into bed with me. We had sex that afternoon and you were conceived. Morocco threatened to tell her father. Of course, I told her no one would believe her and everyone would think she was a whore.

I’m ashamed of what I did and because of it I made sure she always had money. Morocco
, of course, got pregnant, her parents shipped her off to your great grandparents and I never heard from her again; her parents moved. When I met you at the office for the first time I didn’t know who you were. We started our situation and I was a satisfied old man. A year into knowing each other I found out you we’re my daughter. William was having an affair with Morocco and I found out about you. I know I should have informed you but I was selfish. Minka, I know you’re looking at me as a monster. I had a problem that I refused to acknowledge or receive help for. Minka, I am your father and William and Fiona are your siblings. I'm sorry for breaking this to you in a letter, I couldn’t face you. I hope all is well and I love you, Minka.

                                          Love your father, George.

Minka ran to the nearest trash can and threw up her breakfast. She couldn’t have slept with her father for the past three years. Her brother couldn’t have been the man who slept with her repeated times.

Bill and Donovan came into the office to
Minka bent over her trash can. Bill pulled Minka’s vomit ridden hair out the trash can while he patted her back. Donovan grabbed a cup of water and a towel out the bathroom. Minka finally came up from air with tears coming down her face. All these years, she blamed her mother for being so cold and cruel but she didn’t know how to be a mother. Morocco’s childhood was taken away from her. She couldn’t love a child that made her remember a horrid time in her life. How could Morocco give love to her when she hated her father for what he did to her? Bill helped Minka sit in her seat and rubbed her back. She felt her life was officially over. How could she be a millionaire but feel so low about it?

“What’s going on, Minka?” Donovan asked with concern.

“Here.” Minka handed him the letter. Donovan quickly read the letter then sat it down on the table not prepared for the contents of the letter. Donovan took a seat and put his hand over his head.

“Damn, Minka, you were sleeping with your father? How didn’t you know?”

“How would I know? I never knew my father and my mother never told me. She would get upset whenever the subject arose. That sick motherfucker raped my damn mother,” Minka trembled. Bill looked a little displeased; he was also raped by a family member and fought with his sexuality every day.

“I don’t know what you can possibly do. If it was me I would press charges,” Bill finally spoke up.

“Bill, he’s dead. He was like eighty years old. There is nothing I can do now but sit here and know I fucked my father and my mother was raped.” Minka wiped her tears. She felt like the room was spinning and she couldn’t keep up. Minka fell out the chair and passed out.

Lisa sat in Micah’s bathroom applying her make-up. Micah was at practice so she had the whole house to herself. Her husband was out of the country for a few weeks, hence, she had all the time to spend with Micah. Lisa sometimes felt bad for what she was doing to her husband. The truth was Julius was boring and Micah kept things new and exciting for her. The almost two hour trip she made to see Micah every week was well worth it. Lisa pushed Micah to give them a title since she was always used to being a wife, fiancé or girlfriend and never just a “friend.” As silly as it may have sounded, Lisa was a label whore and not just with clothes. The melody sound of Danity Kane played. Lisa rushed to answer her gold iPhone 5.

“Hello. Lisa,” she answered. She even spoke different when away from Micah.

“Hey, honey. I’m coming in tonight. The trip was cut short. How about me and you tonight on the patio and dinner?” Julius asked, enthused to see his beautiful wife.

“Sounds like a plan, sweetheart.” Lisa pinched her arm. She and Micah had plans tonight.

“Okay, I’m in the limo on my way home. I’ll see you in a bit.”

“I will be right behind you; I’m actually in Miami right now so I’ll pick up some fresh seafood.

“That’s fine dear. See you soon. Julius ended the call while sitting across the street looking at Lisa’s Maserati parked in front of a gated house. Julius smirked as he snapped a couple of pictures. He watched Lisa leave the house and get into the car. He knew he had the perfect reason to leave the marriage without having to abide by the prenup. Lisa was notorious for her affaires.

Early
into their relationship Julius knew he couldn’t satisfy his wife. Lisa had to sleep around. She didn’t care if it was the gardener or the electrician; she just had to have another man’s dick into her. Julius wasn’t a saint either. He had been seeing a cheerleader from her father’s team. Lisa was used to money so she didn’t cherish Julius the way she should. Julius knew his new woman would cherish him and do the things a wife did minus the sleeping around.

Chapter
Thirty-One

Sasha damn near skipped out her
OB/GYN’s office and unlocked her car before getting in. Sasha got sperm under an alias then was injected, also. The doctor told her if she was pregnant, she would start feeling symptoms, but not to become alarmed if she didn’t, not all women got symptoms. He also informed her to come back in on the scheduled follow up. Sasha cranked her car up for the five hour trip from Jacksonville back to Naples.

Sasha arrived back home to an empty house. She pulled out some menus from the kitchen drawer and placed an order for dinner; she would fix the food up like she cooked it. What Byron didn’t know wouldn’t kill him. Sasha pulled out her cellphone and dialed her brother-in-law’s number. She had overheard some woman in the waiting room gossiping about prenatal DNA testing that can be done as early as nine weeks. Sasha inquired about it and the lady informed her that a close friend of hers got it done and that was all Sasha needed to hear. The phone rang two times before Lorenzo answered.

“Hey
, Sasha... is everything okay?” Lorenzo asked.

“Hi
, Lorenzo. I’m okay I can’t call to check up on my brother-in-law?” Sasha smooth talked.

“Oh
, okay. Well I am great... How are you?”

“I am fine. Just pregnant and nauseous… please don’t tell my sister since she can’t have kids
and all.” Sasha half lied. She wasn’t pregnant YET. However Meghan really couldn’t have children. Meghan had found out years earlier about being infertile.

“Your sister can’t have kids?”

“Lorenzo, that is between you and Meghan and not my business. I'm calling because I need a fake prenatal DNA test done. I am not asking you to do it for free. The money I’m offering can have you sitting lovely and probably afford a surrogate.”

“Meghan didn’t mention she can’t have
kids. We’ve talked about starting a family in the next year or so,” Lorenzo expressed still stuck on the mention that his wife couldn’t have children. Sasha rolled her eyes and paid the delivery man. He looked for a tip and she slammed the door in his face.

“I don’t give a fuck about you and Meghan
’s plans. Can you help me or not?” Sasha raised her voice.

“How much are you talking
, Sasha? You know I can lose my job from this.” Lorenzo finally got off Meghan’s infertility.

“About fifty thousand
. I’m willing to pay so can you do it?” Sasha lied again. She planned on giving Lorenzo two thousand dollars and black mailing him.

“I'm your man, when do you need this?” A now eager Lorenzo questioned.

“I’ll call you. Delete my number and don’t mention this Meghan.” Sasha ended the call. She threw her phone on the table and sat down the freshly plated eggplant parm.

                                                           ***

Sasha sat picking at her food. She didn’t eat much. Both Meghan and Sasha struggled with anorexia. Both women pushed each other to the point of not eating. Meghan was hospitalized for seven months and had fertility issues and menstrual issues to this day because of it. Sasha however still didn’t eat and didn’t understand why Meghan now ate; they were a team. “Hunger hurts but starving works,” was the quote they used since twelve years old. Sasha despised Meghan gave up on their pact.

“What are you in deep thought about? Eat your food, it’s delicious.” Byron scooped some more food into his mouth.

“Not really hungry tonight. What’s going on with work?” Sasha side-tracked the conversation to Byron’s work knowing he could talk for hours about it.

“It was pretty good. I have a couple of new clients and lost some old ones, its life.” Byron sipped his wine.

“I went to get injected with the sperm and called my brother-in-law about the fake results. I would say today was very productive.” Sasha drank her cognac.

“Very well, I see.” Byron stood up and threw his plate into Sasha’s face causing her to let out a high pitch shriek.

“Getting injected with another man’s sperm is a
productive
day for you! Got damn trash. Clean this shit up and come to bed.” Byron swigged his wine and sent the glass crashing on the floor.

Another glass broken
,
Sasha thought as she examined her face through her fork.

Nothing some make up can’t fix
. Sasha finished her cognac and picked up the broken glass.

“Baby do you want ice cream?
” Sasha called when she finished cleaning up.

“No
, just bring your ass up here,” Byron demanded. Sasha turned all the lights off downstairs before looking out on the patio window to Lisa’s house. Lisa and her husband sat eating lobster. Sasha huffed wishing she could have that type of relationship, not knowing Lisa and Julius marriage had more problems than algebra.
