Chapter One

“You said she wouldn’t find out anything,” the man in the hooded mask said. Billy was about to go ape shit crazy with this assignment. He had been working it for the last fifteen years, pretending to be something he wasn’t.

“She doesn’t have a clue, she’s stupid, and hell, she does anything I tell her to do.”

“That may be, but her friends pose a problem for us. Separate the girl from them or it will be
your
life I come for next.” The hooded man left and Billy stood in the secret location with his head bowed. The Master had trusted him, and now it was time for the next stage of his plan to play out.

*****

Cece watched the clock as it ticked away slowly. She was happy to be at work, but right now she needed to research stuff for Becky. It seemed she was having weird visions or ideas and needed answers. It was a good thing she worked at a library and had access to everything. Lately, she had been working hand in hand with Travis, and she had to admit she had a crush on the man, but he acted like a big brother to her. Looking into the book, she swore under her breath as she reread the same sentence over and over again. It rang true for something, but she couldn’t figure it out. Pulling out her notebook from her bag, Cece went to work on the thoughts she had. It was starting to come together.

Excuse me, miss.” Cece looked up into the brown eyes of a young man who seemed lost.

“I can’t seem to find this book. Do you think you might be able to help me?”

Cece looked at the name on the paper and smiled. The young man was looking for a book of sexual positions, no wonder he was hesitant in asking.

“You go down to—,” she started to explain, but he just seemed lost. “Follow me.” She had to remember most people didn’t know a library’s ins and outs as she did. The young man followed without a word, making her wonder what he might be thinking. Once she reached the row, not wanting to explain to him how the dewy decimal system worked, she found the book and handed it to him. The man smiled brightly at her and left to check out the book. As she looked at him, the realization she was probably the same age as him hit her. Even at the age of twenty-three almost twenty-four, she sometimes felt as if she were a thirty or forty year old. It was sad really. Her world revolved around her friends, and a few times Billy. However, Billy was her secret, she just needed more time to save, and then she would move away from the house. Except it seemed that anytime she got some money or something, Billy would come and take it away from her.

Glancing at the clock she sighed, she needed to hurry to the store to find something for dinner before she headed home. It was the time of day Billy always left for a while, and she loved the peace, if only for a short time. Grabbing what she needed at the store she made her way home. As she walking into the driveway, she saw three other cars.
Seems big brother has friends over, oh goody—not.
Shaking off the nervousness she had, she opened the door and could hear laughing and cussing as the men yelled at a game on the TV.

“Cece, you finally made it home. Good. We’re hungry, make us something to eat,” Billy snapped at her. She didn’t say anything, just nodded and went to the kitchen with the food she'd picked up, happy she picked up food she could make into large quantities. As she got to work on a simple spaghetti dinner, she didn’t hear someone come in behind her until he wrapped an arm around her waist.

“You smell so yummy, little girl. I sure hope you’re on the menu, because I could use something sweet.”

She gasped as he moved a hand up and squeezed her breast. She turned around and slapped him hard. She winced as her hand started to sting.

“Don’t touch me.” The no named man looked at her with lust in his eyes as he grabbed her arm pulling her to him.

“I do like the ones who fight back.” She went to push him away, but the bastard seemed to know what she was going to do and grabbed her other arm, holding her in place. She struggled as he licked the side of her neck.

“Let me go you sick fuck.” He just chuckled in her ear. Her brother called for his friend, whose name evidently was Donald.
