“Having a job interview.” She smiles and
turns to the short, middle-aged man standing in front of her, a
little too close for my liking. “This is Mike, the owner of the
restaurant. He’s been showing me around. Mike, this is my
boyfriend’s best friend, Adam.”

I force myself not to cringe at her
definition of our relationship, or the lack thereof, but it’s
probably for her own good that she mentions the existence of a
boyfriend to keep Mike and the other interested future-colleagues
away.

Mikes gives me the fuck-off glare, mirroring
my own look for him, and tries to shake my hand as firmly as he can
to get me to back off, but he doesn’t know I’m the master of
painful handshakes. Apparently, more so when it comes to Taylor,
because Mike’s cheeks flash red, and he yanks his hand away.

“I’m at the table over there. Join me when
you are finished with your interview.”
And I don’t care if I
have to work the night away to make up for the time I’ll lose by
having you with me.

She nods, giving me another beautiful grin,
gazing at me under her lashes, and I leave before my cock can spurt
out my boiling lust for her.

I can’t work on the spreadsheet or eat, while
waiting anxiously for Taylor’s interview to be over. Honestly, I’m
ready to ditch my afternoon meeting if Taylor shows even the
slightest bit of tendency to spend the afternoon with me. I scroll
the spreadsheet up and down, without actually looking at the data
on it, and play with the French fries on my plate. When finally
Taylor shows up, I stand to pull the chair for her, but she’s
quicker than I am and sits across from my chair.

“Are you hungry? Have you had lunch? Shall I
ask for a drink for you?” I inquire, feeling nervous like a small
child.

“No, thanks. I’ll just eat some of your fries
if you don’t mind.”

I push my entire plate toward her. My stomach
is too messed up to be able to process any food, anyway. She
nibbles a fry, then another one, and another one. God, I could
watch her eat the entire day and wouldn’t get bored.

“So, how was the interview? Are you getting
the job?”

She purses her lips, shrugs her shoulder, and
shakes her head. “I’m not sure I’ll get it. Mike thinks I’m too
inexperienced to work as a server. He wants me to work in the
kitchen for a while.”

“Not to be rude or anything, but you don’t
need more experience than a day’s work of waiting tables to have
sufficient qualifications for it.” Most likely, Mike works in the
kitchen and wants to have her close, but I’d rather keep that guess
to myself.

“That was my thought, too, when I applied for
the job,” she says and drops a full-sized fry into her mouth,
making me gawk at her beautiful lips. I could violate that mouth in
a hundred different ways, if she’d let me.

I take a sip from my drink, unable to do
anything else to take my eyes away from her lips.

“I guess I’ll have to continue looking for
another job,” she says.

“What happened to your other job? You said
you worked part-time.”

“Yeah. That’s right. I got fired. My boss’
wife didn’t think I was right for a simple copy and print
task.”

“Oh, I see. She caught her husband checking
you out.”

She blushes and covers her mouth with her
hand as she giggles. “I don’t know. Maybe.”

“So, you’re unemployed and don’t want to work
in the kitchen as Mike wants you to. Did I get it right?”

She nods and swallows another fry. Good thing
I didn’t eat them. From the speed she’s eating with, she looks like
she could finish a second plate. I wave at the waitress and ask for
another order of fries and a soda, despite Taylor’s refusal. Yet,
when the second plate comes, she digs into it without waiting for
the fries to cool down.

“Have you talked to Jack about it?” I
ask.

“No way. He’ll most likely open a saving
account under my name first thing in the morning and deposit money
enough to cover my entire life’s expenses. I don’t want his money.
I can do this by myself.”

As if I didn’t like her appearance, now her
personality has gotten my full attention, too. I never wanted to
have anything to do with Pat’s money, either. “You don’t even want
a little boost to find a job?”

“What kind of boost are we talking about?”
She leans back at her chair and crosses her arms across her chest.
Her arms push her already big boobs up, and I force myself not to
look down at them for longer than a fraction of a second.

“A friend of mine recently opened up a café
over at Veteran, about half a mile away from here. If you want, I
can give him a call and ask if he needs extra help. I’m sure he
won’t say no to me.”

“Would you do that? I swear I’m very
hardworking, reliable, and—”

I cut her off, not enjoying the way she’s
trying to prove herself to me. If anything, I should prove my
qualities to her. “Don’t worry. Consider yourself hired. I’ll call
him in a minute.”

“Really? Thank you.”

“Well, since I’ll give my word for you, I’d
like to know a few simple facts about you.” I smile to convey my
playfulness.

“Oh, like what?” She squints, her beautiful
eyes seizing me up and down, and I feel like hot wax spilling all
over at the places her gaze glide.

“Like your favorite color.”

“That one is easy. The color of gold. I love
how it shines and stands out among all the other colors.”

“Just like you,” slips out of my mouth before
my brain can interfere.

She raises an eyebrow, and her eyes go for
another round of once-over. “You think so?”

“Well, considering your great looks, I don’t
need to think so. It’s a clear fact.”

She blushes, her cheeks turning into a nice
shade of pink.

Now would be the right time to start worrying
about the fact that I’m so mesmerized by her that I can’t pull my
eyes away from her even for a second. But somehow, all I can feel
is the need to absorb all the beauty and sexiness oozing out of
her. “Your favorite movie?”

“That’s a hard one to answer. I have a new
favorite every year.”

“Okay, what this year’s favorite?”

“Sex and the city.”

“Seriously?” Thank god, she has a flaw.

She nods and sips from the straw. Shit, I
wish she had more imperfections to distract me from those full lips
surrounding the thin stick. Now I have a vivid fantasy of her lips
sucking my cock.

“Your favorite song?”

“Sinatra’s I got you under my skin.”

“Nice. Favorite food?”

“Anything that’s cooked with love.”

“Fries don’t have to be cooked with love, I
suppose.”

A wide smile reveals her pearl-white teeth.
“Yeah, good observation.”

“Tell me a deep secret,” I say.

She drops the straw and licks her lips. I
have to turn my head to the side and inhale deeply, so I can keep
myself from launching my mouth onto hers.

“I don’t have any deep secrets, but I can
share just one tiny secret with you.”

“I’m all ears.” I couldn’t have been anything
else even if I wanted.

“Pat Carter is lucky to have you as her
boyfriend.”

“That’s not a secret.”

“Oh, okay.
I think
Pat Carter is lucky
to have you as her boyfriend.”

I roll my eyes and laugh. “You’re just
playing with words. But anyway, I’ll accept it if you explain why
you think so. And please don’t tell me she’s lucky because I’ve got
a generous heart.”

“I was gonna say exactly that.”

“Find another reason.”

She brings her forefinger over her mouth and
taps it against her lips, while a coy grin stretches her lips. I’m
dying to know what she’s going to say, but looking at her without
any limitations while waiting for her answer is definitely more
thrilling. “Okay, I’ll be completely honest. Are you ready for it?”
I nod, and she continues, “I think you’re way more attractive than
she is. I mean she’s a beautiful woman, but you should be playing
in a completely different league.”

My jaw drops, and she probably has a full
view of my tonsils. I’ve never expected such a direct reply from a
woman, much less from Taylor. Is she flirting with me? If she is,
indeed, showing interest in me in that sense, then I don’t know how
to react. Of course, I know how to react; just tell her how
unbelievably sexy and beautiful I think she is. But I don’t want to
scare her off. “You’re just toying with me.”

She laughs like she hasn’t laughed ever
before in her life, banging her hands on her knees, and her body
shaking with her loud giggles. “Oh, my. You should have seen your
face. I’ve always wanted to pull a prank like this on a man but
never got the chance.”

“You have a weird sense of humor.”

“Another correct observation. You’re very
perceptive,” she says, struggling to keep her mouth closed between
her laughs. “Sorry. You both are gorgeous people. I just… I’m
sorry. It was silly of me.”

“I’m glad I’ve provided you with some
entertainment.”

“I’m really sorry.” She sips from her soda.
“How about you? Do you think Jack is way more attractive than I
am?”

Isn’t the answer clear? I shake my head. “No,
just the other way around.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“You’re saying it not to be rude. Or, you
want to pull my prank on me.”

I shake my head again, keeping my face
serious while staring at her lips pointedly. If only she knew how
she affected my body, my mind…

She glances at her watch, I think as an
excuse to escape the direction our conversation is heading, and
rightly so. Or else my next confession will be how much I desire
her to ride me in my car until we’re spent.

“I have a class in half an hour,” she says.
“I should get going. Will you give me the address of your friend’s
café, so I can check it out and leave my application in the
afternoon?”

“Sure.” I jot down the address on a piece of
napkin and hand it to her, making sure to touch her skin, as she
takes the napkin out of my hand. I hear her gasp at the brief touch
of our hands but don’t look up at her face so as not to disturb her
more than I already have. “I’ll call him in a minute and let him
know about your qualifications.”

“Thanks. A lot.” She stands, grabbing the
napkin tightly inside her hand, and turns toward the door. I watch
in awe as she goes, and can’t take my eyes from the door for
several minutes.

She’s got me spellbound and drooling. And now
she knows it.

CHAPTER 14 - ADAM

I’m forced to a pool party Jack’s jackass
cousin is giving in Malibu. Brad is a spoilt freshman, who thinks
of nothing but football and banging girls. More than a few times
when he came to LA to visit Jack, I had to interfere with my fists
to keep him away from the twins.

I arrive half an hour later than Jack said
he’d arrive with Taylor, in an attempt to shorten the torture of
being around Brad. Girls in skimpy bikinis, some even topless, are
playing around and inside the pool, giggling, and swimming the
afternoon away. Of course, Brad is in the middle of the action,
managing to tug five girls under his long arms. I shake my head
disapprovingly and set about locating Jack.

I find him with Taylor, eating hot dogs
beside the barbecue stand. He’s wearing khaki shorts only, and his
normally pale skin is already covered with red spots of sunburn.
Though I’m darker skinned, I keep my shirt on. Not to protect
myself from the sun’s rays, but from the drunken girls that are
already giving me the
‘let’s fuck’
look. One-night stands
have never been my thing, not that I can get my cock hard enough to
support some relieving friction with any girl but Taylor. Even if I
could, I would still steer clear of any girl because of Pat,
although things are still shaky between us.

“Hey, dude.” Jack grabs my hand for a brief
bro-hug. “I thought you’d never come.”

“How could I miss it?” I reply sarcastically,
nodding briefly to Taylor to greet her. Not looking at her for more
than five seconds is my only method of remaining immune to her
beauty, even though I’ll appear as a pathetic asshole for ignoring
her. She’s wearing a t-shirt and no skirt or shorts to cover her
legs. I’m assuming she’s sporting a bikini underneath and hope she
won’t take off that t-shirt when I’m around.

“Hello, Adam,” she says, her musical voice
giving me shivers. “I’ll get something to drink. Do you guys want
anything?”

“No, I’m good.” I shake my head, my eyes
fixed on Jack. He asks for a lager, and she leaves us alone. It
takes a mighty strength not to stare at her as she walks away.

Jack inhales and exhales deeply, shakes his
hands in the air, and then wipes them on his shorts.

“What’s going on?” I ask, curious about his
jumpiness.

He shifts his weight from one leg to another
as if exercising. “I’m nervous. Very nervous, actually. I haven’t
been this nervous for… for… hell, I don’t remember the last time
I’ve been this nervous.”

I scowl. “Why?”

“We’re gonna do it tonight.” He leans in to
my ear and lowers his voice. “And the thing that eats my fucking
nerves is that she’s a virgin.”

Taylor isn’t just a beautiful girl, but
untouched and pure like spring water, too? She hasn’t let any other
cocksucker take advantage of all the mind-blowing beauty all this
time and is going to lose it tonight?

Fuck me in the ear and every possible
opening in my body!

“TMI, bro. Keep that shit for yourself. I
don’t want to hear anything about it.”

“TMI?” Jack glowers at me. “You recited to me
practically everything that happened between you and Pat in your
first year. I know all the moles on her body, the scar below her
left breast, the size of her nipples. Fuck, I even know she’s
blonde everywhere, even though I haven’t seen anything of her. I
swear it took me months to block out the image of her fingering
herself in your office. You gave some nasty, vivid descriptions of
it, remember? Now you can’t listen to me stating a simple fact
about my girl?”
