Prologue

“Midnight Memories”

Noah

So the impossible has happened and Mac is finally hitched.

Wonders will never cease!

The ceremony was awesome—total Mac and Daniel epic-ness, despite the fact Riley and Jared decided to mix things up and cause a ruckus by fighting over Riley’s basket of rose petals. It was a toddler battle of the sexes with Jared coming out on top and rose petals spread from asshole to breakfast. But even with that little interlude, the ceremony was perfect.

We’ve had the speeches and shit, I even gave a very heartfelt speech to Daniel and Mac about the virtues of marriage—how friendship and love are the cornerstones to any successful relationship. If only I really believed that in my own life.

If it were true, I wouldn’t have been pining after the same woman for fifteen years, and definitely not stupidly hoping she holds even a flicker of a flame for me. But the way she’s acted today, both during the ceremony and now at the reception, I’m seriously wondering why I even bothered inviting her. Hence why I’ve had a few too many drinks and am bordering on no longer giving a shit.

Oh yes, that’s right, because she said she wanted to be my date. In public. In front of people we know. In front of both of our parents, who were also invited as friends of Dan’s family. But considering I’ve been pretty much dateless most of the night, I’m suddenly very dubious of Nikki’s intentions for today.

Sitting at the head table next to Daniel and Mac, who are deliriously happy and huddled closely together talking quietly, I scan the room, taking in the whole scene. Mac’s mom and dad dancing happily, laughing and smiling together. Why is it that the closer I get to thirty—
three months to go
—the more I’m starting to think about this kind of shit? The woman to love, the house to come home to, the children to be proud of . . .

I want a happy and fulfilled life with something other than just my career to show for myself.

I catch a flash of platinum blond hair in my peripheral vision and turn to see Nikki sauntering her way toward me, her hips jutting out with an extra seductive swing, and her eyes hooded and dark with heat as she reaches my side. Quirking one eyebrow at her, I bring my glass of whiskey sour to my lips, relishing the sharp jolt to my senses it provides as I swirl the liquor around my mouth before swallowing it carefully.

I turn in my seat just as Nikki bends down, giving me an awesome view of her tits, and nuzzles my neck before sucking my earlobe into her mouth. “I want you, baby.”

“Mmm hmm,” I murmur, trying to appear unaffected, but who am I kidding? I’m two drinks past thinking logically, and about five drinks past being able to say no to my now rock-hard dick.

“Meet me on the green. I’ll let you claim me as the nineteenth hole.” Her hand runs up my thigh before grabbing hold of my cock and squeezing hard. I try to contain my surge of lust and shock by coughing. Actually, spluttering would be a more accurate description. Nikki releases her stranglehold on my dick before standing up straight, and with a smirk and a wink, she spins on her sexy black heels and struts away from me.

Fuck. Me.

Well, actually, fuck her. And I will, as soon as I can discreetly get out of here.

I down the rest of my drink and lean toward Daniel. “Hey, man, I’m just going to pop outside for a bit. Get some fresh air.”

“All good. Thanks for your speech. Didn’t know you had it in you.”

“Yeah, well I’m more than just a pretty face,” I add. Little does he know that there’s more meaning behind that retort than I’d care to admit. Or, more fittingly, there would have been if I’d said there’s more to me than just a big dick and a pretty face.

I give Daniel a friendly slap on the shoulder and bend down to give Mac’s head a sloppy kiss before walking away from them and past the bar. My head feels light, my mood as buoyant as my cock as I move in the same direction as Nikki. Drunk and hornier as a bitch in heat, I stumble sideways and crash into someone, instinctively throwing my arms out to grab hold of them when I see her falling to the ground.

“Easy now, sweetheart, no harm done.” I gently lift the woman back onto her feet, holding firm until she steadies herself against me.

“I’m fine. Thanks for knocking me over and, you know, catching me.” Her voice sounds like warm honey, the type you want to have poured all over you and slowly lapped back up. Looking up, I’m instantly captured by the sexiest pair of aqua blue eyes I’ve ever seen. But that is just the start of the gorgeous woman I’m still holding captive in my arms. Like a deer in the headlights, I continue to stare at her, unable to look away as I try hard to commit her face to memory.

Never in my life have I been lost for words.

Dr. Noah Taylor, the Walking Dildo to many—coined from experience, gossip and innuendo—is cocky and confident. I’m always ready with smartass retorts or flirty banter. But right now, I’ve got too many drinks under my belt, too much testosterone pulsing through my veins, and with the promise of a hot fuck on the nineteenth green at the front of my mind, I do the first thing that comes to mind.

Wrapping one arm around her waist and snaking the other up her back, I delve my fingers into the softest brown hair I’ve ever felt, tilt my head, and crash my mouth against hers.

Chapter 1

“Problem”

“Get your hands off my sister.”

I’m jerked backwards, my arms wrenched off the delicious tasting woman I was enjoying. My body is spun around, which just serves to make my stomach lurch. I swallow down hard as I come face to face with Zander and realize what is happening too late as my face meets his fist, my head snapping back, and pain shooting through my jaw as I’m rocked sideways into a body behind me.

“What the fuck, Taylor?” he asks. I look from the hot brunette under his arm who’s looking satisfactorily disheveled. She rests the fingers of one hand against her swollen lips, her eyes wide and glued to me. I drag my bleary eyes away from her and take in the man holding her, the foreboding sight of a very pissed off Zander. I switch between them, my liquor-addled brain not working it out.

“Sister?”

“Yeah, man,” he spits out. “My sister. So keep your dirty hands and mouth off her."

I rub my face with my hand and turn toward a frowning Daniel.

“Dan?” I ask, my vision filled with a blurred haze, just moments before I taste the telltale burn of bile in my throat. Bending over quickly and without much warning, I proceed to spew up the night’s alcohol and food intake into a fortunately placed trashcan at the front of the bar.

“Fuck!” Daniel curses. A sexy female voice murmurs in the background and as much as I wish I could lift my head to look at her once again, the waves of nausea continue to wrack through my body as the vomiting refuses to wane.

“Zan, you didn’t have to fucking punch the guy! Jeez. I
can
handle myself you know.”

“He fucking put his dirty hands on you. His fucking mouth, Zo.”

“And I was
handling
it. I’m not fucking sixteen. I’m a grown-ass woman who can decide if she wants to punch a hot drunk guy out!” Her voice continues to rise until it reaches yelling volume.

“You weren’t stopping him, unless you count grabbing his ass and swallowing his tongue a new form of self-defense.”

“Ugh,” I moan, as the flow of vomit finally stops and a glass of water is thrust in front of my bent down face.

“Drink this, Taylor, and fucking clean yourself up,” Daniel says, sounding extremely pissed off. I gingerly wrap my hand around the cup and stand up straight, downing the glass in a few eager gulps before holding it out.

I look around to see Kate glaring at me, her arm wrapped around the beautiful stranger, the woman with the exquisite mouth, and bedroom eyes that are glowing red as she shrieks at Zander.

My attention is drawn back to Dan as he continues to talk to me. “What the fuck was that? You tell me you’re getting some fresh air and then you’re putting your tongue down Zoe's throat . . .” His words don’t penetrate. The noise around me dims to a buzzing in my ears as the throbbing in my jaw intensifies and my head swims.

Zoe. Such a beautiful name. I can just imagine it rolling off my tongue with a groan as she wraps those cherry red lips around my cock and takes me deep inside. A beautiful name for a breathtaking woman. The gorgeous woman who’s left me craving for more with her irresistible body.

“Noah, are you even aware of what you just did?”

I look at him and my body sways back and forth. The room starts to spin faster and faster, making my stomach lurch once more.

“Fuck, you’re toasted. Let’s get some fresh air.” Daniel’s fingers wrap around my arm and I’m dragged away from the woman whose delectable mouth I just violated. I try to commit her to memory but when she’s out of sight, I find myself unable to focus on anything other than the sudden change of temperature as we walk out the back door of the ballroom toward the golf course.

“Where’re we going?” I slur, my legs feeling heavier with every step I take.

“Away from Zander. I have a feeling he’s not going to forget this easily.” I stop and wrench my arm free, turning my head to look at my best friend.

“Forget what?” I ask with a half-grin.

“Seriously?”

“What?” I stagger backwards and fall on my ass, the hard fall jarring my head, but I can’t seem to care. I fall onto my back and stare up at the sky, the stars spinning so fast I close my eyes to stop the vertigo from making me queasy again. I flex my fingers on the ground, whatever I’m lying on damp and soft against my skin.

Opening my eyes again, my vision is filled with Nikki towering over me, her eyes narrowed. “Noah, what are you doing?” She’s frowning, a flawless face that I’ve wanted for so long. Not as strikingly beautiful as
Zoe
though.

“He’s drunk as fuck and causing trouble. I’d like to get back to my
wife,
since it is my wedding, and I don’t feel like babysitting my drunk-ass best friend on my wedding night. You’re up, Nikki,” Daniel replies tersely. I don’t miss Nikki’s flinch when Daniel said the word wife.

Daniel’s out of my line of sight, then his footsteps get further away.

“Bye Dan, my man!” I shout, choosing to ignore Nikki’s reaction. I turn my head to see his retreating back and a backwards wave just before he disappears from sight.

“Noah, can you get off the grass?” Nikki demands with a shrill that grates my ears.

“I’m on grass?” I ask, wondering what the hell she’s on about.

“Uh, yeah. You’re lying on the lawn in front of the clubhouse. Don’t you dare think I’ll carry you to the cab.”

I snort at the image of thin, prim and proper Nikki trying to lift me.

“What about the nineteenth hole?” I snigger suggestively, trying to sound seductive, but the slurring makes it a hard task.

“I think that ship has sailed. Now get up and I’ll put you in a cab.”

“You’re not coming with me?”

“I don’t think you’re any use to me in this condition. I should’ve left hours ago.”

Shot to the heart. Drunk or not, that one hurt.

“Nice, Nikki.”

“Just saying it like it is,” she retorts, deadpan. “Now give me your arm and stand up.” She holds out her hand for mine, and after a few attempts and a lot of effort, I push myself up and roll onto my hands and knees before the next round of upchucks start.

“Yuck!” she shrieks, her pink shoes getting covered in splash-back. “These are fucking twelve hundred dollar shoes.”

“Fuck it. It’ll wash off.”

She snarls but I can’t find it in me to give a fuck. My head is pounding, my jaw is throbbing and my stomach won’t stop churning. If only the world would stop spinning for a second I could get off this ride.

I manage to stand up and fall into Nikki who is standing there, hands on hips, just glaring at me. She staggers back but miraculously manages to take my weight before I’m able to right myself.

I plaster a ‘come hither’ look on my face. “C’mon baby. Take me home and ride me.”

Rolling her eyes, she looks over my shoulder toward the reception then back to me. “Whatever. After today, I just want to go to bed.”

“That can be arranged, baby.”

“Don’t call me ‘baby’. I’m not your baby. Got it?” She turns and starts walking back toward the clubhouse. I’m not inebriated enough to miss the fact that Nikki is being bitchier than usual, but being me—drunk and horny—all I want to do is go home, get my dick wet then black out.

Tomorrow I can clean up whatever mess I made, literally and figuratively speaking.

Unfortunately I was too drunk to realize that the night was still young and there was plenty of shit to still hit the fan.

Chapter 2

“Cool Kids”

Zoe

What started out as a nice, pleasant, rather uneventful day definitely ended with a bang. Well not a bang—that would’ve been a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

As it stands, Mac and Daniel’s wedding was amazing. Mac was beautiful, Daniel was as handsome as ever, and those twins of theirs made my ovaries ache. Seriously, if it weren’t for the stretch marks, huge boobs and lack of sleep that comes with having twins, I’d totally sign up if it meant having kids like Riley and Jared.

The ceremony was funny, sweet and absolutely perfect. The reception has so far had delicious food, entertaining speeches, and a touching first dance between Mac and Daniel, with Riley and Jared standing between them. With an open bar and copious amounts of eye candy, it’s been a great day.

Then the man I’d been admiring all day—Noah Taylor, the hottest fucking best man I have ever seen—crashed into me. One minute we were just standing there, staring at each other, and the next he pulled my body hard against his, tangled his fingers in my hair and plunged his tongue into my mouth, proceeding to give me the Best. Kiss. Of. My. Life. Bar none.
