“How can I help but stare? You don’t think he’s noticed, do you?” she said, horrified at the thought he had caught her gawking at him.

“No. I think you have it covered. Now
he
doesn’t even try and hide what he is thinking. He just looks at you like you’re his next meal,” Shanna said, laughing.

“Well, I’m having dinner with him so I
might
be his next meal. What am I supposed to do?” she said, more irritated with herself for her lack of self-control.

“Honey, life is short and he’s hot. Go for it. I want to know all the details tomorrow so make sure and take notes. Pictures work as well.” At the horrified look on Kristen’s face, Shanna laughed. “I’m teasing you. But if you do get a hold of pictures…”

Logan could see the women talking and he knew it somehow involved him, especially with Kristen going adorably red in the face. He would love to know what she was thinking but he would never ask Shanna and violate the trust they had.

Instead, he sauntered over and decided to let them know he knew he was the subject of their conversation.

“Don’t let me interrupt the conversation,” he said, as they ceased talking when he came over. “If I was paranoid, I’d think you were talking about me.”

He started laughing at the look of mortification on Kristen’s face. Shanna joined him and Kristen stomped off.

“I’ll pick you up at seven, Kristen,” he said to her back.

She just went into her office without replying. Logan turned to Shanna.

“I have some things to take care of before our date tonight. If you could remind Kristen that I’ll pick her up at seven, I’d appreciate it.”

Shanna looked at him and nodded. “You could march in there and tell her yourself but you’re the boss.” She grinned. “I think she needs a night out. It would be good for her.
You’d
be good for her.” wasn’t

Logan was humbled and shaken a little by that.

*

Shanna walked into Kristen’s office.

“Mr. Hot Pants says he’ll pick you up at seven. Comprende?” Kristen barely paid attention—she was trying to see how she felt about everything—but Shanna understood and went back to her new desk and printed the flyers until it was time to go home.

“Good night, Kristen,” she said before she left.

“Good night, Shanna. Thank you for today. I really don’t know what I would do without you,” Kristen said to her. “I’m sorry about the Logan thing. He just annoys me.”

“I think if a man annoys you that much, something has to be there and you need to pursue it to see where it goes. He’s a good man, I can tell, and my man has confirmed it for me. The truth is, most people think he really was framed and he has a lot to be angry about, yet he still has a great attitude.”

“I think he is a good man, too. I’m not sure if we should get involved or not because of the center…but it may be too late to worry about that now.”

“Just have fun and listen to your heart and not your head. Well, not all the time,” Shanna said, and then she left Kristen to her thoughts.

It wasn’t her heart which she felt would betray her, but her body. It was like he owned it when he was near and she had no control. Maybe if they had sex she could get her control back. It wasn’t the most romantic notion but she couldn’t be a virgin forever and maybe love just wasn’t in the cards for her.

With this reasoning she left to get ready for her date. Why did she feel like a lamb being led to the slaughter? She was going willingly, however, and she had to stop being a baby about the whole thing. It was just a date, not a lifetime commitment or anything like that. Just a date. She repeated that to herself all the way home and while she bathed and dressed. Just a date.

Logan was at her door at seven sharp and she was ready. He didn’t seem like the kind of man to wait. She ignored the double entendre in that thought for the moment. She just wanted things to go smoothly so she could come back home in one piece.

“Ready, I see. How refreshing to know there are females out there capable of being on time,” he said with a slight smile.

“I’m professional if nothing else, and this is a business date, right?”

“No, it’s not and we both know it. This is extremely personal and I think you are just kidding yourself to think otherwise.”

Kristen didn’t know how to respond to his honesty. A part of her wanted to stay home and be the person she was now. Another part, and the one that won, wanted to go with him and never be the same again. As they walked out, she said goodbye to her old self and hello to a new life. She had decided..

Logan had brought the limo because he wanted a driver. He put up the privacy screen and started kissing her as soon as she got into the car.

“I have waited all day for this. Maybe longer.”

She kissed him back, unsure how to respond to his statement.

She loved his kisses even though she lost herself in them. Maybe that was the appeal to the whole thing; losing yourself in someone else and you don’t feel so alone anymore.

He didn’t give her time to think. He kissed her neck and touched her body through her clothing. He left absolutely wonderful paths of tingling heat everywhere he touched. A part of her wanted to take her clothes off so she could feel his hands on her skin but how could she tell him that? She didn’t think the back of a limo was an appropriate place to lose her virginity anyway.

They kissed and made out until they felt the car stop. He opened the door for her and helped her out. She blushed deeply when she saw the driver because she was pretty sure he knew what they had been doing in the back of the car.

*

When Logan saw her blush, he smiled. It had been so long since he had been around a woman who even knew what a blush was that he was intrigued. She was different but he had known that all along.

He led her to the dining room where food was already laid out for them. He really wasn’t hungry—not for food—but when you invited someone for dinner, you should at least have a bite or two.

He pulled the chair out for her and she sat down.

“The perfect gentleman, huh,” she said with a touch of sarcasm.

“You know I’m not a gentleman and I’m far from perfect,” he said and kissed her neck. When she made a soft sound in her throat, he started to forget dinner but held himself in check. She was doing strange things to his self-control.

He rounded the table to his chair and sat down. He handed her the platters of food and they ate chatting about the center but thinking about something else entirely. They both knew where this evening was going to end.

*

After dinner, he showed her around his home. Everything was immaculate. Not beautiful because the décor was masculine, but it did look pleasant and aesthetically perfect. When they got to his bedroom, it was every bit as spectacular as she’d expected for a man like him, from the marble Jacuzzi tub to the bed that could hold five or six people.

She looked at him when she saw the bed and blushed.

*

That blush was Logan’s undoing. The thoughts that made her blush were all he had to think about and he was lost. He yanked her to him.

“I can’t wait any longer, I’m sorry.” He picked her up and carried her to the bed.

He stripped her quickly. So quickly she had little time to agree or disagree. He stripped as quickly and then had to close his eyes at how blissful it felt to be with her, skin on skin.

*

Everywhere he touched left her feeling hot and wanting more. She looked at his body and it was more magnificent when he was stripped of his clothing. He was toned and muscled and she loved his dark complexion. He looked as if he was chiseled from stone. She looked at him and he seemed to be trying to gauge what she was thinking. Her gaze wandered over him and he looked at her drinking in every detail of her. His gaze even left her hot.

“Kristen, I want you to know I’m incapable of gentle words and gestures. If you don’t want this, stop me now.”

“I want you, too,” she said quietly, even though she wondered what his statement meant.

He placed himself between her knees and started kissing his way up her legs all the way up to the very center of her. There he stopped and his tongue gently tasted her. Kristen nearly bucked off the bed. It was so strange and so delicious and wonderful.  She wanted more.

When he licked and sucked on her clits, she went crazy. She was probably making loud, embarrassing noises but she had no idea and no space in her brain left for that. She was overtaken by sensation. His tongue lapped and pressed and she squirmed to get more of his hot mouth. She had never felt such pleasure, hadn’t known there was so much in that place except procreation and—she was babbling even inside her brain

He didn’t stop until she came in his mouth. Her first orgasm. He allowed her to feel all of it before he rose above her and put a condom on his hard cock. She was just coming to terms with the way she was feeling and the pleasure he had just given her when she felt him enter her. At first, she felt as if he would rip her apart but then her body took him in. Her body would always welcome him in, it seemed.

*

Logan couldn’t believe how tight she was. She had tasted delicious and now her pussy was the tightest he had ever felt. He slowly thrust upwards and then he heard her whimper. A different whimper.

The tightness was explained then. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

He knew he had to make this good for her. He started moving inside her. Slowly. Gently. He wanted to make her want this again.

*

As he continued moving inside her, Kristen could feel the pressure building. The sharp pinch she’d felt earlier when her hymen tore was no longer relevant; the pain was replaced with pleasure and want.

She moved beneath him and moaned into his ear.

*

Logan liked that moan. He liked this girl. He increased his tempo and then he felt her start to tense. She was going to have another orgasm. When she came, he could hold out no longer and he exploded inside her. He laid on her for a moment, and they both tried to catch their breaths. And then pulled her over on top of him.

“You were a virgin. You should have told me. I would have handled it differently. I would have tried harder to let you go.” But he knew it was a lie. From the first moment she had stood to see him at the prison, he had known he would have her.

*

Kristen felt a little awkward. “It’s okay. I knew what I was doing. You have nothing to feel guilty about.”

“It isn’t guilt I feel.” he said.

She wondered if she had pleased him. She wanted to know but didn’t know how to ask. She took a deep breath and asked anyway.

“Was it good for you? I mean, is it always that way? If so, I’ve been missing out.”

*

“Fortunately, it’s not always that way, or people would get no work done. That was a twenty on a scale of one to ten.” Logan couldn’t help smiling as she pulled her to him.

He had never held a woman after sex and he told himself it was only because she was a virgin and next time he would treat her the way he did the others, but he knew in his heart he was lying to himself.

She wasn’t like the others and she never would be. The fact that she might do this with someone else infuriated him and it was such a new emotion he didn’t know how to handle it properly.

“You will not do this with anyone else,” he said firmly. When he saw her face he softened his response a bit. “I don’t like the thought of it after we’ve just been together. I want you to be mine and mine alone until we are done.”

*

It didn’t escape Kristen that he hadn’t spoken of love or commitment. She belonged to him until he was done with her. She fought the tears because she had wanted this to be with someone who loved her but she’d known from the beginning what she was getting into, didn’t she? She wasn’t stupid. He had never made any references to love and devotion. She was a possession until he was tired of her.

“What happens when you are done with me?” she asked.

*

Logan could see the pain in her eyes and knew he had said all the wrong things. He’d been jealous of phantom men. He didn’t mean he could discard her so easily.

“I’m not sure if I’ll ever be done with you. Do you know how much I crave you? I have never wanted anyone the way I want you. I can’t tell you I’ll ever love you. I’m not sure I’m capable of love and I’m pretty sure dedication is out as well. But I’ll always tell you the truth and I’ll never mislead you or try and make this more than it is. I want you, Kristen, but is that enough for you?” he asked, and in his mind, he pleaded with her to say yes.

“I don’t think I could walk away now even if I wanted to.  I crave you, too. I want you to know I wanted this with you and I have always known you are not the type to propose or swear your undying love so any problems I have with this arrangement are mine. I want to see you. I want to do this with you again.”
