She held her stomach as a smile crept across her face.

“Would you prefer white wine next time?” he asked.

He wasn’t catching on.

“I’m pregnant,” she said.

His mouth hung open like a fish and his hands dropped to the floor, splashing red wine on the blanket. “Shut up.”

She chuckled and rolled her eyes. Exactly the reaction that she was expecting.

He lunged forward, wrapping his arms around her. “A little cub,” he whispered in her ear. “Thank you.”

She kissed him on the cheek. “Okay. I admit it. You win.”

She was thrilled to be having his little cub. She never saw herself as a mother until these past few months as she grew closer with Sidney. Now she couldn’t believe that she didn’t want children in the first place.

Sidney sat back down and stared at her in shock. “We can name him after my grandparents,” he said. “If it’s a girl it’s Myrtle. If it’s a boy it’s Myrt.”

“You’re kidding right?”

He looked at her blankly.

Angie did something that she would be doing countless times over the rest of her lifetime with Sidney. She shook her head at him and rolled her eyes.
