His voice lowered as his eyes ran over her voluptuous curves. “I molded your body like a sculptor molds clay until you were able to satisfy my…considerable needs.”

“Angel…” Savannah forgot about everything and everyone but him.

He leaned closer and whispered in her ear. “Did you even use protection when you fucked him?” Savannah’s eyes flew to his. "Why would you go to another man, Savannah?”

She shook her head and leaned against him weakly. “He…he forced me! He raped me!” The lie came out in a whispered rush as she grasped the front of his shirt with desperate fingers. “I didn’t want to, Angel! You have to know that!”

Angel’s expression never changed as he continued to study her. Such a beautiful liar. “He forced you?”

“Yes!
Yes
! You have to know I would never sleep with another man willingly! You mean everything to me, Angelo!”

And he did.

Savannah wanted for nothing with this man. She didn’t understand what had possessed her to be so stupid, but she didn’t want to lose him or the life he provided for her. Yes, he was dangerous and feared by many, but he adored her and freely indulged her every whim.

Angel’s face erupted in fury as he thought about the pictures he had in his possession of Savannah and her lover. His hazel eyes darkened as the light brown pigments overtook the specs of green, but his voice remained deceptively calm.

“I was the first man you ever slept with, the only man you’d ever been with. And it was supposed to have remained that way until
I
decided differently. It wasn’t for you to decide you wanted to try out another man’s dick to satisfy your curiosity.”

Savannah’s wide eyes reflected her shock because that was a direct quote of what she’d confided to her friend Arielle, one of the few friends she had outside of the mansion. The smile Angel directed at her sent chills up and down her spine.

“That’s right, Arielle told me. It took a little…persuasion on my part to get her to freely divulge everything, but she did. And believe me, she gave me every single detail.”

Chapter 2

Angel circled around until he stood behind her. “Let me ask you a question. If the first time you slept with him was so unsatisfying, why did you go back tonight and have sex with him again?”

Savannah felt lightheaded when she realized Arielle truly had told him everything. She worked her mouth, but no words came out.

“Answer me!”

She screamed and jumped as Angel roared the demand. The calm indulgence suddenly left his voice and the undertones of his mother's West Indian dialect crept into his voice the way it had a tendency to do when he was beyond furious.

“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” she cried.

Angel took a deep breath in order to regain control of his anger. “Answer my question.”

Savannah forced her vocal cords to produce a sound and form words. “He said that he c-could make me feel better than you ever had. Angel, you're hardly ever around. I was bored and…I thought he l-loved me.”

He was silent for a moment before laughter burst out into the silent room. The sound was so jovial she almost missed the words he uttered under his breath. “You stupid little bitch.”

Angel’s amusement ended in a low chuckle. “You thought he loved you? Did it even cross your mind that maybe it had something to do with the money you spent on him? The clothes you bought him? The expensive gifts?”

Savannah heard the words he didn't verbalize; the money she spent on another man had been Angel's. She brought a hand up and covered her mouth. She knew Angel despised any signs of weakness, but his cruel toying was making her a nervous wreck. Whatever punishment he intended to dole out, she wished he'd do it and get it over with.

“Savannah, what's the one thing I asked of you?”

“That I show you complete loyalty.”

“And you were never to do what?”

“Let another man t-touch me.” It became glaringly obvious to Savannah that her lack of judgment had caused her to commit a grave error. She’d been under the mistaken impression that she was irreplaceable.

Spinning around to face Angel, she threw herself to the floor, grabbing him around his legs. “I’ll do anything you want. I'll make it up to you.” She reached up and fumbled to unzip his pants. “I'll make you feel so good. I promise…”

She started to unbuckle his belt, but with a nod of his chin Angel signaled to the man who’d brought Savannah into the room to get her. He looked at her with disgust clouding his face as he zipped his pants.

“You want to fuck so badly? You want to see what it feels like to be with other men?” He opened his arms wide to encompass everyone in the room. “I’ve always given you everything you’ve ever wanted, Savannah. I don’t want it to be said that I’m depriving you now. Fuck all you want.”

Understanding hit Savannah as her attention shifted from Angel to the men staring at her like a pack of hungry wolves who hadn't eaten in days. She started kicking and screaming, pummeling her fists against the unyielding chest of the man carrying her towards them, but it was no use.

“No!
Nooo
!
Angel!!

An older man watching from a corner of the room started towards the crowd of men with the intention of putting an end to the sick debauchery about to take place.

“Don’t.”

Angel's terse directive stopped him in his tracks. Oscar Munoz sent Angel a hard look of disapproval which was resolutely ignored. His men wouldn't let things go far, he'd given them their orders, but Savannah didn't need to know that. He wanted her scared shitless before she was thrown into the streets.

Angel glanced at Oscar and held back an impatient sigh. Oscar was his mentor and right hand man, had known and guided Angel for over twenty years. Oscar was the only person Angel trusted implicitly to have his back. Although he was older than Angel by almost two decades, the two men were extremely close, more like family, and like most families, there were times when they disagreed.

"Angel, you have to take some responsibility for this. You spoiled Savannah from the moment you brought her here. Your indulgence led her to believe she could get away with almost whatever she wanted. Don't do this."

“She did it to herself, Oscar. She's little more than a whore to me now, so she’s being treated like one.”

Ignoring Savannah’s cries, he turned around and walked out of the room, not bothering to look back. As far as he was concerned he was done.

Five a.m.

The continuous thumping of the treadmill kept a steady pace as Angel did his daily forty five minute run before hitting the weights. The early morning exercise always started his day off right and prepared his mind to deal with the challenges ahead.

His chest bare, the only article of clothing he wore was his black biker shorts and a pair of running shoes. The tendons in his thick arms and biceps tightened and contracted as he pumped them back and forth, and his muscular thighs kept a constant momentum which allowed his feet to pound the treadmill in solid, even steps. Throughout the workout, he barely broke a sweat.

Angel’s attention remained fixated on three flat screen televisions mounted on the wall opposite him as he tracked the Asian, European and North American Stock Markets. He cursed under his breath when he saw the pitiful return his current investments had yielded. Angel made a mental note to call his broker later this morning and light a fire under his ass. He was in the business of making money, not having it squandered away because of bad business decisions.

A feminine whine sounded from the bed behind him, indicating the noise from the treadmill and the television was disturbing her. Ignoring her obvious attempts to get his attention, Angel glanced at his watch and pressed the button on the console of the treadmill to speed up the pace. He constantly pushed himself to the limit, always determined to be faster. Better. Smarter.

It was one reason why he was still on top in this game. He didn’t plan on playing much longer, but until he bowed out, he was staying ahead of everyone else. There was always some young punk nipping at his heels determined to bring him down, make a name for himself, and take his spot. He knew the drill well because the young punk used to be him... only he’d succeeded. He couldn’t afford to slow his hustle and put his guard down. Any sign of weakness was a death wish.

“Baby, pleeeease. I’m trying to sleeeep…”

Whereas Carmen’s sexy Latin accent had aroused him last night, this morning the irritating whimper in her voice did little more than piss him off. Just for the hell of it, Angel turned up the volume on the televisions. Carmen knew not to complain again.

She'd been one of his women for years. Before Savannah, she had been his number one in the virtual harem of women who lived in his home. She hadn’t been happy when she learned she’d been dethroned. It was bad enough to lose the revered status she held, but to someone as young as Savannah? Carmen wasn't having it.

Angel remembered the first time he brought Savannah home with him. Carmen had spat out an entire litany of curses in Spanish when Angel informed her of the changes. He couldn’t understand everything she was saying, but the words he did interpret made him lose patience with her, quick.

“Angelo, you cannot be serious. You want to make this girl your
punta
? And on top of that, you expect me to step aside for her?”

Angel let her continue with her tirade while the other women stood in silence, listening and watching. No one dared talked to Angel like this but Carmen. She went from words of anger, to soft persuasion, and then finally outrage.

Angel may have been ruthless when it came to business, but he was lenient with his women…up to a point. And Carmen had just about reached her quota of bullshit.

“Carmen…” His voice started off quiet, but firm. “The decision’s been made. I didn’t come here to ask your permission or discuss it with you. You’ll do as I ask and take care of her.
Comprendes
?” Angel turned around to walk out of the room, not doubting for one moment that his orders would be carried out.

“I won’t, do you hear me?! I will not!”

Angel paused then stopped. He turned his head just enough to look at her from the corner of his eye.
