The Princes head rose slightly as he asked “North America?”
The man on the right gave a crooked grin. “Ready and anxious my lord.”
The Prince nodded then focused on one of the very few people in the room that didn’t have ivory skin. “South America, Africa, India and the Middle East?”
A deep, gruff voice echoed from the large mulatto gentleman seated opposite the Prince. “The contagion is ready sir; it should take no more than a month for it to completely take effect. We estimate over three fourths of the population will be eliminated.”
The Prince nodded slightly. “Is there no way to raise that number?”
The large man responded. “Not without severely damaging the resources sir.”
The Prince nodded with slight disappointment. “Is the antidote prepared?”
The large man smiled. “We’ve already received it sir.”
The Prince nodded and turned his attention to another illuminati member.
“Very well, what of the ACP?”
The ACP, “Australian Contingency Plan” was the term used to represent the smaller populated but civilized areas of the world Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, Greenland etc, it was the plan to ensure that any body of land worth salvaging be converted and any area not be depopulated.
A tall slender man with glasses and a Norwegian accent leaned forward in his chair. “Ready and waiting sir.”
The Prince nodded in silent approval, then forced the most solemn appearance of false regret he could muster. “Does everyone have their sacrificial lambs chosen?”
The council looked at each other around the table and nodded, most with at least some semblance of guilt.”
The Prince looked to the man on his right.”So what will it be?”
The man nodded knowing the Princes disapproval of his choice.”We believe Houston will be most effective.”
The Prince lifted his nose to look disapprovingly at his first. “I still believe Los Angeles would make a more fitting target.”
The man on the right explained his decision. “The celebrity influence is still very strong in my country; we believe they can be used to help convert the masses.”
The Prince nodded slightly. “It is your choice.”
After a few moments of tense silence the Prince spoke, his proper accent paired perfectly with his arrogance.
“We will commence operations on November 25
th
just before midnight as planned. Since the United States has been deemed our biggest threat we will use their holiday to round up all potential defectors. Simultaneously all other regions will do the same. General registration will begin on the 26
th.
Have all our agents been prepared?”
The man on the right took his cue. “They await their orders sir.”
The Prince stood and leaned forward placing his hands on the table looking at each of his council in turn. “Quickly and efficiently gentleman, we don’t want anarchy we want control. It won’t be long before people begin to appreciate the world we’ve created for them.”
The man on the right leaned back in his chair which gave a slight creak. “And those who do not conform will help to alleviate the population problem.”
The council looked at each in turn relishing in their power. For a short moment the man in the shadows thought of the suffering, the killing, thought of how he could end it all by taking out the entire council. He grinned ever so slightly reveling in his own power, but he knew even he could not defeat all of the illuminati an organization that has always existed in one form or another. He then thought to himself that there was nothing to be done, better to be on the side of history.

“Let me get this straight, you want to check every place that sells cigarettes within a thirty mile radius of the crime for a cashier who might remember a man buying Virginia slims. Are you nuts? Do you know how many stores that is?”
Nathan was sitting at his desk looking on his pad for the listing of stores that sold cigarettes then marking a map with dots. “34 gas stations, 3 Wal-Mart’s, 8 grocery stores and 32 convenient, dollar, gas stations, liquor and other that might sell Virginia slims cigarettes.”
Special agent Daniel Grey was a good investigator and though he had learned to trust his partner’s instincts this was going overboard.
Nathan moved his gaze from the map up to see a very perturbed Agent Grey standing before him. Nathan sat back took a deep breath and tried to explain his logic.
“It won’t take as long as you think. Think about it, at all three murders there was only one common piece of evidence found.”
Grey skeptically answered. ”Virginia Slims cigarettes.”
Nathan nodded. “Now in all three cases the cigarettes were found on the outskirts of the woods where each girl was found.”
Grey nodded. “OK but forensics couldn’t get a DNA match between the saliva from the cigarettes and the semen; the cigarettes could just be coincidence. There were other brands around as well, smokers toss their butts everywhere.”
The intuitive Agent Turner was already shaking his head. “No, one maybe two but not all three locations.”
Grey interjected. “They were public places, parks and an interstate rest stop.”
Nathan was still signaling the universal sign for no and Grey was stumped. “OK then how do you know the cigarettes were his?”
Nathan answered. “He wanted those girls found, not one body was more than three days old, he’s arrogant, he’s proud of what he’s done. He left his semen on the girls because he knew he had no record, he knew we couldn’t link it to him, and he doesn’t think we’ll ever catch him. All the cigarettes were in one general area normally in a puddle or drain. He was either nervous and was smoking before he committed the murder, or most likely he was relishing in his success, probably the latter. Either way the point is he’s smart, smart enough to cover his tracks and part of the thrill for him is getting over on us.”
Grey nodded. “No problem, we wait until he makes a mistake, eventually this asshole will tease us too much he’ll fuck up and we’ll catch him, we’ve already got forensics on tire tracks at the scene as well as…”
Nathan pounded his desk as he stood up. “NO! I will not wait for this piece of shit to hurt another little girl!”
Nathan took a deep breath and walked to his office window subconsciously looking for his quarry. Grey rose from his seat. “Look man I want to catch this jerk just as much as you but we can’t waist our time playing hunches.”
Nathan turned and gave what could only be described as an evil grimace. His next words were very calm and calculated. “This is no hunch; this is how we’re going to catch him.”
Grey eyed his partner intently. “What are you getting at?”
Nathan returned the look. “He has already made a mistake, the one I’ll use to catch him.”
Grey sighed. “The cigarettes.”
Nathan extrapolated on his theory. “Have you ever smoked Grey?”
Grey answered. “I did for a short while, but I never liked the coughing, the shortness of breath and money.”
Nathan nodded slightly. “I’ve always hated them. My parents used to smoke. It’s a very powerful addiction. Smokers smoke in the morning when they first wake up and in the evening just before bed. When they wake up in the middle of the night they smoke, stressed out grab a cigarette. Bad day at the office? Grab a cigarette. Stuck in traffic? Grab a cigarette.”
Nathan took a breath. “Interesting addiction, smoking, it’s the only drug I know of people take when their feeling good, bad or indifferent. People smoke after a meal, when a baby is born people smoke, after sex people smoke. No matter what goes on in a smoker’s life they smoke, it’s as natural to them as using the bathroom, or eating.”
Nathan paused giving all that he had said enough time to sink in, than he continued.
“Were looking for a white male between the ages of 30-45, I’m guessing closer to 35-40. He’s between 5’10” and 6’00” and weighs just over 200 lbs and these girls weren’t his first victims, just the first where he’s accepted what he is…embraced what he is. He most likely picked these girls up as they were walking home from school, took them to his house, which is probably somewhat secluded, raped and murdered them then took their bodies to high traffic areas in the woods, a park, a walking trail, and that is where he makes his mistake. When he drops the bodies he knows he should just drop the bodies and run but no, he’s worked for this, he’s earned this. So he stays and ..……”Services” himself over the body. After he finishes he walks to the edge of the forest and revels in his success, with a smoke. He congratulates himself with a few more cigarettes and then walks to his car and drives away supremely confident, he even doused the butts in a nearby puddle so that the only trace of evidence he leaves is the semen knowing he’s not in the database, just enough that we can’t be sure if any other evidence there is from him. Tire tracks and his butts blend in among the rest scattered around the scene.”
Once again Nathan paused to let Grey soak in his profile.
“It won’t take long to find him because I’m willing to bet that just like lighting up has become second nature, so has buying cigarettes. As a smoker he probably smoked after he woke up, before he picked up those little girls and after he was…….”Nathan stopped briefly, closed his eyes then continued in a very solemn tone. “After he was finished. The point is he stopped for cigarettes, the only question is where.”
Agent Daniel Grey met his partners gaze and gave in to his scenario for the time being.
“Ok, I only have two questions. Where do you think he stopped?”
Nathan had already come to the most likely locations where he believed the murderer stopped. “There are ten stores within a 5 mile radius of the last crime scene; one gas station is also a discount tobacco store. After cross sectioning that store with the radius of the other crime scenes…”
Grey’s eyes widened “You think you know the exact store?”
Nathan tilted his head to side “Maybe…if he left going northwest but I’m not sure of that. We’ll start there first though.” Nathan looked at Grey “You said you had two questions.”
Grey looked up and to the left trying to remember his second question.
“Oh yea, how the hell do you know his height and weight?”
Nathan raised his eyebrows and shrugged slightly. “I don’t…I just thought it sounded good.”
Grey gave a slight chuckle. “Alright, let’s go see if we can get this bastard.”

Leaving Florida State University two college students were driving west on I-10 going home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Jason grumbled at the weekend traffic slowing their progress then to his friend. “Why did I let you talk me into taking a Saturday class again?”
Darion eyed the line of cars as he answered. “Because we’re double majoring and we’ll have two degrees when we graduate.” Jason riding in the passenger seat of Darion’s 2029 hybrid Jeep Cherokee sucked in his lip and shook his head. “No, that wasn’t it…Now what was it?”
Darion turned his attention from the road just enough to regard his friend. “The girls who take Saturday class.” Jason snapped his fingers “Ah yes, the ladies.” Jason eyed Darion out the corner of his eyes. “You lied.”

It was dark….. Hazy…… a dream……A man cowered on the floor.
“Why? I have always been there for you and for him. I, I have all loyalty to the Prince, I swe….” The man trying to pronounce his loyalty to the Prince was cut short by the sound of cracking bone as his neck was snapped. A shadow returned to darkness……
Up he shot breathing heavy and covered in sweat. Deshad screamed out in the night
“FATHER!!!”
The man from the shadows calmed his breathing and then rose from his disrupted slumber. Placing the disturbing images out of his mind he went to check on he who is to soon be king…..The Prince.

The agent in charge directed a small SWAT team’s attention to a recording being played at the front of the ready room. “At 1900 hours yesterday Agents Turner and Grey appropriated this recording from a Quick and Easy convenient store. The man you are looking at is Franklin Warren Millsap, a gourmet chef at the Heart of Sicily Italian restaurant in Alexandria. Mr. Millsap is now the primary suspect in the murder of three girls. While Mr. Millsap is the primary suspect a DNA match is necessary to confirm that he is the killer…therefore boys don’t ruff him up, we don’t need any more police brutality crap. This should be fairly routine agents; Mr. Millsap lives alone on private property on the outskirts of Alexandria. Its 0400 I want him in our custody by 0700.Lets move gentlemen.”
Leaning on the wall at the back of the room with chin to chest and arms folded was Agent Turner. He wasn’t moving with the hustle implied by the agent in charge. A young agent by the name of Bell approached.
