Liam smiles, “I like giving you your first. It’s only fair since you are my first girlfriend. The first girl I have ever cared about that’s not related to me.” He turns me around to dry my back. “I have never showered with anyone before.”
I’m not able to speak for fear of my voice cracking. Liam just admitted that he has feelings for me. I know it’s crazy and that I have only known him a few months, but I’m falling in love with him. I knew it was a risk. I can only hope that when he decides this relationship isn’t what he wants anymore that I will be able to bounce back from my shattered heart. I try to shake the negative thoughts away. Liam has never given me reason to think he will leave me, it’s just hard to believe that someone as gorgeous as him would decide to change his ways for a girl like me. I am going to embrace this relationship for as long as I have him and hope that it never ends.
I follow Liam out of the bathroom and watch as he makes his way to his dresser and starts getting dressed. I follow suit and place my duffle on the bed, to pull out the clothes that I packed for tomorrow. Liam walks up behind me and hugs me tight. “You need to bring more clothes to leave here babe, that way you will have options.” I look over my shoulder at him and smile.
I drop my towel and start getting dressed in my shorts and tank. My cell phone, that’s sitting on his dresser rings. “Can you answer that?” I ask Liam.
He picks up my phone swiping the screen. “Hello,” He pauses, listening to whoever it is. It could only be a handful of people, but my guess is Hailey. “No, Hales you called the right number. Allie’s right here, hold on a sec.” Liam walks back to the bed where I am still standing just finishing with my shorts. “It’s Hales, baby,” he says as he hands me my phone and drops a kiss on my temple.
“Hello.”
“OMG, baby, did I just hear my brother, the womanizer, call you baby?” She is screaming into the phone. Liam is still standing beside me and can hear every word. He laughs out loud and hollers back.
“You’re damn right I did!”
“Did you hear that?” I ask her.
“Yes, holy fucking shit! He’s whipped and it’s only been a day. Props to you my friend.”
“Hailey, that’s just crazy,” I try to reason with her.
I feel Liam’s breath, hot on my other ear, “Actually it’s not. You own me, beautiful girl.”
I am speechless, I can hear Hales saying my name but I can’t respond I am staring at Liam who is now standing in front of me. He gently takes the phone from my hand.
“Hey Hales, no she’s fine, I think I just stunned her speechless,” he says to her.
Liam shrugs like Hailey can see him. “I just told her that me being whipped isn’t crazy.” He smiles at me, an affectionate smile that resembles love? No that couldn’t be, could it? “Then I told her that she owns me,” Liam tells her like it is yesterday’s news. “Anyway listen, Allie and I are just going to hang out here tonight, Aiden and a few of the guys are coming over to play cards and watch movies. Why don’t you come on over? You can try out the new futon I bought for you today.”
I can only assume Hailey is again questioning his futon purchase. “I want Allison with me, always and I needed to make sure that my little sister also has a comfortable place to sleep that does not include you shacking up with Aiden, we discussed this earlier today. Listen, Allie is spending the night and she packed a bag but needs more clothes can you bring her another outfit for tomorrow? Great, thanks, see you soon.” He sets my phone back on his dresser.
I smile at him, “I guess we’re staying in.”
He places his hands on my hips. “I really just want to hang out with you, but we can do anything you want. Hales would have ended up here anyway.”
I embrace my arms around his waist and lay my head on his chest. “It actually sounds great.” I peer up at him, “I just want to be with you.”
Liam kisses the top of my head. “Let’s go get you some food.” We make our way to the kitchen to see Aiden standing with the refrigerator door hanging open.
He turns to face us and smiles. “Allison, how much do you love me?” he asks. I feel Liam tense beside me as he draws me tighter into his side.
“What do you want?” I ask him snaking my arm around Liam’s waist. I can tell by the tone of his voice he wants something.
“I’m hoping that maybe you might possibly want to make us some of your famous enchiladas?” he asks sweetly batting his eye lashes at me.
I shrug, “Sure, if you go to the store and get what we need”
“Yes! Liam, man you don’t know what heaven is until you’ve had her enchiladas, they are the bomb!”
Liam looks down at me. “Actually I think I do,” he says only loud enough for me to hear.
Aiden leaves for the store so Liam and I cuddle up on the couch to watch some TV. We end up watching Wedding Crashers on HBO. The last thing I remember is lying down on the couch with Liam bound tight in his arms.
I wake up to someone brushing a piece of hair behind my ear. I open my eyes to see Liam watching me. I am curled up tight against his chest. “Hey beautiful.” I blush.
“Hey,” I start to pull away but Liam stops me.
“I’m not ready to let you go,” he whispers as he runs his fingers down my cheek. I hear voices in the kitchen, voices I don’t recognize.
“What time is it?” I ask him
“It’s a little after eight.” This time I do jump up.
“Shit! I was supposed to make enchiladas. People are already here?” It comes out as a question but I already know the answer from the voices and commotion in the kitchen.
“Yeah, Blitzen and a few of the guys got here about thirty minutes ago,” he shrugs.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?”
Liam pulls me off the couch, lacing his fingers with mine. “Because I was enjoying having you in my arms and wasn’t ready to give that up.”
I just shake my head. Liam has to be the sweetest guy on the planet. There is no way I can even fake being upset with him.
“Come on boyfriend, you can watch me make dinner.”
A huge grin spreads across his face as we make our way into the kitchen. We walk in to find Aiden, Hailey, Blitzen and the two guys from The Warehouse last night, Mike and Cole. Wow, was that really just last night. So much has happened since then.
“Hey sleepy head,” Hailey says to me.
“Hey,” I can feel my blush coming on. Did they all see us sleeping? Of course they did you have to pass the living room to get to the kitchen.
“What’s got you grinning like a mule with a mouth full of briars?” Blitzen asks Liam.
Liam draws me back into his chest and kisses right below my ear. “This beautiful girl just referred to me as her boyfriend for the first time.”
“Boyfriend,” Cole and Mike both say at the same time. Blitzen and Hailey don’t know the specifics but by the look on their faces they aren’t surprised.
Liam nods, “Yes, boys, I am officially off the market.”
They both started talking at all at once. I’m not sure who says what, but comments range from “Fuck me”, “holy shit” and “I’ll be damned”. Liam seems oblivious or just doesn’t to care about their shocked expressions.
“So,” Aiden says, obviously trying to break the ice. “Are you still planning on making enchiladas? I bought enough to triple the batch,” he winks at me.
“Yes, I will make you your enchiladas.” I sigh like it is a huge inconvenience but I have a smile on my face.
“Well, I brought the stuff to make a triple layer chocolate fudge cake. So you boys go do whatever it is that you do while us women slave in the kitchen for you.” Hailey ushers Aiden towards the living room.
All the guys except for Liam follow suit. “Um, that means you too, big brother,” Hailey chides him.
Liam has yet to let me go. “You need any help, baby?” he asks me, completely ignoring Hailey’s demands.
I shake my head no. “I’m good, I’ve made this a million times. Besides, Hales has got my back.”
Liam twists me in his arms and kisses me slow and sweet. “Let me know if you need anything,” then he turns and joins his friends in the living room.
I make my way out to the living room still sporting a goofy ass grin on my face. I can’t help it. Allison is mine after weeks of agonizing, she’s mine. I stop just outside the living room in the hallway. I know that as soon as I enter the living room, the boys are going to give me shit. Honestly, I could care less. I am more concerned that they will say something about Allison that will piss me off. I don’t want to punch any of my friends, but I will. I need a minute to get my shit together.
I walk into the room. “There he is Mr. Pussy whipped himself,” Blitzen says with a grin.
I walk behind the chair he is sitting in and slap the back of his head. “Watch your fucking mouth when you talk about me and my girl, fuckstick!” I hope that getting it out there early will prevent further outbreaks of their diarrhea mouths.
Cole speaks up. “So you have a girlfriend?”
“Yes,” I quip, not wanting to get into it with him.
“She seems like a cool chic, she’s hot as hell,” Mike adds.
I want to yell at him, but he’s right. Allison is hot. Instead, I glare at him and change the subject. Much to my relief they roll with it. “So, what are we playing?”
“Texas Hold em’,” Aiden responds dryly. He always wines about losing so much money. He so needs to work on his poker face.
We had just gotten through our first hand when Hales and Allison join us. There is only one extra chair without bringing in another from the kitchen and I am fine with that. Hailey sits in the chair next to Aiden as I tug Allison onto my lap and kiss her shoulder. She relaxes against my chest as I play my hand. Having Allison on my lap and here with my like this is a dream. I keep touching her. I have one arm slinked around her waist with my fingers sprayed out against her belly. The other is playing with her hair rubbing circles on her thighs; I can’t control it. This makes playing cards difficult. I keep laying my cards down to touch her. I can see the looks that my friends and sister are giving me, but frankly I don’t give a flying fuck. I am happier in this moment than I can ever remember.
Did I mention my girl is amazing?
After about twenty minutes, Allison tries to get up but I hold her still. She looks over her shoulder at me. “I have to take the enchiladas out of the oven,” she says with a laugh.
I nod. “You need help babe?” I ask her.
“No, Hales will help; we have to get the cake out too.” She replies in a soft voice only I can hear. I turn her in my lap and kiss her slow and sweet, an act that is quickly becoming my favorite past time. When I pull away, her face is flushed. I kiss her on the temple and remove my arms from her waist so that she can get up. Hailey sees her get up and follows suit.
I turn my head and watch her walk out of the room. When I turn back around I see my four friends doing the same. “Hey you fuckers, that’s my girl and my little sister, look away!”
Aiden chuckles, “Sorry man, no can do. Hales is hot, and since I just watched you paw at my sister for the past twenty minutes, I’m not going to turn my head when Hales gets up to walk out of the room.”
I glare at him, but don’t say anything. I know that he’s right. I just don’t want to admit it.
After dinner, which is delicious, we sit around and play our guitars and sing. We end the night watching movies. We start out watching The Hangover and end with Wrong Turn. Allison is curled up in a ball on my lap with her face buried in my shirt.
My night was perfect!
Halfway through Wrong Turn I realize that she has fallen asleep. I gently lift her up off the couch and turn to Hales. “Night, Hales.” I then look at Aiden and the rest of the guys and nodded as I carry Allison to my bedroom.
I know that I can trust the guys with Hales, besides Aiden will protect her just like I would. I know they were checking her out, Hales is beautiful but they would never touch her. They know that Aiden and I would beat the shit out of them if they did. Aiden and I have been inseparable for the past four years and he has grown close with Hales and my parents in that time. He sees Hales as a little sister, just like he does Allison; at least that’s what he tells me.
Once in my room, I gently lay Allison on the bed before going to close and lock the door. I return to the bed to see Allison curled up in a ball. I remove my football jersey out of the closet and begin to slowly undress her. I have her shorts off and am gently lifting her up to remove her top. I want her in my jersey. Caveman I know, but I still see the images of her wearing Aiden’s. I want to erase that memory from my mind. Allison is my girl. As I lift her up, her eyes open.
“Liam? What time is it?” she asks groggily.
“Shh baby, it’s late and you fell asleep. I’m just getting you changed for bed.” She sits up and lifts her arms over her head. I gently lift her tank and pulled it off. I go to place my jersey over her head but stop when I hear her soft voice.
“This too,” she is pulling at the strap of her bra. I nod because speech is not possible. I gently reach behind her and unsnap her bra and slide it over her shoulders. Allison bites her lip and I can tell that she is nervous. Hell, I was nervous, even after what she shared this afternoon. She lifts her arms and I slide her into my jersey. Again I am too overcome with emotion so speak. Instead I tug the covers back and motion for her to slide in.
