Lifting his head, he stroked his fingers over her fur. “If you want to turn back you need to envision yourself, work a piece at a time until you find your trigger. Think hair, eyes, lips, hands and so on until it happens, it will always be the same, love, so once you find it, just never forget it or you’ll have to go through the list again.”

She weakly nodded and licked at his hand even as her mind began to go over her features as only an artist would view them. Finally she found it. She found it in the color of her hair, thought about her hair as it lay against Kristof’s chest and that became her trigger. She didn’t move when she shifted back, simply lay there naked and panting in his lap until finally she said, “I think we will sleep here, Kris, because I don’t have the energy to move.”

“I wasn’t planning on making you move any time soon,” he murmured easing them both around so they were laying on their sides. Pulling the sheet and heavier blanket up over them both he cuddled her close. “Just sleep, love, I’ll be here the whole time.”

“I love you, Kristof,” she whispered again and closed her eyes. Her front to the fireplace and back heated by his front. Closing her eyes she was asleep before she had really thought she would be.

With one ear peeled to the sounds his mate was making as she wandered the house, seeing it anew through the eyes of the Wolf, Kristof made them a huge breakfast. He’d pulled out lots of food but knew that, after all she’d been through, she’d easily eat it all if not more.

“Kris.” She came in with a towel wiping paint from her hands. “God that smells good.” Moving up behind him she wrapped one hand around his middle and squeezed before kissing the side of his neck. “I was just painting, I would like for you to see it after we have our meal.”

Licking his thumb of the hollandaise, he grinned. “You ready to eat or do you need more time?” he asked leaning in to kiss her lightly. “I can put most of this on hold for about fifteen if you need to do anything else.”

“Nope, I’m starving now, Kristof, and am more than ready to eat now.” She nibbled at his ear again even as her hands moved to brace against his chest happily and squeeze. “It’s a beautiful day, Kris, after we finish eating and cleaning up, why don’t you and I go for a walk?”

“Probably a good idea,” he told her softly. “I want to check on a couple of the females, they are close to having their pups and haven’t been very mobile.” Pulling out plates, he started to create the eggs benedict before adding the toast, bacon and fruit salad. Passing her a plate, he waited for her to take it. “Sit and eat, love.”

She took the plate and then her seat. “When we get pregnant will you dote on me like this?” she asked with a grin as she picked up a slice of bacon and began to chew it slowly.

Joining her he grinned at her as he straddled the chair. “Of course I’ll dote on you, love, it’s my right to care for my mate while she is doing her part to bring our family into being. Besides, it will make me feel slightly less guilty when it comes to the day you give birth and call me all sorts of evil and nasty names since I’ll know I was none of those things.” He gave her an angelic smile, or tried.

“That’s a very good thing, Kris.” She leaned back and grabbed one of the sausage links and ate quietly while watching him, grinning as she added, “Because it’s a good possibility that I’m pregnant now.”

“I know,” he said with a shrug and then laughed at her offended look. “What? Beyond the fact that I knew you were in heat, I still have scars I’m wearing proudly proclaiming that fact, love, but I also know it’s entirely possible. If you are it is all good, if not, we just keep on trying until we get it right. And gods, I do love to try.”

She flushed at his mention of her heat and grumbled something under her breath before adding, “I love to try, too. I say even if we are pregnant we continue to try as much as possible.” There was only a moment’s pause before, “Are you sure you would be all right with it?” She knew he still worried about carrying the Rogue gene and it worried her for him.

Nodding, he shrugged. “We either are or aren’t, Courtney,” he said softly. “The only way to ensure we don’t is rather permanent and has me breaking out in a cold sweat thinking on it,” a shudder wracked his body at the mere thought of what all men feared, vasectomy. “It will always be a concern, love. I won’t deny that and yeah, I’m still more than a little freaked that it will pass through to our children, but if we are to have kids it’s either natural or we adopt. It’s up to you, love, whatever your choice is I’m with you all the way.”

“Well that’s an easy choice, Kristof,” she told him simply and put down the fork of eggs she had. “I want to carry our child, I want to feel him or her moving inside of me and I want to experience bringing them into this world.” Reaching out, she touched his hand and smiled. “I never want you to do anything that will take that away from us forever, Kris, we will have our own children and we will love them and keep them safe. If the gene passes, we will just have to have a cure for it by then for our children.”

Like they’d had much luck so far, but he knew they were on the right trail. Nodding, he leaned into her and kissed her softly. “We’ll figure it out, love,” he promised to her. Kissing her once more, he sat back and began to eat again.

“I know that we will and it’s not a hundred percent that I’m pregnant, but I have to admit that I haven’t had a menses since we got together, so yeah, I’m almost positive that we are pregnant.” Which made her so very happy. To think that she might even now be pregnant with Kristof’s child.

Reaching out he wrapped his arm around her shoulders to pull her closer and kissed her cheek. “If it’s meant to be it will be, love,” he murmured, hugging her tight for a moment. He’d be lying if he didn’t admit he liked the idea of being a daddy, because it actually did give him a bit of a thrill.

“We could always run a pregnancy blood panel.” It’s not like they didn’t have the equipment or knowledge. “Then we would know for certain and we could plan accordingly?”

Wrinkling his nose, Kris nodded. “We could, I suppose,” he murmured, hating the idea of doing something out of the norm. True, they had the knowledge and equipment to achieve it, but he really hated doing things that put them above and beyond the others of their family. “Or we could just wait and go to the doctor like every other couple out there.”

She kissed the side of his neck and nipped at his ear with her teeth gently. “You know I had a feeling that you would feel that way so I got in touch with Desmonda’s doctor and made us an appointment.” She nuzzled against his neck and breathed him in. “So that’s what we are doing tomorrow afternoon so don’t make any plans.”

Smiling softly, he nodded. “Yes ma’am,” he murmured softly to her, sliding his hand up and down her back. “Are you going somewhere with this, love?” he asked with a small groan of need as her body rubbed against his.

“I hope either the bedroom.” She smirked as she pulled back and added, “Or the table, either way would really suit me as long as you bury yourself inside of me very, very soon, Kristof.”

Growling softly at her words, he pulled her even closer and, pushing the dishes down the length of the table, uncaring when some skidded off, he laid her out. Leaning over her, he kissed her his hands moving over her to push and pull at her clothing.

Courtney’s hands worked on him as quickly as she could, sliding the belt out of the loops before freeing him and with a shuddering moan took him into her hands and gasped, “Gods, I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who was hurting.” He was hot and hard, very hard and deliciously beautiful to her.

His whole body shuddered as she touched him. “Always need you, constant hurt,” he bit out, the words broken and not making a lot of sense. When she was naked he buried his face between her breasts and inhaled her scent, his hands stroking her to a higher pitched fever of need.

“I need you inside of me,” she moaned as she led him to her hot entrance and stroked him eagerly. “Please, Kris, I ache right now, please,” she demanded again simply.

Pushing against her wet heat, he drove into her as she released him finally. Growling softly, he nipped at her soft skin. Lifting her hips into his hands, he pulled out and plunged back into her over and over again. Licking up her skin slowly he nuzzled at her throat.

Her long limbs wrapped around him and held him close as she moved with him. Pleasure raced through her with each lick and nip that he gave her. “Kris.” She was far too close far too fast but she knew that it was because of the moment, because of the second in time that they were sharing, the wildness of the night.

Pumping into her hard and fast, finesse long gone, the table creaking under their weight, he bit her shoulder lightly before swirling his tongue over the sting. “Courtney,” he growled softly as he felt his orgasm coming hard and fast.

Suddenly her legs tightened around him, squeezed hard even as she arched up into him with a cry of pleasure catching in the back of her throat. She came so hard and so fast that she honestly had forgotten to breathe in her pleasure.

Yelling her name as he was pulled over and into the void with her, Kristof shuddered as he came. Collapsing over her, he braced an elbow on the table to keep from crushing her as he let his head fall to rest on her shoulder.

Courtney could only gasp for air as she lay there under Kris, she was on the brink of passing out from the force of her orgasm but held on, held onto him. Finally she was able to pull enough air into her lungs to whisper, “That was incredible.”

Sliding his hands under her he lifted her up and shifted to sit in his chair with her draped over his lap. “We so need to do this at more meals,” he murmured with a grin, his hands rubbing up and down her back.

“I couldn’t agree more,” she said as she melted against him and simply lay there in his lap limp and loose. “It makes it so much easier to digest the food when we do something like this.” Leaning back, she smirked. “I think that if everyone did this we would have a world filled with happy, skinny people.” Because gods knew it wore out a ton of calories and also made her so incredibly happy.

Nibbling on her shoulder gently, he smiled at her words. “Darling, if we keep up this pace we will need to get more food or we’ll be so damned skinny we’ll blow away in the winds.”

Courtney laughed and nodded. “Don’t I know it, love.” Leaning in she nipped at his jaw and then said, “Gods I love you, Kris. I love the way you feel inside of me, the way that we just can’t seem to keep our hands off each other. I love it.”

“That’s a good thing remember,” he pointed out lifting his head but keeping his hands moving. “We have longer lives than humans and if the fires went out too quickly it would be a very boring life,” he told her softly. Kissing her lips gently he sucked on her lower lip for a moment. “We should get up and dressed and go check on our pack love.”

“Yes, we likely should, shouldn’t we?” She smiled and leaned up, licking and kissing his chin. “I will follow you darling, up we go or else I’m going to simply attack you all over again.”

Growling at her he nibbled on her throat as he stood with her and, lifting her free, let her slide down his body until her feet met the floor. “You say that like it’s a bad thing, love, but you attacking me could never be a bad thing, not in the least,” he teased with a smile.

“Decisions, decisions,” she said with a smile. “Gods I need you, Kris. Darn it all.” They needed to go and check on the pack. “Run with me, let our wolves mate, Kris?” she asked softly. “Because she’s clawing for her mate and darn it I need to be with you. Now.”

Stopping, he looked at her and then, making the decision on the spur of the moment, he took her hand and pulled her toward the door. Opening it, he led her outside and, with a quick kiss, let the change wrap around him until he stood on foot paws before her.

She smiled and nodded. “Love you, too.” Lifting her face to the wind, she allowed the shift to move over her and what began as a gasp ended in a howl as her much smaller form stood side-by-furry-four-footed-side by her Wolf mate.

Huffing a breath at her, Kristof moved closer to rub against her body, his muzzle brushing hers gently to show his concern for her. Looking into her eyes he tipped his head asking if she still wanted to continue on or to turn back.

Her answer came as she trotted from the porch and toward the woods, her long muzzle looking back at him as she did so. Tail in the air, she wagged it several times, waiting.

Giving her a short bark he jumped off the deck and trotted over to her. Snapping his teeth at her playfully, he took off at a faster pace through the trees on the way to find the pack and ensure that all was well with them.

Hours later they lay in the too tall grass and she smiled, her now human hand caressing his bare chest gently. “Gods, Kris, that was amazing.”

He rumbled his agreement, supremely pleased with himself and his mate. Capturing her hand he lifted it so he could kiss her inner wrist. “Yes you were, my love,” he murmured pulling her closer and dropping a kiss on the top of her head.

“I think that our loving while we are in Wolf form should carry a warning label.” She shivered and nipped at his chest. “Because my gods.” It had been incredible, to have him so deep inside of her, so much a part of her in their animal forms.

“I’m pretty sure I saw one on your bottom,” he teased sliding his hand down to massage that particular portion of her body. “But I ended up distracted so I didn’t bother to read it.” He chuckled at her soft sound.
