CHAPTER ONE

Skie

I was feeling amazing tonight. I loved dancing, it’s my passion. I was about to do a dance battle with my crew. My crew consisted of me, my two friends Monroe and Anika, and it was a bunch of others, but that would be too much to explain. Dancing was our lives, if we couldn’t dance, I don’t know what we would do. Dancing was my entire life, and my goal was to become the best dancer in the industry. I wanted to do everything from going on tour, to being in movies. But, that came with limitations, since I’m a big girl. I wanted to show them that even though I had more meat on my body, I could still get down with the best of them. Being a size fourteen never slowed me down, so why should they care? If the fact that I was a big girl didn’t shock them, I'm sure my purple hair that stopped in the middle of my back, my chinkey eyes and my short stature did. I was Asian and black, so of course that was another thing to add to my resume of different things about myself, but I loved my size, myself and my talents, and nobody wasn’t going to tell me different.

I was in the process of stretching when Blu walked in with her best friend, Ryder. Man, that girl was so damn fine. She had red curly hair, an athletic build and big doe hazel eyes that looked through your soul. However, she was the same height as me, but everybody couldn’t be perfect. I was in the middle of day dreaming when Monroe was saying my name.

“Ski, man what the hell you thinking about? I said your name like 5 times,” Monroe looked annoyed. I blinked my eyes at her.

“My bad, Blu walked in and I guess I started day dreaming about kissing those soft looking lips of hers.” Monroe was on the floor laughing her ass off now.

“Girl, why don’t you just talk to her? You see her a lot, we all go to the same college and we have these dance things every weekend. While you’re over here daydreaming, you could actually be between those thighs,” Monroe joked.

“You’re enjoying this a little too much. Why don’t you just worry about you and Anika and let me worry about my love problems? Watch, one day Blu will be mine, if she knows it or not,” I continued to stare Blu down.

I didn’t even know if Blu was into females or now. I saw her with Ryder a lot, and I honestly thought they were a couple. But, then she started dating this guy named, Midnight, a while ago. The rumor was that she dated females in the past as well, but they rumors, so I didn’t know how much truth were in there. I did know that she was the first girl I found attractive in a very long time. I’m very picky about who I date, so I haven’t been in a relationship since I was a junior, in high school and here I am, in my second year of college. I’ve hooked up with people and went on a few dates, but no one held my attention, so I didn’t make that next step to get into a relationship with them. So, for now all I had was my dancing, which wasn’t a bad thing. I wanted to see the world, and most importantly, I never wanted to struggle.

Blu

I walked backstage with my best friend, Ryder. We were running a little late, so I looked around for my crew. Ryder had a basketball game, and he happened to be my ride to this dance battle. He better be lucky that his ass won, or I would have missed the chance to dance. He knew how much I loved to dance, so imagine how pissed I would have been if he lost. I loved dancing, but I really loved to be a choreographer one day. It was something about creating a routine, and seeing the dancers act it out on stage. It was like live art for me. My mom used to tell me that I started dancing the moment my feet touched the floor. She’s the biggest supporter, it’s been just us, since I was born. I didn’t know my dad, and my mom never talks about him. Honestly, I didn’t mind, if he didn’t care to make an appearance in my life, he wasn’t worth talking about.

I finally found my crew and hugged them. Today we were going against a street crew called, Black Illusion. No one had ever defeated them, but today that all changed. Skie had her shit together, and I could say anything bad. She had a YouTube channel, where she had a bunch of subscribers, and did little dances. She was actually good and I was a little nervous for us. Even though I knew I’m the shit at dancing, they’re the team to beat. We never went up against them. Skie was sexy as hell, I went to college with her, but we never really spoke. Everybody’s dream was to make it, so that’s what we did. Whether it was ball, dancing or writing, we just wanted to make it. I just joined this crew, but before that I was doing battles solo. Then the dancing devils approached me to join them, and I couldn’t turn them down. It felt good being a part of a team.

“Man. I’m so hype,” Remi said. Remi was the leader of the crew. She had been in a couple music videos, and even went on tour with Trey Songz. That was my key decision on being on their team.

“Me too, I can’t wait to get out there and show everyone what we can do. I know we’re gonna kill it. Besides we’ve been working our asses off.”

“Hell yeah, I’m ready to be number one up in here. Skie and her crew been number one since last year, and honestly I’m tired of it. I don’t have a problem with them or anything, but I want to be the crew to beat them,” Remi looked upset, because she been working hard for years and still came in second.

“Hey Blu, I’m about to go to the dance floor and fight for a spot!” Ryder yelled, from the door. I gave him the thumbs up

The crew and I went to the open door to look at the crowd waiting for us. We could see and hear everyone that was here. I felt like someone was behind me, so I turned around.

“Damn, an excuse me would be nice. You don’t have to be all up in my damn space,” I vented, and then I realized it was Ski. Dang, all well.

“Damn, I’m sorry mami I didn’t mean to brush up against you. I was trying to look out there, just like everyone else. My name is Skie.”

“I know who you are, Skie. My crew will be battling against yours and you happen to be the team to beat. Watch out, I’m coming for your title,” I said, and walked away. I couldn’t stand that close to her. My heart started to beat fast, and she made me horny. I needed to focus, so I excused myself.

Ryder

I found my way to the front where the dance floor was. I loved coming to support Blu. She was my best friend and biggest cheerleader, so it wasn’t nothing to come and support her passion. Yet, I was also keep a secret from my best friend. I found some papers in my father’s office. I wasn’t sure if it was my best friend, Blu on the birth certificate, but if it was, it meant she was my sister. But, I know one thing and it’s that my father’s keeping huge secret and I’m going to find out what it is.

Everybody came to the dance battles. I found my basketball team, and dapped everyone up. A lot of people always end up hooking up or a fight broke out. This was the spot to be on the weekends. I’m ranting and raving and shit, and I didn’t even introduce myself. I’m Ryder, and I stand 6’5, muscular and can get any bitch I want. But, I didn’t want any hoe, so I was focused on my basketball. I have a promising career in the future for the NBA, and I couldn’t wait. I didn’t need any females clouding my judgment. Once they here those three letters, babies pop up, and women come out the wood work confessing their love for you. That wasn’t going to be me, and I was serious about that.

Another thing that people didn’t know was, my father ran one of the biggest Cartels in the United States. He taught me everything about the family business, but I didn’t care. I wanted to be a ball player, not a dope boy. My father is Ryder Sr. So of course, I was his Jr. and named to take over his cartel when he stepped down. But, everyone knows my father as, Ghost. It was hilarious when Power came out, and the main character’s name was ghost. Yet, my father didn’t find that funny. That made him paranoid, and locked his business down ten times more. Nobody came in, and nobody came out. When you hear the name, Ghost, people got chills. It was rumored that he killed a lot of people. He ran the entire Florida, among other states. I didn’t go around bragging that my dad was Ghost. But, if you happened to see us together, you got the picture.

Me and Blu went back to kindergarten. She was more than a friend, but more like a sibling. So if what those papers say is true, it really would change much between us, well not me at least.

“Ryder, dog we killed that game didn’t we? We were all in sync. I can’t believe we are that much closer to taking the championship!” Midnight said.

I turned my attention to Midnight, but didn’t say anything. I didn’t like his ass at all, but never said anything. I liked to keep the peace of the team, so drama on the court was forbidden with me. He took Blu’s virginity, then threw her to the side like she wasn’t shit. I fought him, and made up for the sake of the tram. I looked up and saw Skie and her team were about to come out. They had on short shorts with crop tops and mask on. I couldn’t lie and say I wasn’t licking my lips. The lights went out and then the beat dropped. Black Illusion came running out, getting the crowd hype. Then ‘Only’ by Nicki Minaj ft. Lil Wayne and Drake blasted through the speakers.

“Yo, I never fucked Wayne, I never fucked Drake

All my life, man, fuck’s sake

If I did I did a menage with 'em

And let 'em eat my ass like a cupcake

My man full, he just ate, I don't duck nobody but tape

Yeah, that was a set up for a punchline on duct tape

Worried bout if my butt’s fake

Worried ‘bout John’s singing us Drake

These girls are my sons, John and Kate plus eight

When I walk in, sit up straight, I don't give a fuck if I was late

Dealing with my man on a G5 is my idea of an update

Hut one, hut two, big titties, big butt too

Fuck with them real niggas who don't tell niggas what they up to

Had to show bitches where the top is, ring finger where the rock is

These hoes couldn’t test me even if their name was pop quiz

Bad bitches who I fuck with, mad bitches we don't fuck with

I don't fuck with them chickens unless they last name is cutlet

Let it soak in, like seasonin’

And tell ‘em, tell ‘em blow me, Lance Stephenson.”

The light flicker, and the music change. Blu and her crew came out with skinny jeans, plaid shirts tied around their wasit, snapbacks and white tank tops. The beat to ‘Love More’ by Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj played, and the crowd went wild. Then the next thing you know the beat changes and Blu comes out with her crew, wearing skinny jeans, plaid shirts tied around there waists, snapbacks and white tank tops on. The beat to ‘Love More’ by Chris Brown ft. Nicki Minaj plays and the crowd goes wild.

“'Til we get it

I'm a get it

'Til we get it

              Til we get it

I'm a get it

'Til we get it

You say all you need is consistent love

When I try I swear it's never enough

I messed up

Maybe this thing here just ain't meant for us

Baby you let go

And I'll pull you back

I let go

You ain't having that

We do it like rock stars

Sexing in my hotel room

And we so loud

Higher than a smoke cloud

Shades on doing 95 with the top down

I might sound crazy

Cause we be going back and forth

One minute I hate you

Then I love you

That's how it is”
